If Ohio State has a 2-3 point lead at halftime or they're losing at halftime, SMASH that Nebraska moneyline.
I don't think this win will be a "get right" win with games against Iowa, at Illinois, at Indiana, and home against Wisconsin coming up. It's more likely they win this and then go right on another 4 game skid (at least)
Thornton is the key to the game, he has been in an extended shooting slump, he needs to focus on getting others easier shots before looking for his own.
That works, too, comes down to the same conclusion; this team doesn't have what it takes for post season play. Maybe a new coach could turn things around.
I would really like to see Sensabaugh facilitate the offense. In earlier games this season, he has shown the ability to find the open man when defenses overact to him when he's driving in the lane. The motion offense sets just suck in half court.

Problem is he’s bought into the NBA hype and is now just looking to get his. That terrible shot he took at the end of the Rutgers game when it was tied shows it.
Sensabaugh has 19 assists in 17 games, he has 4 assists in 6 conference games, he isn't suddenly going to change his game. He isn't going to give up shots, especially to Thornton, Sueing especially on the perimeter. Like I have said in other threads, this team is not getting to the foul line enough, -26 in attempts in the conference. Tanner who was one of the best in the country at getting to the foul line has been there just 4 times in conference match ups, Thornton has been there just 10 times.
The entire team has a negative assist to turnover ratio in the conference,
I've been a supporter of Coach Holtmann, but I'm REALLY wondering why he is so high on Likekele? I watched him play some at Oklahoma St and "liked" his transfer to OSU....BUT, he has done NOTHING to earn the playing time he is getting here...a starter (NO WAY)!!!
He is obviously having some issues off the court to deal with, we have no idea how this is effecting his game. We don't know if they still exist or the have been resolved. They are asking to split time as either a power forward on defense and when Thornton is out running the point on offense, not sure those are his best roles. Never thought he was going to be a star but was hoping that he could be a Young type player that does the little things well.
Yeah, Likekele was doing a lot of positive things for the team before his hiatus. Second best rebounder, second best ballhandler and passer, most versatile defender. And was occasionally scoring around the basket. Has not been the same since his hiatus.
OSU is capable of routing Nebraska by 20. If Holtmann has any motivating capabilities, given OSU's situation, that is what should happen.
Unfortunately I expect a dog fight...which is indicative of where we stand in the Big Ten. I anticipated growing pains this year, but I thought it would be because of our freshman, not because of Justice or because Holtmann preferred to bench his lottery pick so that we could play 5 minutes of a zero-zero tie against Rutgers.
I do think the Bucks prevail. But I don't expect this to be a "turning the corner" moment.
Play for next year. Gayle, Sensabaugh and Thornton all should be playing 30+ minutes regardless. Set a starting five. Don’t worry about giving minutes to rôle players like Brown, Ice, Holden etc.
Holtmans offense seems stagnant or the players are lost. Missing a dunk and 2 layups doesn’t help but no movement on offensive end is bad! Here’s to another January slump for Holtman.

"We didn't play with enough force tonight"
If Ohio State cannot beat Nebraska, they should just forfeit the rest of the rest of the season. Ohio State will win this game easily.

Nebraska is decent this year and it’s a tough place to play.
Stay gold, Ponyboy.
Pinnacle Bank Arena should be rocking, even with the winter storm warning out there.
When you can't beat Minnesota at home...there's no such thing as an easy game
"We didn't play with enough force tonight"
Nope. Unfortunately expect another close loss.
Stay gold, Ponyboy.
Doesn't hurt to dream, does it?
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. -- Michael Jordan

Win this or we done and my March Madness plans have changed...

We need an @Northwestern performance by the Bucks tonight. We also need a Sensabaugh type performance from Sueing.

Hey, on the bright side, we appear to be lumped in with the University of Kentucky basketball. Not too Shabby!
There's still the Little Dance, the NIT. But, that's an acronym for 'Not Interesting, Though.'

It thought it was "Not in Tournament?"
This is it. Don't get scared now.

Motion offense? Haha, good one!

OSUCOM 2008 Graduate. Go Bucks!

At Ohio State, Holtmann is the Eldon Miller of this generation. Same guy just 40 years difference.
Bum Juice by definition: What's goin on B? GO BUCKS!
Have said it before. Miller really knew his x's & o's. Holtmann still trying to figure it out.

This is perhaps the most important comment in this entire thread.
Buckeyes O-fer in the next 6 contests . . . might get Holtmann canned. OSU's best hope for the future!!

I would say a loss here, then there really is some big time problems, and a hot seat to go with it.

Waiting for Nebraska to go off for about 90 and Buckeyes playing with snowshoes on.
Looking rough this last minute and a half. Down 4. Why does this look vaguely familiar?
