Probably not a popular take, but putting all the baggage and other issues aside with Zach, I do enjoy listening to him do player evaluations.

Michalski is going to be afforded every opportunity to win the LT position. It doesn't make sense to move Jackson to LT, unless the guy's competing are not going to hold up, but remember, there will be growing pains breaking in a new LT. Keeping the interior of your OL strong is extremely important to the success of any offense. I think the staff was not expecting Wypler to declare, and when he did it left them with a hole at center. They don't feel comfortable with the other options at C, so they bring in Cutler who has 21 career starts (4 at C) to shore the interior of the OL.

I’m going to go ahead and assume you’ve never coached football in Ohio. Spring practices are a must in order for players to continue to develop. Lifting and speed training are great in the Spring, but they are not good substitute for the time you could have spent actually practicing and developing players.

The Jackets are in contention for the #1 pick in the NHL Draft due the all the players lost to injury this year. I wasn't excited about the Larsen hire to begin with and think it's time to make a change. Injuries happen but there is still talent on the team and the Jackets should have more than 13 wins this year. I say can them both, nether job is safe.

I don't want to be that guy, but after what happened over the weekend with one of his players, he may be looking for way to get out of town. It's a horrible situation that Coach Oats may want to distance himself from at the end of the season.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Does Frye move Fryar to LT and have one of the more inexperienced guys like Michalski, Fitzpatrick, or Tshabola fight it out for the RT job?

Here's the 24/7 evaluation of Fryar coming out of HS

Has a big body and long arms, but athletic lower body. Rare prospect as far as having the body type and the skills to play almost any spot along the offensive line. Good athlete with a multi-sport background and flexible/skilled enough to be an outstanding high school punter as well. Bends well, gets good leverage and plays with good balance in pass protection. Solid punch and power, but can still get stronger. Has the bend to get leverage, but can play lower with more consistency. Can be a swing guy in college who plays multiple spots, but most familiar position currently as center and he offers great long-term potential there and could play beyond college after starting several years at a Power 5 program.
