I've been a Buckeye fan since birth. I remember quite fondly my dad and I would climb onto the roof of the house every Saturday and early Sunday morning in order to adjust the antenna so that we could watch THE Ohio State Buckeyes' games. The ones that were not live, we always listened to religiously on the radio, and then stayed up late (it was the weekend) in order to receive our edition of the Dispatch so we could read the game recap as Hot-off-the-press as was possible at 3am. Watching the Buckeyes Replays on WOSU Sunday mornings at 9am were always the highlights of the fall in my opinion. And we NEVER missed them. Sometimes even being late for Church on occasion. Well..the Pastor at our church made the mistake of asking my Dad to try and be a little earlier next time on this one particular Sunday. This happened to be the Sunday before Thanksgiving and as it turns out was the same Sunday of WOSU's replay of the '87 TSUN game, Erle Bruce's last as Head Coach..My father quite emphatically explained to the entire congregation that his God..Our God is indeed a Buckeye!! And the very mere request of such a preacher could only be the work of those Devilish wolverine fans..Needless to say, we never stepped foot back inside his church. So for me, Buckeye Football is as close to religion as there is.

Lol.. It’s been on the same Saturday in April since Day took over as head coach.  He  changed it from the Saturday of the NFL draft.  It’s Easter Sunday that has rotated every year..

Rewatch that play again, though.. Nothing about that motion by Samuel is even remotely close to a block attempt.. Lol. Garrett was already low and rushing up field and Samuel just so happened to collide with him and take him out.  He didn’t intentionally give up anything.  Just simply fortunate that he wasn’t injured in the process of landing on his head.

Just don’t trade for anyone from USC.. It takes those idiots forever to get their former players through the clearing house…

Let them..  I’m sorry but this excuse is ridiculous.  Line up, tell the guy across from you that you’re going to run the ball right at him, or throw it to so and so.. Then go out there and execute it.  What kind of horseshit excuses do we need to make for our D giving up over 1000 yards and 40 points per game in our last 2 losses.  You got beat.  Grow a pair and get better.

Yeah.. I’ve heard of the tradition of sausage and cabbage for New Year’s.. But dear God that’s a lot of sausage..

I think it may have something to do with this particular site having so much garbage posted about that team up North as well.  At least that’s what I’ve always thought.. I used to get a lot of Alabama crap back (which I may have accidentally clicked on a few times) when they were the top dogs.  Now it’s mostly about the University of Georgia and unbelievably hot, blonde and single Ukrainian women.. And at least one of those was clicked on accidentally also…

We’ve been the higher ranked team in only 4 of those matchups you listed.. We’re 1-3 in such games.  While that’s not exactly an argument that’s going to convince anyone that it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds against the Big Bad SEC.. There’s actually only ever been a handful of games that we were even supposed to win.  So this isn’t new territory for the Bucks..

We as fans have seen this narrative before and have felt the disrespect that it brings.  We’ve lived the disappointment of losing the one game that we couldn’t and ending up as one of the side acts in the Bowl Season’s circus. This game is not that.  Not even close.  This one is going to take place in the main ring.

For all of those teams that have come before now and those that will, in the future.. The narrative can be stopped here.  I always poke fun at some of my friends from Minnesota about the shear number of trophy games their freaking school plays for every year.. Lol. Well folks.. These are the trophy games that we play for at Ohio State.  Go Bucks!  Beat Georgia!!!

So that means we’re starting every possession at the 50?  I like it…

Comment 15 Dec 2022

Yes he did.  Right after taking over for  Erle Bruce.. Lol

Not sure who would have ever considered two defensive-minded coaches running an Arena League team was a good idea.. But they sure didn’t fair well.

Charles Christopher Spielman had a productive NFL career.  Very passionate about tOSU and pretty knowledgeable about the game of football.  Extremely high energy guy.  I’ve always thought he would have been a phenomenal coach.

As much as I want it to happen against Georgia.. I don’t think forcing the run is going to be the way to beat these guys, either..  We need to be able to run effectively and pick up the much needed first downs in short yardage situations or in instances where everyone else in the building knows that is what’s coming.. But if they can do so, then the play action game will blow the top off their Defense and hopefully allow us to hang around and perhaps even pull this one out.  I’m cautiously, optimistic about our chances.  Georgia’s defensive backs haven’t proven to be as good as last year.. So let’s get after them.

lol.. What the hell..

I mean.. I’d probably drive up there and celebrate by burning couches right in front of their stadium..  It’s a Natty.  It’s not something you just push off to the side because it’s not the chicken nuggets you kept begging your momma to order or the wrong colored toy or something stupid like that.   Celebrate that mother f’ker…

I personally watched Shawn Springs fall down in the late 90s, on a slippery field, and Tai Streets run right past him for a TD to cut a 9-0 deficit to 9-7 right before That damn team up North basically shutdown OSU’s offense for the rest of the game similarly to the way they took control this past Saturday.  They then went on to beat the Bucks in The Horseshoe under John Cooper.

Also saw Chris Speilman’s legendary, 29 tackle performance against them in the mid-80s under Erle Bruce.. Problem was it was also their worst defensive performance all year and that bastard Harbaugh was playing under center in that same game where he pretty much guaranteed a victory before hand.

Both Springs and Speilman are Buckeye royalty here..Legends isn’t a term that is un befitting either of them.  Both Cooper and Bruce are in the College Football Hall of Fame.
Now I’m not stating any of these instances, in order to make comparison that I believe Stroud is on par with either of those guys, yet.. But he’s done quite a bit during his Buckeyes career so far.  And I do believe that he has an argument to make that he could be the best pure qb in Buckeye history.  It just sucks that on the biggest of stages it has been his shortcomings have gotten magnified, when in reality it has been his strengths that have allowed us to be so dominate in so many other instances.
His momma should be very, very proud of her son.  I know I personally have thoroughly enjoyed watching him play. And I’ll get over this one.. eventually.  In about 6 more months or so.. Lol

It isn’t about what I want.. Every year that we see these rankings, the more and more they seem to almost mirror the exact rankings predictions of what the old BCS system used to be.  And that system valued wins way more than it did losses.  As of this coming week, right now, OSU and USC have similar wins over Notre Dame, but I believe our win over Penn State is better than anything that USC has.  However, next week is when it could change.  They have the chance to win the PAC12 while we’re sitting at home.  Sorry if that scares you, man.. But it’s just my opinion on where the committee is going to rank the teams.

Comment 27 Nov 2022

This is honestly where I’m at as well.  Ttun will most likely jump TCU to #2.  And we’ll drop to 4th.  It’s like you said.. The committee isn’t supposed to look ahead and credit USC for a win they haven’t earned yet, and if anything they’ve actually proven that they can and have already lost to that same team.  So I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bucks at 4th going into Championship weekend.  But since they’re sitting at home, all USC basically has to is avenge their loss to Utah from earlier.  Still a slight chance to make it but definitely need TCU or USC to lose, in order to be considered.

  1. The all-white uniforms will make it much easier for us to see their blood on our HD tvs at home
  2.  They will also allow for the skunk weasels to wave their jerseys over their heads, in surrender, once they revert back to their trademark all-quit, no-fight miserable existence.

Go Bucks!  Beat their asses!!!
