great job recruiting him. We need to continue bringing on players that outperform expectations. I would say everyone except for Gayle has either exceeded or met expectations. Hopefully the same next year.
Roddy was coming in with a more refined defensive skill set that could translate to D1 level. Expectations for his offensive game to improve along the way his first year. He has had two steals in each of the last two games, with 4 rebounds in limited minutes against Maryland. He has a real big upside because his offense will come around. He hustles, is engaged , whats not to like?
I love Roddy. He's excellent on the defensive end and his offense is starting to slowly come around. He gets to the rim with ease...he just needs to finish.
I'm telling you guys...I really love this roster...just don't have faith in the coaching staff haha
I think Gayle has a chance to be really good. I’m excited about him. But he was the consensus top recruit of the group. As a top 50 national recruit I would expect him to have a bigger impact. But I agree it will come. Hopefully later this season.
Texas dropping the bag for Dillon Mitchell was a godsend. Dillon is a hell of an athlete, but we would be dead in the water right now without Brice.
The kid is special. We have to capitalize on his talent and win something THIS YEAR. The 2023 class is really good, and when Holtmann got extended we all said "lets give him 2 years to see what he can do with these classes" but the reality is with NIL and the portal we have no clue who's going to stick around...there's also no guarantee a Brice-level scorer will be here next year. I know Holtmann wants desperately to turn OSU into Meijer-brand Villanova where everyone stick around for 3 years, but it's going to be tough in this era. We've got a very good roster RIGHT NOW, let's do something with it.
I'm going to be a mite snippy here and request that all the fans who want to make comments about the players at least take the time to learn their names!!!!! Roddy Gayle is his real name, and a refresher for others who comment, it is Brice.
He has been putting up numbers, ever since summer league. I wouldn’t call him slept on. Dude is a straight savage. Scoring is not a problem for him. I actually think he has a better offensive game than Branham
One season is more than enough for an elite prospect NBA talent. That’s when you know you don’t have a great coach. Holtmann seems to recruit very solid but without the X’s and O’s To go with the Jimmy’s and Joe’s the guys who grade out at the very top of the college game literally have zero reason to return

Yea, yea. We get it. He's going Pro after the season. I would too if I were him.

Has the TEAM had success too?
Ohio State men's bball has some very good players over the last few years.
Sadly that talent has not contributed to success in March.

Everybody is sleeping on Rodney Gayle he's going to be a super star the more he plays. This kid is going to be good once he figures it out.

Like to see him stick around another year
