Nothing will happen. It’ll get very little major media coverage and nothing of the timing of the situation will blowback on UM at all. If it’s serious, he’ll be fired but not much beyond that. UM has an uncanny ability to stay out of the news when bad situations happen…the Fab 5 being the exception.
Technique can be helped but athleticism is what it is; especially after 4 seasons.
100%. Unfortunately when a whole division is bad, it’ll happen sometimes.
The most annoying thing is when a bad team does well…like the Giants have a number of times.
He was pretty much Lloyd Carr outside of 1997 but not successful against Ohio State. Lloyd also wasn’t facing the Ohio State teams Harbaugh was though either. He pretty much had them where they’d been prior to Rich Rod.
At this time, Harbaugh leaving. He’s winning and things are trending up there. Not as much here. Day can certainly get things turned around quickly but have to call the score what it is at the moment.
It’s not good and I agree with some of your statements. The idea that Harbaugh is somehow not a good coach was stupid 5 years ago and is today as well. Michigan is the new #1 in the B1G. I’m not sold that he’s got it in the bag, but it’s certainly not good that he’s still here. Next year is going to be tough in AA and we might be dogs there for the first time since 2011.
Someone who flirts that much will eventually cheat. Probably not the ideal situation to jump ship just yet.
Not even recency bias. Alabama was historically great prior to Saban, and even then they certainly had argument for the top spot even then. They have the two greatest coaches in the history of the sport now. They’re Everest and the rest are The Rockies.
His legacy is one of the greatest Ohio State QB’s in my mind. I agree with the OP rankings. Only Smith and Fields are higher for me. Sometimes you aren’t blessed with a good defense as an offensive player. I know he’s going to crush it in the NFL.
Good news. I didn’t think anyone in the secondary was NFL ready. Ransom is a good athlete with high potential…I just hope the coaches can help him with the other safeties to improve.
We need some defensive back recruits to jump in and make some improvements on the existing or past starters. If we don’t fix that it doesn’t matter how good our defensive line or offense is.
Awesome to see. The definition of a game changer there! One play completely changed the outcome of that game. Sweet to see an amazing Buckeye have a moment of a lifetime on the biggest stage!
I agree. They were absolutely terrible on both sides. I couldn’t figure out how they could be that bad…it almost seemed like it was on purpose.
I think we have to make this move or someone else will offer him too much to refuse at OC. I’m sure we’ll likely backfill Wilson with experienced eyes in the press box. Happy this will likely keep Hartline here for at least a few more years. Take away his groups success and this offense gets a ton worse.
I’m with you there. Getting Eich back is huge though. That front 7 was the reason we were able to hang with Georgia.
Who cares about the flintstones dinosaur.
Kern and Greene would have killed it in Coach Meyer’s offense.
I was thinking the same thing. His running was amazing in 04 and 05. He’d essentially be JT with a rocket arm if he could master the zone read. Outside of Cardale and maybe Fields, Smith had the best arm I’d seen at QB for Ohio State.
His ghost haunts from recruiting, development and scheme…it’s all encompassing.
I think it was targeting as well. Unfortunately the execution by the officials over the years have been so inconsistent that it’s hard to even pin them down how they do or don’t call it. That hit was way worse than Shaun Wade, as bad or worse than Skalsky on Fields and clearly intentional to hit high and blow up Harrison.
He does from me. I remember 2016 and how archaic the offense was. Day changed all of it.
Day just needed to hit on the DC hire in 2019…unfortunately the ghost of Kerry Coombs still haunts us.
Thankfully Urban called of the dogs that night.
