I think it's really a great fit for Devin because he can show his offensive versatility both on the interior and perimeter but will typically be asked to guard whichever of the opposing team's forwards is slower. Devin is a very solid athlete but I don't think his lateral quickness would be optimal against most college 3s.

I don’t disagree with that. Middleton is a huge yes - top 35 kid. But Swain is in your backyard 6’6” and athletic- just feel you have to take him - To me this type of kid is what has been missing at Ohio State as well as a big - then let the roster play out - you may have a kid hit the portal etc. - not sure what’s in Ohio the year after these guys....
I think that this is another huge GET! He is a 2-3 year player and it builds depth! Solid recruiting and the right kind of kid who wants to win and will make those around him better. Holtman has things rolling his direction right now. Gene signing him to the contract extension was a huge vote of confidence for Coach and his recruits.

For 2023-2023 we project to have Zed Key, Felix Okpara, and Austin Parks at the 5.
Devin Royal and Brice Sensabaugh as 3/4s, with Kalen Etzler a 6'8 stretch 4.
In my opinion a versatile wing like Scotty Middleton would be a perfect capper to this 2023 class.
Then see how players progress and how needs might develop through attrition or what have you, and use the portal
