EVERY SINGLE TEAM in the NCAA, I don't care if they're Alabama or Citadel, gave up explosive plays this season. It's the nature of the game with the offenses we have today. I'd rather it be a defensive game like it used too. I could just as easily blame the fact that Day, once again, stopped running the ball even with Hayden being effective, or the fact that players were constantly confused on whether they should be on the field or not know the plays, or his inability to actually score in the red zone in the fourth as well on losing this game.

Stop the nonsense guys. The fact that we kept Georgia to ZERO points in the third quarter should have been enough for our offense to put the game away the way they were performing, but they didn't perform in the fourth either.

Ohio State gave up 533 Georgia 467

Michigan gave up 488 TCU 528

No matter how you shake it that's a lot of yards given up by all teams in the playoffs that are supposedly the best four in the nation. Michigan hung more yards on TCU and still lost. They weren't really even in that game. It was a one point win by Georgia. There are a lot moments that I can choose that would have lead to a Buckeye victory had they been different. Not all of those were mistakes on the defensive end of the ball.

How did the rest of "lesser" BIG do in the lesser bowls? I think pretty well. We beat them all. Some not so easily. And if memory serves me well, we were struggling with those "lesser" teams not because of our defense. As a matter of fact, the defense kept us in those games. It was because of the defense that we walk out of Happy Valley with a W. The fact that the narrative is now to put all blame on the defense is mind blowing to me. Day has been HC coach since 2018 and he has regressed in many facets of the offensive game, meanwhile Knowles has been here for all of a year and vastly improved very good young men on our defense who, if we're being honest, don't measure up talent-wise for us.

You guys want to analyze this stuff to a pulp yet you're not really using your noodles to do this rather are going at this on an extreme emotional basis and letting all the so-called media pundits think for you.

There’s no question CJ had the ability to do what he did last night. If the Heisman was being given out this week he would have clinched it last night. The question is why has he never used his legs before?

I had the same question except in the opposite direction with Haskins (RIP young man). He busted out a huge run during his first start against ScUM only to never run again.

So, is Day encouraging his QBs not to run? Because I could have sworn it took a huge outcry by fans and commentators for this to change.

I’m thinking Day is a little less estrogen driving than some of our fans in his thinking that this could have been done in less than 12 months especially with the Defensive room Day allowed to be depleted prior to Knowles getting here.

We hired him to fix everything in one year with half the talent of last years - namely two or three DE’s we’ve had who scared the paints off of OCs trying to figure out how to run their offense without getting their QB KO’d?

I wouldn’t call you delusional I’d call you irrational or perhaps just spoiled.

How does a crap poster on Twitter and on our boards say “this defense is worth 2 million dollars” and it ends up being a piece on 11W?

Did we say that when Coombs ran a shits storm? Or the last years of Meyers tenure when our Defense was considerably worse with more talent?

This is just insane fandom and narrative building. It’s been ONE year for Knowles. One year. And before another moron says “Hafley did it in one year” take a look at Hafley’s defensive roster in 2019 and compare it to ours.
