Bronny might have just gotten the short end of the genetic lottery.

His younger brother Bryce is 15 years old and already 6'6".

This is not another Malaki Branham.

By any measure, James is the most influential high school athlete of all time.

Sierra Canyon high school games are a mad house. Lines around the block. Police presence at every game. Any time they go on the road people sleep in tents to see him play.

Every game in The Schott would be sold out, and every game would be on national TV.

Contrary opinion, but I bet Donovan Jackson kicks out to Tackle. Dude has a 6'11" wingspan, insane strength, and is a freak athlete. By far our most talented offensive lineman, Jackson has all the makings of an elite tackle. He will make a lot more money in the NFL being able to play both positions.

I would much rather Zen Michalski be our backup swing tackle, because there is zero depth behind him.

We are much deeper on the interior too with Enokk Vimahi, Tegra Tshabola, and Victor Cutler ready to play alongside Matt Jones. (Not to mention Ben Christman and Jakob James pushing for playing time as well)

Great perspective as always, Ramzy.

We are undoubtedly living in a golden age of Ohio State football.

It’s only a matter of time before we reach that mountaintop again.

Micah Hudson (#2 WR in 2024) told ON3 last week that his top three schools right now are Ohio State, Texas, and Texas Tech.

“Ohio State is always gonna have good receivers, so I feel like going to a school with other good receivers is gonna drive you even more and push you even more to be great,” Hudson said. “That competition right next to you and those guys are probably going to be wanting the same thing for you. But at the same time, you(‘ve) got a great coach that has been doing this and he knows what he’s doing. His stuff is paying off. You can see that it’s paying off. But also credit to those guys too cause they listen to the coach and invest the time and did what they were supposed to do.”

Interestingly, both Texas and Texas Tech recently lost their WR coaches to new jobs. Meanwhile, Hartline was promoted, so he's not going anywhere.

You may remember Hudson's visit was posted on YouTube back in November.

Good question Billz.

Singletary has a really good relationship with Coach Alford, but most of the smoke has him ending up at FSU (closer to home) or Miami (old DBs coach is there).

If the position is still utilized next year, my outside the box suggestion is Kayden McDonald.

You know how Day has utilized Mitch Rossi as a fullback out of the I-formation several times this season? Well, he may be tempted to do the same thing for McDonald in a William Refrigerator Perry-style package where McDonald could be used as a ball carrier. McDonald has been a goal line back for North Gwinnett the past few years, running for 176 yards on 35 carries with six touchdowns this year.

At 325 lbs, McDonald will be the biggest player on the team the moment he walks on campus. Imagine the possibilities with him in short yardage situations.

If we can get Matt Jones back, this is what I bet the starting offensive line Week 1 2023 looks like:

LT - Donovan Jackson

LG - Enokk Vimahi

C -   Matt Jones

RG - Tegra Tshabola

RT - Josh Fryar

Feel great about Jackson (cross-trained at tackle this year), Jones (natural center), and Fryar, who was excellent filling in this year.

Really excited for Tshabola to get his shot. Dude is an absolute mauler, super violent player. Only true freshman to crack the two deep to start the year before the staff put him on ice to preserve his redshirt.

Huge off-season ahead for Vimahi, knowing he’ll be an everyday starter.

Georgia does not have a good track record of developing QBs for the NFL.

This is every Georgia starting QB under Kirby Smart:

Jacob Eason (#2 QB, #5 Overall)

  • Day 3 pick. Out of the NFL.

Jake Fromm (#3 QB, #44 Overall)

  • Day 3 pick. 4th string QB for Commanders.

D’Wan Mathis (#11 QB, #311 Overall)

  • Transferred to Temple. Switched to WR.

JT Daniels (#2 QB, #16 Overall)

  • Transferred to Rice. Does not project as an NFL draft pick.

Stetson Bennett (Walk-On)

  • Projected as Day 3 pick.

Plenty of highly touted QBs in the mix, none of whom turned into anything at the next level. Pretty striking when compared to Day’s track record of three QBs -> three first round picks.

Also, Georgia already has Ryan Puglisi in 2024. Puglisi has been lighting it up on the camp circuit, famously earning offers from Alabama and Georgia after blowing them away in workouts this past summer. Said to have off-the-charts intangibles, competitiveness, and a rocket arm.

Puglisi seems solid to Georgia - I would not be surprised if he ends up beating out Dylan Raiola in a potential competition.

In summary, Raiola would be going to a school with a track record of turning highly rated QBs into late round picks, significantly worse weapons, and an uber-talented, hyper-competitive QB already in his class. Interesting decision to say the least.

Wish him the best, just don’t quite understand it.

Well put, Ramzy.

The losses, especially the devastating ones, will make any future triumphs that much sweeter. Hard to appreciate now, but every team goes through it.

It’s what makes sports and National Championships so great - the ultimate catharsis of many years of suffering.

Ja’Had Carter is the guy in the portal I wanted most. Syracuse is my second team so I watch a lot of their games. I know Orange fans were devastated when he entered the portal.

Just a straight up playmaker. Led Syracuse in turnovers this year. And most importantly plays his best in the biggest games.

Carter absolutely dominated against Notre Dame his freshman year. And this year he had a 90 yard fumble return TD and a pick against Clemson. Always around the ball. Would not be surprised if he led us in turnovers next year.

Tony Grimes was awful at UNC. Top five in yards allowed nationally.

Got benched for Lejond Cavazos, who transferred out of here to find more playing time.

Cant blame him for cashing in on his five star name one last time, and TA&M is certainly the place to do it.

Love the perspective as always, Ramzy. Looking forward to seeing how our guys respond.

Happy holidays to you and your family!

Awful news. Praying for a full recovery for Avery.

Cancer will only be a chapter in your life, not the whole story.

Comment 19 Dec 2022

Not true. We completely shut down Michael Mayer earlier this season.

Mayer is the number one TE and a top ten pick regardless of position in this year’s draft. And a much bigger physical mismatch than Bowers.

For those commenting that Georgia’s offense will be healthier too.

Georgia’s starting OT Warren McClendon, who has started every game for the past three seasons (37 straight starts), suffered an MCL injury against LSU.

And their #1 WR Ladd McConkey reaggravated an existing knee injury against LSU.

Both players are still not practicing and considered highly questionable for the Peach Bowl.

If they can’t play, Georgia would be down multiple starters on offense for the first time this season.
