I'm thinking the same thing. Most of the 5-star guys will be looking for the biggest bag. OSU will not play that game. So......... why bother? After watching Matayo, Keeley, etc recently, should OSU adjust its recruiting strategy? Or will they adjust their NIL strategy? Something has to change or the 2024 class will end up like the 2023 class. And maybe that's not a bad thing. Still had a top-10 class and a high average rating. Is that good enough?

Yes, we signed a bunch of talent. But, we also signed a tiny class, aren’t adding any non kicker talent through the portal, and are losing basically every 50/50 recruit to someone else.
Yes, we lost a bunch of decommits and gained nothing on signing day. Urbs always poached 1-4. Day is too nice to do that.
Forgive me if I’m skeptical of “top portal safeties” after we got one tailored perfectly for our defense last year. How’d that turn out when it mattered? I complain when it’s warranted bro.
Ok top portal safety counts. However we seem to be losing out on O-Line left and right. Also the CB situation seems to be looking bleak. It is ok if someone wants to complain...not everyone comes from the land of rainbows and unicorns like you. At the end of the day from recruiting to poor DB play, weak special teams and two in a row losses to michigan I think it's ok to have some opinions. Does that mean everything is bad...of course not...but it also doesn't mean people should get butthurt when someone calls out a weakness on an anonymous internet forum. At the end of the day there are some obvious glaring weaknesses going on at OSU...and if you can't see that fine, but seeing only what you want to see makes for lame piss poor conversion with no objective thoughts and pure confirmation bias.
My comment was completely based on his statement of NOT signing any non kicker talent in the portal. I’d say a player considered the best one at safety is a good non kicking talent but I’m looking at it thru sunshine and daisy’s so what do I know.
I feel the same. What does an early commitment mean anymore when the NIL offers start flying close to signing day and a kid (and their family) start second guessing their earlier decision? I'm certainly paying less attention to the recruiting guru's these days. About the only thing they can offer these days is if a recruit has serious interest in OSU. Saying that the kid is "leaning" a certain way or predicting the school where the kid will end up don't mean much today. The kid is one NIL offer away from a change of mind.
Top 3 priorities are 1. getting the NIL program fixed 2. getting the NIL program fixed 3. getting the NIL program fixed. Otherwise, stop giving out useless offers just to be considered one of 10 for recruits.
Recruiting analysts will need to start gauging the NIL game to see who we are serious locked in on and who is seriously considering us (instead of just being a temporary place holder or another hat on the table)

I'm interested in the Armstrong twins out of St Ed's. Athletic OL that are adding weight and growing into their 6'6/6'7 frames. I bet they get a very close look at summer camp. They have visited several times.

Hard to get excited about this kind of news in today's game. With Nil and transfer portal it feels like it doesn't matter much.
