I believe this year’s incoming frosh were a top 5 recruiting class.?  All of which says the imbalance between recruiting and results is Holtmann-Esque. And my other point was At least Matta had good years and an inexplicable crash. CH doesn’t yet have a peak to crash  from. 

Nah. By the end of the Matta era we had a shortage of scholarship players. Guys quitting etc,,,  This year is Holtman’s best group of recruits imo. Seems like they are sticking together too. 
Matta had the ability to be a very good coach. Holtman hasn’t shown anything close to Matta’s best years. 

I still like our players. But we have a coach who seems like he should be good at coaching a div 2 or 3 team. But he has no idea how to coach with nba quality guys. He’s had them before and failed this is just the latest  edition.

Nice. Way to own it. 

For my money, the guy who gets the ball out fastest - with accuracy- is guy you want against better competition. I frankly don’t have a preference. 
I remember early fields and most of Barrett’s career screaming “throw the damn ball”. Oh wait , that was Urbs , not me. 

CH has proven he can’t win with some NBA talent. What makes you think guys off the bench will somehow achieve beyond the coach and his div II skills? I’m not saying you’re wrong because I don’t know much about those two guys. But right now we have very good  players losing to inferior talent. They often fail after time outs, and can’t get out of the first 2 rounds of tournaments year after year. This seems to indicate that the millionaire with the whistle is the problem. No?

Ttun’s offense wobbled mightily in 5 of their their games. We did too in 3.5 games (counting penn state as half ) simply ,, our defense came far in Knowles first year but not far enough. And we over committed to stopping their run and didn’t adjust to the jj McCarthy deep game. Embarrassing.  Day/Knowles need to own that so we have a speedy recovery to beating their 3 star asses again. Our recruiting will depend on it. 
Thanks god Day isn’t fishing the nfl every off season.  
We have the better program by far and should have the defense to finally get the late November/ December match ups  figured out.
Finally, Our game v Georgia was a better indication of progress than the Rose Bowl last year imho. I can re watch 3.5 quarters of that game again and again.

That was because of the talent on the floor. Not the coaching. 

They could probably do better without the coach. I’m really not exaggerating. 

This team still plays like they don’t know each other and are playing pick-up rec ball. Holtman doesn’t know how to maximize scheme for the talent he has in the floor. CH would be great at O Wesleyan. 

Holtman + NIL = Good recruiter.

I love love Ryan Day and Knowles , but this final ranking is based on their not properly scheming for scUM.  Sigh.. next year 

A fantastic um coach normally Wants to coach at um. A sorta prerequisite, no?

Fisherman , I felt exactly the same way.  Made many comments about Day playing the long game for the post  season. Lots of unfulfilled hopes of a chess game , with him holding back the Rose Bowl offensive playbook. Nope.

Then, against ttun I never expected Knowles to get exposed with the deep ball over and over.  Still we should have put up 42 points on them. 
now I’m hoping Day and Knowles  have done some soul searching and turn this thing around.  This has been the first year since the Walrus that we look stale and predictable, even in victory.

Look, we can absolutely beat Georgia. We have shown such capabilities in some points in games , then look so bad in The game twice. So it’s hard to be upbeat right now. will we play fearlessly?  
Will. we have unexpected innovative offense? I know we can. But the second half of the season created more questions than answers. Let’s go Bucks !!’

1. Knowles needs to trust the d line, I Tommy e and Steele to stop the run , and let the safeties be safeties. Big plays just killed us. 
2. the offense needs to let 7, 18 and 2 go wild like the rose bowl. And be INNOVATIVE 

We win the shoot out  if we take some chances on 4th down and stroud plays without fear.
