We want Bronny.

Would take Bronny, no doubt about that - but it wouldn't be a game changer for the program. Not trying to be a hater, just attempting to have perspective.

HS

But it may help with his brother who is a good player also.. and other recruits will want to play with both

And if he goes elsewhere, Lebron might be less of a fan of Ohio State and more of a fan of that team.

If he comes to Ohio State, I feel like Lebron will come to more Buckeye games which could help with recruiting.

Go Bucks!!!

LeBron will always be a Buckeye fan unless the school does something really significant to piss him off but he will also always support his kids.

I'm going to guess that he's a silent commit - probably has something to do with Washington recommitting.

Agree to disagree... we still don't know what his ceiling is, but having LeBron at games is about as massive of a game changer as you can get in any basketball gym in the world.. It would open doors to kids that currently aren't open. Ticket sales, we'd get more national TV games etc.. Not to mention if Bronny does come and it goes well, Bryce is right behind him.

Bronny signing would be MASSIVE with capital M..

Go Bucks!!

Please don't say capital m. I hated even typing that letter, as i usually don't. Go Bucks!!!

The #41 recruit is a pretty big deal for OSU MBB program, but there also may be a hidden benefit in the days of NIL. How many recruits in his class (and maybe in the future classes) would love a connection with this generation’s biggest sports earner.  I hope he’s a great player, but there’s a lot of other ancillary advantages as well.

HS
Demosthenes's picture

May or may not be game changing, but certainly would be catalytic for the program especially when compounded with recent recruiting success. Bronny will bring more eyes and buzz to the program than anything since Oden/Conley regardless of if he is that caliber of player.

So long as Lebron doesn’t try to play backseat coach give me Bronny all day long!

HS

I'm pretty sure LeBron is a better coach than most CBB coaches.

I appreciate the tOSU love from LeBron and Bronny for sure.

Bronny, if good enough, welcome!

Dad, stay away. You've never played one second nor taken a single class. Just because you grew up in Akron does not give you full Buckeye status.

OH-IO Goodbye Columbus.

What gives you any buckeye status? Being a fucking ass hole for no reason?

HS
tcm1968's picture

its not even about being a Buckeye imo. Look at the photo of a Dad with his kid who is getting ready to head off to college and how much love and admiration there is in that photo for a son from both his parents.

That fact that they are that happy in Buckeye gear is just gravy imo.

Go Bucks!!!

I totally noticed how genuinely happy everyone looks in that photo

had no idea mom came too on the visit - that’s a big deal as she’s an Ohioan too

He gives plenty of merchandise to the football and hoop players.  He is welcomed with open arms by Gene Smith & the coaches.  As far as taking classes, well he was good enough to skip college and get a good paying job.

So only former athletes and students can cheer for Buckeyes?  Because that would cut a lot of our fan base out....

Glad this got down voted into oblivion

If he makes osu a better team then let’s go.

Stay gold, Ponyboy.

This would be huge!

We’d instantly become the most hyped and followed team in college basketball, even if only for one season.

All the top recruits these days want to go to the best, buzziest basketball brands. If Bronny comes, the 5 star recruits will follow.

HS
jonesteam04's picture

I feel tOSU has handled his process very smartly. They know his star power his so huge because of Bron so they are sitting back and letting him do his thing without putting too much public attention on him.

HS

I think Bronny is going to be a helluva college player. He keeps getting better and it seems like people want him to fail. Not necessarily this board, but I’ve read plenty of hate for his game and I don’t think it’s deserved now. He’s a legit top 50 prospect.

HS
461buckeye's picture

His being a Buckeye would be a outrageous boost for the program if everything goes right. But if it turns into a train wreck. Oh man what a ass kick for the program.

HS
OldTownBuckNut's picture

How would it be possible for Bronny to NOT do his “one and done” at OSU!?!?

Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.

HS
Bucks19's picture

He won’t be a one and done if he’s not good enough to be drafted

HS
DieselBuck45's picture

Would imagine this would be great for recruiting, Bronny has played on elite teams his whole life. Could possibly bring a few guys with him depending on roster needs. Having Lebron at some games would be huge for the program.

HS
Playful_Beginnings's picture

In a weird way. Ohio State being a football school might be of benefit to Bronny and Bryce - the microscope is going to be on them no matter where they play, but maybe just a little bit less versus some of the Tier 1 basketball programs.

HS
Bucks19's picture

IMO, he’s staying in CA or going to the D League.

HS
Buckeye Chuck's picture

I certainly don't expect this to happen, and maybe he's just humoring Pops here. Still, it's great publicity for the program and I'll take that anytime.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.

Just the attention he would garner would put OSU basketball back on the map.

Kids had ever advantage possible but still feel for him. Massive pressure. But I’d imagine he’d bring a monster class with and behind him that could lesson the load.  I’d imagine this would put Holtman in the pressure cooker as well. It could be magical, it could be a dumpster fire. But it would be anything but another dull 1 and done NCAA season we seem be at

HS
YoungBossBuckeye's picture

As a man who has his own paternal legacy to add up to, I totally sympathize and understand the pressure Bronny has. But here's the truth, if Bronny's career doesn't pan out, he and his brother Bryce will have every opportunity to make an amazing living and have everything a man could want, no matter what. LeBron is a billionaire, people. His kids are SET.

BOATS and HOES.

HS

My advice would be to play for 4 years at Ohio State and see if he can do enough to get his name and number up in the rafters. Money’s nice, but you can’t buy history.

HS
Sidney Porter's picture

He doesn't need to be a one and done or a two year player and move on to the NBA for the money (he probably more of a 3 year player). He is going to get local and national NIL money plus what ever money he gets from his dad. So he could stick around and become a college legend. But the other side is some desire for lebron and him to play together for a season or 2. One more year of HS and 4 years of college would make lebron 42

HS

If it makes OSU better I'm for it.

Does anyone realize how much pressure this kid is under? He sort of has to work his ass off not be like his dad as far as coaching from the floor and flopping and laying on the court. This kid will have to be a really rounded clean player because he is not the physical freak that Lebron is. In College and in the NBA it's are you good enough to play and not who you are. (unless you are at Iowa) LOL. The kid acts like a classy young man and seems to stay within himself. Lebron might think it's good for Jr to go away to school and out of dads shadow.

HS
RunEddieRun1983's picture

My feeling is that Bronny isn't a generational talent on the floor, but you can't help but believe his inclusion with the basketbucks does nothing but bolster the program... Have to believe super talented players are going to want to come take the floor with him, and hey, whose to say Holtman and co. don't turn him into a damn fine college basketball player?
