Absolutely shocking that he and Young would have had problems. It's not like those two were known for having strong, often off-putting personalities or anything...
RIP. For better for worse, the man was a legend.

Mike Brey is retiring from ND at the end of the year. There’s a perfect opportunity for all parties to save face: Holtmann leaves to coach the Domers, and we can move on to the next coach.
I’m sorry, but that is just defeatist bullshit. Matta had no problem attracting the bluest of blue chip recruits here during his peak, and the program was nationally relevant…at the same time that we also had a great football program, nonetheless. To act like this program’s ceiling is basically Wisconsin is a bunch of crap. It can be done here, and has been done here relatively recently- it just requires the right coach and a bigger investment in the program.
This game is over.
This game makes me want to drink bleach.
That was horrendous. They should consider that half a form of torture sanctioned by the International War Crimes Tribunal.
Yeah- he’ll transfer rather than go to the NBA now.
I guess if we’re going to have a collapse, go all the way with it, to the point where a coaching change is inevitable.
Yep. No tampering here, no sir-ee...
Looks like some WR might be taking USC up on their rumored offer...
Everyone is assuming Texas for AD Mitchell but I wouldnt count USC out of it yet. The buzz between Mitchell and Texas goes back further and he has a young child in the state, but UGA sources say the Trojans have been in touch with Mitchells reps in recent days

IMO, too many people on here have a 1975-1990 image of Columbus. It's not just a college town anymore. That said, the only way that Columbus would host a NFL team is if an existing team- and that would likely have to be either the Browns or Bengals- would move there. I don't see either scenario ever happening.
COULD Columbus support a NFL team? Yes. The city is big enough and has enough corporate resources to make it work. I honestly don't think pre-existing fan loyalty would be too much of a factor: I personally know people in this city who grew up fans of the Penguins, Red Wings and Blackhawks who became CBJ fans once Columbus received a NHL franchise (poor bastards...). I also don't think there are that many people who would refuse to support a NFL team here out of loyalty to OSU. People can walk and chew gum at the same time.
WOULD such a scenario ever happen? No. The 5 NFL franchises surrounding the city in a 3-hour radius would never approve a move that would end up eroding a large chunk out of their fanbases.
Precisely. Earle Bruce doesn’t get nearly the level of criticism he deserves from this fanbase (probably because he still managed to beat TTUN every other year even with increasingly talent-depleted rosters). This program was on a path to becoming irrelevant under his watch, similar to Arkansas and Texas A&M.
The word you wanted to use there is "renege". Just some friendly advice. LOL.
Spoiler Alert: It's freaking Mekka Don. No offense, but he's a glorified fanboy. He has no insight into this! This article is nothing but pure clickbait. What's next, CBS Sports, are you going to interview JBook and Sir Yacht? Copypasta a bunch of Nevada Nuggets? SMDH...
Sam Hubbard sure isn’t going to lose to John Fucking Harbaugh.
Huh? I’m not a Bengals fan, so, I’m a neutral observer here. I think Collinsworth is usually pretty positive when discussing his old team. He’s not a complete and total homer like Boomer or Dave Lapham are, but, it’s not his role to be that.
The turf at PBS/Paycor makes the turf in the Horseshoe look attractive by comparison. Typical Mike Brown cheapness.
Bungles gonna Bungle. Same as it ever was…
Eric Musselman may have been born in Ohio when his dad was coaching at Ashland, and moved back here when his dad was coaching the Cavs, but, I wouldn’t consider him an “Ohio kid”. Furthermore, you do realize that his dad was the coach at Minnesota during the Mugging, right? That move wouldn’t sit well with the old-timers, nor would it with me.
Sean Miller. We surely can outpay Xavier.
They already have.
