Let's hope you are right. But as I saw the piece on the Today show about her, the first person that popped into my mind was Paige Spiranac --- fairly or unfairly, grown ass woman notwithstanding. This young lady at LSU is playing this for all it is worth. To think otherwise is being naive.

C'mon, Keith. I agree with many of your takes, but as it relates to this " basic young blonde college girl", that comment is laughable. Did you see the piece on the Today show this morning about her? This basic young blonde coed....is anything but.
I agree with your "creepy" assertions, buck. Let's not kid ourselves everyone......this girl and her apologists are "objecting" to the fact that she is being "objectified". Really? Take a look at many of her pics....and tell me who is enjoying being "objectified" to the tune of millions of dollars per year.
Sort of like "Lilly" of AT & T commercial fame. She hates being objectified as well and points to her Russian roots as a political organizer and resistance to oppression. Nice. Then? Look at red carpet pictures of her going all the way back to her cameos on Californication and tell me who is "working it" .
Oh it definitely was- I agree, vball. But the impact on the game was clear.
Interesting post, UA. But....eh....you think Hayden will start over Trey or Miyan -- if both are healthy? I don't see it. Inniss over Fleming? Only if Fleming hits the portal for some reason. Not saying Inniss won't get PT - maybe lots of it, but I don't see him starting.
I agree with your general premise, but I will nitpick regarding Chambers. He is among the LEAST of our worries on D going into next year. He also made a nice pick against UGA in the Peach Bowl. We know what we are getting with Steele. Not saying he is the next Ryan Shazier, but again, he is not a worry going into next season. The DBs? Yes, a concern to state the obvious.
If you are directing that at me, 76, I never said -- or I sure as hell never meant to say that TTUN has more talent than Ohio State. What I am refuting is the notion that the Buckeyes have more talent in the starting 22 than Michigan has. I think we have more than enough evidence to back that up no matter what the high school talent evals said. So, no, I do not believe they "out talent" the Buckeyes. I am simply doubling down on the opposite belief.
Your reading comprehension needs some work, dude. That bit of snark aside, I agree with your last paragraph. It is spot on and right now Jim Harbaugh is living rent free in Ryan Day's head.
Mark, there a handful of guys on your (or anyone else's) list that have a lot to prove in terms of whether they belong on the field....let alone becoming first round draft picks. And, yes, to state the obvious, I am referring to the guys on Defense not named JT or Tommy E.
You could be right about that. Levis's "day in the sun" when he played vs. the Buckeyes in the 2019 game when Clifford was hurt/ineffective, made him marketable. He singlehandedly kept that game from being a complete rout, and it created his future, even if the perceptions of him were inflated.
I see your point, footer, but Shawn Clifford was to James Franklin what JTB was to Urban Meyer. Both coaches decided that these 2 QBs were the guys they were going to battle with no matter what limitations they had on the field. In terms of wins and losses, both coaches were arguably vindicated. No matter where any of us line up in these situations, the loss of Levis for PSU and the "one and done" for Dwayne Haskins (RIP) were the prices paid for those coaching decisions.
I'd say OSU was equally talented as Georgia, 13. If the Buckeyes were more talented, they would have won the game....especially if you agree that the coaches called a good game.
No offense, midwest. But the person kidding himself as it relates to that argument....is you.
Data? High school talent evaluations are what you base your argument on and so do a lot of people. It is one data point. I am choosing what I see on the field and moreover, what the scoreboard says. You use your "data"......I'll use mine. IF the talent evaluation is truly correct, then you must also be of the opinion that every coach on this team not named Brian Hartline should be gone, don't you, especially since the talent gap is so vast? Like the Jack Nicholson meme says.....some of you "Can't Handle the Truth."
They have beaten us twice in a row and scored over 80 points in doing so. Outside of the WR and QB rooms the Buckeyes had no talent advantage over Michigan. Now.....until proven otherwise, the talent advantage in the QB room remains to be seen. Let's lay the "OSU talent advantage" vs. Michigan to rest. It's embarrassing to read.
You may be right, bull. But for now, that "bomb" is blowing up the rest of the Big Ten two years running.
Uhh......when is mid-season?
Walrus ball had multiple Big Ten and a national championship, bleed. What has Air Coryell done the last 2 years? It's OK....I'll wait. And no, putting WRs in the NFL doesn't count unless that is your program goal.
There is nothing funny in your post, stant. In fact, despite being DVd in to oblivion, there is a lot of truth (or could be) in what you speculate. My major nitpick with your post is your sole finger-pointing at Beck and Warriner for "costing OSU 1 or 2 NCs". Sure, the loss of Tom Herman and the surprising return of Cardale Jones had a negative impact on offense production and QB succession planning respectively. But....IMHO....what cost the Buckeyes a shot at a NC in 2015 had WAY more to do with a lack of motivation and players' focus in touches and their NFL draft status than anything else. Shit, even the players in interviews long after the season admitted as much either overtly or by making it easy to read between the lines. So, yes, the Beck and Warriner experiment was a mess. But I contend it was but one reason (and not exclusive) for a lost shot at a natty in addition to some shitty voting by the CF playoff committee.
Be sure to go, Squirrel. Once you make the steep climb up to the "stadium" there is nothing like it. I saw the Counting Crows there about 12 years ago. Snow fell during the show.....in June! It was pretty surreal and a great show. My daughters saw Keith Urban there. Don't miss it...
But.....can he be a long snapper too? /s
I don't really care about their NFL careers or who projects to the NFL. Stetson Bennett played QB at UGA the past 2 seasons and the Dawgs have to nattys to show for it. Even if he was the consummate "game manager" or had a good defense is beside the point. When the Buckeyes have won NCs, they have done so with experienced QBs. Even Cardale Jones had been around for a while and shocked Urbs when he decided to come back in 2015. My point is....I don't care if a guy is here for 6 years and is playing TTUN at the age of 30. What I do care about is someone who can calmly move the chains and score TDs in the red zone regardless as to whether he is a true NFL prospect ......or not.
I would not use Alabama as a comparator. We aren't in that conversation for the reasons described in this thread and your opening.
I see your point, but let's just say that Kern was not the beneficiary of a "creative" Woody Hayes Offense. I am old enough to have seen Kern play. What he lacked in modern day QB arm talent he more than made up in leadership and grit. Does he deserve inclusion among OSU greats? Hell yes. It just won't show on the stat sheets except the W-L column from 1968-70.
Yikes. Some pretty caustic commentary here. Regardless, I/we wish Ronnie all the best at the next level. I always thought he was a bit (maybe a lot) over-rated, but then again, last year he made a lot of tackles. Maybe Knowles' schemes did not fit his skill set. I think between Hicks and Stokes we will be fine. Lastly, while it surprisingly did not raise many eyebrows, I felt that Hickman's NFL departure announcement during GAME week was poorly timed. Perhaps by joining the seniors for that week's festivities, he just wanted to be clear.
