I think it's a problem with people in general. It's an increasing problem with many political and behavioral x factors tearing at the common family. More people act out and social media is an easy way for many of them to do that. I can't understand why people treat the sport like it's a matter of life and death. It's about new kids and teams every year trying to bond at the same time.

I also like to add that head coach inexperience is a thing. Can you imagine taking on a high profile head coaching job for the first time and still expected to have these goals? I think we need to accept reality that unless Day turns starts to prove his worth, he is bound to have growing pains and rookie head coach mistakes. Comparing those coaches I would think you would need to keep their experience in mind at their respective times of taking over the program. We are literally watching a student trying to blend in with some of the greatest from the start. He has done enough to show the potential. Now we have to see his resilience and how to decides to change and not change certain things. You would have to think he gets advice and help from other coaches, right?

I find the number of people down voting your comment interesting. It appears there are some that believe in not storing your team even through a loss. Very interesting mindset that I hope those same people don't apply that thinking in other areas. For the amount of people that take osu football as serious as they do, you would think you could relate it to various life lessons. No one person is ever perfect and always perfect. To love when things are well but not to love when things are not well tells me about character.

Agreed but I think it is important to understand that Georgia scores a lot of points and reasonable to assume they will score against osu. So regardless, yes we want stops but the offense needs to be able to execute production. Something, they didn't do when they needed to against ttun in the second half, no matter of the blame falls on coaches or players or both. For any football team, it's good when your offense and defense can compliment each other. Sucks when one performs really well by the other, not so much

So you prefer seating capacity over noise and environment advantage? I too like the idea of hosting more seats on one hand but on the other and especially if I was a player, I would prefer the arena that was louder and more intimidating. I suppose more ticket sales trumps.

I use to try and enjoy game threads on osu football but have given up on them for mainly the same reasons why others don't enjoy them and why some would rather walk the south side of Chicago at night, lol. Even though you would think people can understand how difficult it is to have a perfect win loss record and the fact that the team is about the players, that people would show their knowledge through their commenting but instead the osu football game threads turns into what not to do when your team isn't going to win every game. Big difference in articulating team needs in terms of developing vs being hateful and thinking that people can't make mistakes.

It is interesting to consider what these last 2 seasons would have been like under urban. His style is typically a qb led team in terms of he puts it on the qb to make a play whether by foot or pass. Day seems to enforce the qb position differently as evident by play calls. The main difference being urban did not lose to Michigan and seemed to a always promote a run game first with passing a compliment. Day seems to rarely enforce the run as urban did.

As someone that has put in his fair share of organized football, being tough is a necessity to be a starter for several seasons. The "being tough" argument is a matter of perception and victories. The ten with the most points wins. It's not the team that looks the toughest by the media or narratives. In many ways you could argue the team that scored the most points that game, was the toughest that day.

Not that weird to me. You are naive if you do not realize that there are more x- factors the voters use to choose their winner. And yes, to your point, if you want to deep dive into it, you will find where many times where it doesn't make sense. It can become narrative driven and a popularity contest. Not always about numbers

Watching Day operate, I can see that he likes and wants to be good at a lot of things of possible. And seems intelligent about it. Once you prove you can master consistency at something then add on a little. Prove that then at a little more. Also seems to prepare and practice for more than they show so then can have the options of surprising people when they need to.

I think you can be fanatical about your favorite college team in healthy or unhealthy ways. Some people like to excuse wild behaviors as that's what "fanatical" means. I used to be more emotional but now I realize it's a game/sport meant for the young men that are playing it. It's about what they get out of their time and not about the fans and their feelings. I like to think of myself of a healthy fanatical over OSU rather than the unhealthy fanatical type.

And this is the game is played. A lot of assumptions based on the players having good or great performances. But CJ has been very inaccurate and OSU’s defense fails to adjust to NU’s run game.

and when CJ does get the ball to the receivers, there have been many drops.

and while people want to blame it on the weather, NU seems to have less problems.

concerning indeed.

I also read a comment by Day stating that it took a few or several drives to see what Iowa was doing so that they knew how to attack the rest of the game. I have picked up on some things and it seems like what Day and the coaches have been trying to do is to be so good at offense that it doesn't matter what the defense does. What I'm trying to get at, is that once the coaches understand what schematics or tendacies they pick up on early in the game, they adjust the play calling to suit where needed. Only way that works is if you have your team succeeding in about most or all phases. There is some serious team chemistry this year with the Buckeyes and we should relish every moment as fans:)

If the players are smoking weed on the locker room, my first thought is that they must be checked out. What I learned from great coaches is that you need leadership on the locker room and it can't always be the coaches. The best teams have great leaders in some of the players to help keep the locker room on the right track.

You are pointing out the obvious goal for most every team in football. No one team can always dominate every game the same way. There are many variables to the game of football and it is never as simple as fans like to point out. And you can't always compare how other teams perform with the amount of variables. Iowa's game plan for ttun or any other team could and most likely be different than how they prepare for OSU. Also, each week before each game makes a difference. If the players have a better week of practice against ttun but had a poor week of practice against osu, that could also be the difference maker as well. Too many variables to listen to your one side take. Comments like that make my head hurt trying to understand why people try to make it sound so simple. Apologies if I come off harsh, just trying to help you understand football a little more.
