I hate to be so cynical, but Lebron and his business advisors are so savvy that they know the "optics" of those donations will only add to their coffers in the end game. Image is everything. It's more of an investment to him. Unpopular, but that's how I see it....dv away!

He didn't Dark, he called him surly. Shirley he knows the guy.
I miss watching good, even dominating defensive play. A TD really meant something then. Now an offense "settles" for a FG and the defense is credited with a win. I don't need tons of points scored to keep my attention. I enjoyed the game more before it became a video game. Yea I know, username checks out. I'm good with that.
Hence, my use of the word "balance", 6 beers.
.....but hangin on!!!!!!!!!
I'm with you on that one, GTH. It's odd, seems like saying you're a SEXagenarian should have a positive connotation, lol.
Agreed. We went from the Coombs/Washington regime of musical chairs to Knowles' total lack of rotation. Where's the balance? You gotta wonder if the players are confused too.
Why would anyone think it could be anyone else? C'mon people, get with the program. ( Well done, B!).
Spot on, Dstacify. IIRC Leroux was Day's very 1st signing. I think Day was just signaling to Ohio coaches and fans that he was going to concentrate on Ohio before branching out. I live very close to where he played ball and no one who saw him play were impressed how he looked even against small school competition. Gotta be happy for Trey for his good fortune, but there's a reason he has never entered the portal.
Coombs was all style. Hartline appears to have substance. No comparison here, imo.
Your program seems to have some "destabilizing" issues of it's own. We'll just have to see how it plays out. GAME ON!
Everyone deserves the right to their own opinion here. I was ok with your 1st two paragraphs, but your last comment is beyond mind-boggling. That's MY opinion.
I was somewhat apprehensive when he was named WR coach at the time because of his lack of experience. I feel foolish now. I'm a little uncertain about this promotion also, but I know I would be totally foolish to underestimate him again.
Good for him I guess, But I don't think our Bucks will need to "scheme" for him.
Can I work from home? Trust me, a couple of beers helps me think really, really clearly.
I agree 100%, 0717. +1. Stroud was a great passer, that's unquestioned. If he had blended in even a little bit of being a running threat those accomplishments would have very possibly been reached. If so, his "legacy" would probably be him being the greatest Buckeye QB of all time up to this point. Lost opportunity,
I respectably disagree with you (and many, many more here) who contend that Day coached him to never run. I don't believe ANY HC would basically tell his QB not to take those 2/3 "free" yards and step out bounds. Stroud was a heck of a QB, but that was his mo until the finale when he totally showed-out. To think otherwise is just rewriting the history of those other 23 games. He was incredible passer and a very, very reluctant runner.
Yep CB22. I don't think Stud's "shuffling of the deck" philosophy did him (or the Buckeyes) any favors. If you have a dominate LT you're foolish not to lock him in there and build the rest of the line around that.
We're sure gonna miss him. I STILL think he should have been @ LT from day 1 regardless of the vets listed ahead of him. His time at guard felt somewhat like of waste of the talent he had to offer at a premium position. jmo
THIS personifies a " Buckeye for life". Appreciate you, X.
I don't remember reading that, but if so that would have been pretty petty of Zimmer to fault an assistant from taking that type of advancement. I could see the bigger issue being Zimmer having to answer to a former subordinate. That would be tough to swallow for anyone.
Stover's decision is the classic win/win situation. He definitely solidifies the TE room, and I believe he needs another year of experience before he's ready for the pros. ( I think he realizes that also).
The Brown's defense was so ill-prepared to start the season that Woods should have been fired after the second game. Problem was there was no one on staff any more capable. That's on the big boys upstairs. Those first 6-7 games derailed the whole season. The Off and Brissett played well enough to win 2 or3 more of those games. Completely disgusting.
You're leaving out the fact he won 100% of the NC games he appeared in, Hanawi. The NC game he led them to. Was it pretty...no. Effective?....undebatable.
I was right: Stroud would need to finally show enough toughness to give us a chance. I was wrong: I didn't think Stroud was capable of that toughness. Gut wrenching result.
