"Credit to Coach Day, his staff and their players. They're playing at a high level and there's a reason why they're ranked No. 2 in the country and they found a way to win today."
He’s not wrong, you know. No one ever thought the ‘02 or the ‘14 team would’ve won the Natty!!!! Praying that we’re having another one of those years!!
Tell me that after the last three games that you can honestly say you are not concerned about the running game, the offensive line, and the play calling. Tell me that what we have all observed the last three games will work against ttun.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Over the years I have watched many a prolific scoring pro team in the NFL win 14-7 in weather conditions like this in November and December. Yes I am "concerned" about the running game. But I also am quite aware that both Day and Wilson are pass happy. Makes me think that the coaches spend much more time in practice on Pass protection than in blocking schemes for the run game. What is the expression: it is what it is. I don't see Day and Wilson changing their stripes. BTW would you like to be a Clemson, Alabama, Tennessee or egads a Oklahoma or Texas AM fan today, all who lost yesterday? As for me, I am celebrating being 9-0.
I was in the stands today, and it sounds like you were too. Brutal wind conditions. Doesn't excuse anything, but it was rough. Many catchable balls dropped by our receivers, thank goodness we have a running QB.
Well maybe they do, and maybe they spent so much time practicing in it they were able to play the #2 team in the country to a statistical draw (actually they owned us in 1st down conversions and TOP). But the most important number is the final score.

I completely understand your concerns…. Same as mine! But, the next two games, hopefully we improve greatly. It’s crazy frustrating, because we all know what this team is capable of. But at least, we still have everything in front of us!! Win out, and we’re “Golden”!! Football ain’t easy!!!
I to am concerned about our running game. It isn't just cause of the weather in Sat. game. The last few games had same result. OSU is loaded with 4 and 5 star talent, but they get out played in the running game. Then there is our defense. Though much better than last 2 years, I'm still concerned that we constantly give up 5 plus yards on 1st and 2nd downs defending the run. We are not going to beat tsun letting them do the same. That concerns me greatly as it should you all. Defense needs to improve stopping the run.
Northwestern had a good game plan today, and executed well. With that stated, even on an off day, Bucks have another double digit win. Go Bucks, keep grinding and figure things out over the next two games.
Heard coach Fitz stood silently still until the last 6 seconds of the press conference before he offered any comments. Man is disciplined as is his team.
I was at the game and I can tell you that it looked almost impossible to throw the ball when moving toward the south end zone (1st and 4th quarters for OSU). Going with the wind any longer passes that had any air under them just sailed. Kicking into the wind was tough also. Ruggles’ last extra point might not have been good from 35 yards. Going the other way the punters were blasting kicks 60-70 yards with ease.
We took our 9 year old grandson to his first Buckeyes game, so all was good. Walking back to the car after the game thru the streets of Evanston you would have thought you were in Columbus. Lots of scarlet within 4-5 blocks of the stadium.
^^^ Unless you were at the game today I can’t emphasize enough what a factor the wind was. Any punt or kickoff into the wind was ugly. Even trying longer passes with the wind was tough because the ball just seemed to ride the wind and sail long. I’d love to know what the yardage gained was for both teams with the wind vs. against the wind.
Today’s game was far from a thing of beauty but the weather was a great equalizer today. That’s not an excuse but a fact as Bull pointed out.
Thank God Fitz doesn't have comparable talent. I fear we are in for a long day against a certain team up north that is only largely out talented instead of massively out talented like the rest of our opponents.
ok, please tell us at what record you would be proud of the team you coach for going out and giving the #2 team in the country all they could handle. The dude is pure class as a college coach and works for a terrific institution with outstanding academics. Try winning with a little class.
They crammed as many dudes in the box that could fit knowing that the Buckeyes would have a hard time throwing... Simple enough game plan that they were able to pull off.

I put more credence to that take by coach Fitz than the incessant whining going on this site today.
Tough road win in horrible conditions....smile and be glad you weren't in the stands for this one.
Go Bucks!!!

Dude you was concerned prior to them 3 games. Do you ever celebrate a win or just piss on them?
I’m very concerned. But if you look around the country, no one looks flawless!!! Tis college football!

I think everyone's concerned but we aren't ugly crying. Wah wah wah
I hope Michigan never wins another game.

Pretty sure Hoosiers and Terps have a game plan already, too.

Do they have a wind generator?

Someone knew about the '02 group.

Weather can be a great equalizer, especially when one team effectively plans, executes, and fights through the elements, while the other team doesn't.
Still, a win is a win. Bear down and focus on improving in preparation for the challenges ahead.
The next game is always the most important game of the season.

We knew the weather would be bad. But our coaches tried to pass. And Soft coaches blame the weather
A fan since the Randy Gradishar days
No, soft coaches lose and blame the weather. He won and said a FACT.

I said this exact thing to my family. I guaranteed them once we.got back in our car that TV could never do justice to what that weather was like.

Possibly, but that team is currently getting beat by Rutgers. It's a great day in college football.
Give credit to Fitzgerald and his staff, they knew what the weather would bring today and planned accordingly. Imagine if ours had done the same...
Proud of a 1-8 team......gee.....lol

Let’s knock off the whining and complaining. That weather was a neutralizer.
Our ND win is looking better and Bama done!
On to IU. Hey, one more loss, and Bama may not make the playoff. I got them at #4. What heart!
IKR!?! "Tough" road loss.
