This was impressive to witness. I have been a women's bb fan for many years and had season tickets during the Katie Smith era (before and after too). Since then, I've watched a lot of games on television and cannot remember defense being played on such a high level, especially when you consider the opponent. That press, especially in the third quarter, was like a wave that completely engulfed the Vols and they could not figure out how to escape it.
Well done.
This is a fun team to watch with their uptempo (understatement) style, and this year holds a lot of promise.
Wow....I've never seen the Lady Bucks look better. I have a hard time watching women's college ball because frankly it looks like they just chuck the ball up like 5th graders with the exceptionof UCONN. But this game was Supreme. Both teams shot well. Looked good on layups. And what a super fast pace. I'm so impressed. Even in the first half, I felt like if the Bucks just hit some of those baskets they'd be good. That third was shark frenzy. I'm excited to watch them play more.
HUGE to get Mad Greene back, Last year it was the Sheldon, Mikesell show in the backcourt. They were asked to do soooooo much. With the return of Green and additions of some other guards, we can rest Mikesell and Sheldon and still give teams the business. This team can make a deep deep run. I am still concerned about the frontcourt production but damn them guards are good.
It was only one game, but Mikulasikova looked a lot better too. The only shortcoming (see what I did there) that I see on this team is a lack of height. That was a problem last year when they got to the NCAA, and ran into a team like Texas that had lots of height, as well as a skilled guard or two. Lots to be excited about with this team.

Tennessee gave them problems in the first half with their height but then lost their composure in the second half due to the relentless pressure. At some point, the Buckeyes got so far into the Vols heads that they couldn't perform.
Totally agree. TN's height might have continued to be a problem for us, if they could ever get the ball in to their bigs, which they could seldom manage in the 2nd half.

It's obviously a more talented and deeper team than last year. It's so nice to have athletic forwards for a change, they'll be better for depth and rebounding, plus the guards are really strong. Not a tall team by any stretch they'll rebound by being quicker to the ball. The ten is deep and talented but if there's a better team than this one, they will have to be really good to beat this team. Mikulasikova really put in the work over the off season, she's much improved and it looks like she may have lost some weight and it shows in her foot speed.
This is a really nice squad, it will be fun watching them all year.

Great win needless to say but 15 turnovers and 58% from the charity stripe is shaky. Need to work on the FT's as it may cost you heavy in crunch time.

I watched a little bit of this game, and it was a massive second half. I approve of the tough scheduling, but it's nice to win too.
