An Ohio State duo has won the ITA Fall National Championship for the second consecutive season.

One year after Robert Cash and Matej Vocel won the ITA Fall Nationals Championship, JJ Tracy and Andrew Lutschuanig kept the title in Columbus, as Ohio State won the championship for the second consecutive season. The Buckeyes' doubles team defeated the No. 3-ranked team of TCU’s Alexander Jong and Lui Maxted (6-3, 3-6, 10-4) to win the title.

Tracy and Lutschuanig began their week with a win over the No. 5-ranked duo, Oregon's Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele on Wednesday. They then took down VCU's Matisse Bobichon and Rayane Stable and 21st-ranked Max Westphal and Theo Winegar (Columbia) on Friday before beating Baylor's Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi (No. 14) in Saturday’s semifinals to advance to Sunday's championship. All five matches went three sets with the final set consisting of a 10-point superbreaker rather than a full set.

This was the third straight year and sixth time overall that an Ohio State team reached the ITA Fall Nationals championship match. With its fifth championship, the Buckeyes are now tied with USC for the most ITA Fall Nationals doubles titles all-time.

The other Buckeye duos to make the title match:

  • Scott Green and Ross Wilson: Back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2005
  • Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola: Won it all in 2011
  • Robert Cash and John McNally: Runner-up in 2019
  • Cash and Matej Vocel: Won the title in 2021
  • Tracy and Lutschuanig: Won the championship this afternoon
