If we had an elite head coach or even a solid head coach, we probably would get Bronny, and we would be a much better program. But Holtmann's tenure here is falling apart. I can't believe he was given an extension. If I'm LeBron, I tell Bronny to go to a program with stability and a good chance of winning something. It's weird because we have a pretty solid class coming in and Bronny would make it better. We've had good players here. I really don't understand why we are becoming an average basketball program.

Deion certainly has the swagger and the clout from his playing days, he's a name. But I don't know if he has the ability to build a legitimate program at the Power 5 level. You need serious coaching chops, incredible assistant coaches, elite support staff, and a donor base with big money, and a large fanbase. You need a damn good infrastructure to be successful. Colorado doesn't have a rich tradition of winning. Coaching at a HBCU is one thing. They probably thought Deion was a God, easily the most excitable, interesting coach they could ever have. Deion made Jackson State feel like they were more than they really were. He was a blue whale in a small pond. Power 5 football is very different. Flash, flare and swagger can only take you so far. He can certainly recruit, and that is big, but A LOT goes into building a perennial successful program that goes against USC, Oregon, Washington, etc. Colorado did build a new facility and that helps, too. We'll see.

Does anyone remember or know what happened here? Did Raiola just commit and beat Davis to the punch? Not sure if we chose Raiola over Davis, or we told Davis to hold off, hoping Raiola would commit instead. Was this a 1A or 1B situation or Plan A or B?

Context matters because you don't want Davis harboring ill feelings where he says thanks, but no thanks. Ryan certainly brought the big guns. We will have 3 first round picks at QB to sell to him. Development should be #1 to a highly decorated QB.

It's bad enough Gene hired this clown, and then gave him an extension. Brilliant.

Just remember, Gene had nothing to do with Urban's hiring. The Board of Trustees handled all of that and made sure it would get done, and Gene enjoyed all of the success.

He enjoyed the success of Tressel, he inherited him.

Gene was the reason why we didn't get to play for a national title in 2012.

We are getting bent in NIL.

I wish I could be as incompetent and make that kind of money.

You don't need to be Justin Fields, or Braxton Miller or Terrelle Pryor to be an effective runner. But we need that element in our offense. It gave us a chance to get in range for Ruggles. In the words of Herman Boone in Remember the Titans, "I don't care if you're black, green, blue, white or orange," if you're named QB1 of our program, you will run and move the sticks by any means necessary.

I'm sure this bullshit will get swept under the rug. They're not as squeaky clean as they want you to believe. They're no different than any program in the nation. Their sanctimony and arrogance is what makes me vomit. If M didn't make the playoffs again, and didn't kick the shit out of us again, they would have an excuse to can him. But since they did, they'll find a way to make it look it was a mistake or not a big deal. They're NOT above reproach.

Something tells me that he was probably trying to hack into someone's computer for information. If this was something insidious like kiddie porn, he would've been fired. An investigation like that would be open and shut. I'm sure this will get cleared up and swept under the rug like Mazi Smith's insane gun ammunition collection, because they're MICHIGAN MEN, bitch, they do things the right way!

Kam is a fine young man with character of the highest caliber, with the mental fortitude that very few people on this earth possess. Whatever he does in life, I'm quite certain he'll succeed. Participating in team sports can teach you a lot about people and yourself. That TD catch he had against Indiana, and seeing the entire team go crazy, that tells you that he was INCREDIBLY well-liked and respected. I cheered so loudly on that play. He never gave up. He is an inspiration to a lot of people, and I would love if he came onto our staff as a GA.

The NCAA is a fucking joke and has been for a long, long time. These programs are handing out millions of dollars like money grows on trees. Wait, according to the Fed, it does! LOL. But seriously, expecting these 17-18 year old kids to be able to handle that kind of money with maturity and humility, and get a great return on that investment is laughable. It's like gambling with FTX. It will create serious locker room issues. It will tear programs apart. Not every 5-star athlete pans out. Some of these kids will transfer 2-3 times. I realize that college football generates a lot of cash for universities. I get it. But offering $10+ million to a high schooler? It's just BAT SHIT CRAZY. I cannot believe they signed this into law and don't have any guardrails or oversight on this.

I said basically the same thing and a handful of homers got their feelings hurt and downvoted me LOL. People make me laugh.

CJ leaving for the NFL was the obvious decision. You don't turn down that kind of money. The reason why we didn't win any championships with him as our QB was because our defense was a disaster. Now that 3 of our OL were leaving too, he would've been insane to come back.

Comment 16 Jan 2023

Best of luck, CJ. I hope he has a great career AND finds a good landing spot where they fully invest in his growth and don't destroy him like the Bears are doing with Justin. He honestly would've been out of his mind to come back and risk injury. I'm actually shocked that so many people thought he would come back and take more classes, midterms, finals, etc. He did the right thing for his future and his family, and he'll get at least $30 million guaranteed with a nice signing bonus.

Let the QB competition begin for Kyle and Devin. 3 new OL and a new QB. This will be a very interesting year.

Comment 16 Jan 2023

It's imperative that we fully develop CJ and Sonny and they see the field next season. Cannot afford to lose both. They are super-sized athletes that we need on defense, especially with the growing pains on offense we'll have with 3 new OL and new QB. Steele and Tommy are back which helps because they have experience, and they were very solid. I would like to see us have more 4-3 looks.

I'm always happy to see Buckeyes make plays. Love that Tirico reminded everyone where Sammy played.

Comment 14 Jan 2023

A question you have to ask yourself is, what will you regret more? Sacrificing making A LOT more money so that you can retire earlier than anticipated OR having your family make a major adjustment?

Comment 13 Jan 2023

This will certainly keep him here at least for another year or two. He deserves this promotion. His recruiting has been off the charts. His player development has been off the charts. I believe he was the passing game coordinator in name last year, which indicates he was involved in game-planning. The next logical step for him is to either call plays or give direct input on game day. We'll see if Ryan gives up play-calling duties and delegates which is what a CEO does. The timing of this is interesting with CJ, Paris, Dawand and Luke going to the NFL. Replacing those guys will be extremely difficult. However, if this works out and we win the Big Ten, beat M, and go back to the playoff, a move could be made for Hartline to become an Associate Head Coach to warrant an even greater raise of another $500K or more. It's great to see our very own rise up the ranks and do great things here. His future is very bright.

The next 2-3 years will be interesting in that Hartline and Fickell could be auditioning to be the next head coach here, depending on if Ryan gets irritated with the college football landscape and goes to the NFL OR if he loses to M 1 or 2 more times.

Like, what the actual fuck? How are people supposed to be formally and adequately qualified to do something? How can we lead the world in innovation, productivity and excellence when you let any halfwit do something? Especially a career of significant value. We need standards to separate the haves from the have nots. What are these fools saying now? That having standards and setting forth qualifications are evil, fascist and misogynistic now?

It's time to leave earth.

Just saw Jaheim Singletary is entering the portal. This new age of college football with the transfer portal and NIL is an unmitigated disaster. Whoever allowed all of this bullshit to happen should NOT be occupying any office on Capitol Hill.
