The good news about OSU bball... A top prospect can now reasonably hope to come here and be one and done.
The bad news... your team will only win 15 games and be a bubble team.

I've seen the Eiffel Tower and the Roman Coliseum; I've toured Irish castles and African villages; I've walked the steps of Ukrainian monasteries and Guatemalan mountains, but I've never seen anything quite like Ohio Stadium.

I think TCU actually proves that the playoff will be exciting. Not a lot of people expected them to beat TTUN. Not to mention that a lot more guys will play in bowl games now than just sitting out meaningless games.
That pitch is the path to mediocrity. That's how you WISH it was. That's how it used to be. There are plenty of places where you can do all those things AND get paid.
If you're someone at OSU who has anything to do with NIL and you don't see what's happening and make immediate adjustments, it should be a fireable offense. You can miss on one recruiting class. You can't miss on two.
Make all the excuses you want, but this is the path to mediocrity. Buying players is finally out in the open and we still can't figure it out? It's never been easier. Cash + OSU Brand = top 3 class.
You don't have to like it, but that's how this is going now. We can be as nostalgic as we want, we can give platitudes about doing it the "right way", but you can't also then want to win championships.
This is professional sports now and big markets with deep coffers consistently win.
There are great kids in this class. Just not enough to get where everyone wants to go. And another couple years to this and we will be where PSU has been for the last decade.
He had 70 total TDs in his senior season. That's wild.
All the best to him. Maybe we can take another crack at Dasean McCullough who is in the portal now...
The confusing part is that I think his Twitter handle is something like jt_tuimoloau... from the horses mouth and all.
His first pick was amazing. We can't even get CBs to jump routes like that. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it from a DE anywhere.
JSNs injury is one of more disappointing in recent memory. Such high expectations for this season for him.
As they say, a donkey is a horse designed by a committee.
If only Traynum was in the RB room. Chip/Chop isn't the worst branding.
Also, there was no Jamar Chase at Nebraska...
I'd take a smaller capacity basketball stadium...
What's going on at BC, by the way? Hafley came screaming out of the gates and they've done nothing since.
After we win can we talk about how we keep beating the top-rated defenses? ND was supposed to be good. Toledo D was ranked highly, and now Wiscy...
Sonny Styles looked good in his limited action. Much like Caden Curry has. Some exciting young guys showing flashes.
True or not, these are the nuggets I look for when coming here :) At least now there are legal ways for us to make these guys whole.
Scott Frost just got paid $15M to go away. That's a freaking phenomenal job.
Little Animal might be regretting his decision to take that job instead of the one he was offered right here in Columbus...
Ok, ok... I'm a Toledo grad, but let's pump the brakes a bit. Yes, ND lost last weekend, but there's no realistic comparison between the athleticism ND has and that of Toledo.
I keep feeling like I'm taking the counterpoint this offseason...
I think there will be more questions about the O than the D after the first game.
I think Henderson will easily surpass his stats from last season, but JSN won't.
I just think that the run blocking will have to improve and Henderson will find more room. Conversely, JSN will still be amazing, but will draw so much more attention that his number will suffer a bit. I don't think he will have a down year by any means, but I'm not convinced that he will have 1600+ yards.
There are a lot of ways Freeman wasn't wrong or bad to say what he did. He also could have said any number of things like, "I don't think anyone needs any additional motivation for this game. We know who we are and we know who we're playing. We'll be ready."
But as a first year HC heading into an historic game against the school he played for, hard to ask the guy to say everything perfectly. His earlier comments about not picking the right school were much dumber, by comparison.
I think the days of being an OL-driven program are behind us. 60 visitors on the biggest recruiting weekend in recent memory and only 4 are OL, 2 of which are unranked.
But I love every other part of it!
Is it weird that relative to expectations I'm a little more concerned about the offense than I am the defense?
If I were a great coach, I'd say OSU. If it's me as am I, I say NFL as I wouldn't wants to tank the Bucks.
