Watching the highlights the quick throws decreased as the season went on and especially on 1/26. Will NEVER understand the playcalling on that day. #Biletnickoffwinner2023
Nashville is an Alabama town. Pretty much equidistant from Knoxville and Tuscaloosa. It’s why you’ll see me refer to it on posts here as Nashville Alabama.
I'm surprised to hear him say it. We all know he deserved it, but sometimes in life things aren't fair. Show a little humility and prove it in the playoffs!
I mean he said it in about as respectful a way as you can without trashing the other player. He just said he thought they were wrong. I have no issue with a guy being honest.
Thing is, he has proven it all year, what difference does another game make? He could have a big game in a loss and it is forgotten to whatever caused it. If they win than it will be remembered positively but it is even more relative than the regular season would be.
I'm not. He didn't put anyone else down. He didn't disparage anyone. Worst case, he puts all the pressure on himself in the Peach Bowl while taking that pressure off the other WRs, TEs, RBs, and even Stroud. Now it's all on him, and the "others" (most of whom are 4 or 5-star talents in their own right) can go ball out knowing the focus will be on the best football player in the country.
And we all know Marv is going to get his even with the pressure. So let's ball!
This is something I always wonder, even though I know the answer is pretty much "schedules don't always align and the mindset of each person is different" but here goes:
Harrison Jr. is a stud. His production and talent is apparent to everybody who watches him on game day. If he's in the WHAC putting in this extra time and the success is speaking for itself, why aren't we seeing the other receivers in there with him putting in the extra work? I'm not assuming they don't put in extra work but this story about Harrison Jr's work ethic has been shared all season and I haven't heard the same about our other guys.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
I wish I knew what I know now when I was a collegiate athlete. I would have been doing exactly what he’s doing. Apparently he’s a little wiser or more mature than his counterparts. Probably has something to do with a HOF father instilling that work ethic into him. I, like you, wonder why after seeing all of his success we aren’t hearing about his teammates emulating him. You’d be dumb not to! Maybe they put the time in elsewhere. Maybe they think they are “good enough”? I dunno. Only they know.
I'm down with that plan!
Can't wait for Marv tear it up in the CFP, and as a Junior next year, also he'll be carving up defenses in the NFL without a doubt! I'd put good $$$ on Harrison's draft status being higher than Hyatt's and that's not just Fandom talking, that's reality.
At current trajectory, Harrison could become the first receiver taken number one overall since (I think) Keyshawn. He'd be the first wideout off the board by a wide margin this year.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
First, you're likely correct. Of course Williams would be the top pick over all. Harrison is the best WR to come out in a long time and if anyone has the talent to break the trend that the first pick is for QB, LT, or Edge only, it would be him.
I'm also accepting that it would need to be a special situation where a team has their QB but also still lands the first overall pick. Number one is probably a stretch.
Number 2 wouldn't be....man I wish he could come out this year because a certain NFL football team that holds the #2 pick could really use an upgrade at WR.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
He couldn't be more right. If we're just going to give the award to the guy with the best stats, why have voters? Presumably because voters might watch games and see how those stats were obtained. And there is no doubt in my mind that Marv was the best WR in the country this year.
I think that 5 td performance against Alabama in the national televised game carried much of the voting weight. I agree with Harrison though. In light of both of their outstanding performances and contributions it may have been prudent to have a split award, because there is really no clear separation between the two.
Well could be the loss [again] to ttun. Right, wrong, indifferent. Just like CJ ranking 3 in the Heisman.
Take in the disrespect and apply it, come 12/31.
People talking about Hyatt say he was good. One of the better ones that Tennessee has had in awhile. Seems to be wide open a lot but talented. Same people talking about Harrison say he might the best one ever. He might be better than his HOF dad right now. I don’t know about ya’ll but I see a difference. I’d say marv is right.
MHJ is what happens when you combine elite talent with remarkable work ethic. It’s a joy to watch. Here’s to hoping he balls out to finish the season and comes back even better next year.

I know there are still at least one, if not 2 huge games left, but can't help but think about McCord to Marvin next season. It has been 2 years since McCord last threw to Marvin in a meaningful game. I imagine the 11W team can't wait to ask questions to Kyle like: how different is it throwing to Marv now then it was back in HS? Here's hoping Kyle will be throwing to the MVP of the CFP!
I watched Tennessee play a few times and about 98% of Hyatts catches were uncontested with him running down the field. QBs are penalized for being system guys, why doesn't it apply to WRs?
Negativity is a choice I seldom make. Everything has a positive spin. Sometimes you simply have to look a little harder
He absolutely deserves the award, but this is the trade-off when you come to Ohio State to play at WR. You always have AT LEAST one other NFL caliber receiver playing on the other side of the field, so you won’t have the eye-popping stats as some of the guys playing in a lesser talented room. Screw the media and their nonsense, bias/political driven awards. They won’t mean a damn thing when he’s a HOF inductee…And he WILL be.
Hopefully all this feeling slighted and disrespected sets this team on fire and they play angry. We really haven't seen much since the bye week, time to prove everyone wrong.
Marvin...you did deserve it...I wish I could get beat the shit out of the back stabbing... Mother...Fuckers....you worked your ass off...sir...but still have my voodoo dolls...the spell...is...on...hope their damn teeth rot off at... the gums...and...their ass burns for weeks...after taking a dump...Go Marvin...Go Bucks
Marvin is one of the greatest Buckeyes I have ever had the privilege of cheering for. Everyone knows he is by far the best receiver in America. If not for the anti-Buckeye bias surrounding the award (e.g. I believe neither Olave nor Wilson here finalists last year). he would have won it easily.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
He does loose me at deserved regardless of how politely he said it. Deserved needs to be shelved along with respect and unfair. Its an award that no one is entitled to. Go out there and get NC my man, you may not deserve it but you certainly can earn it.
Yes you did deserve to win it. You absolutely did. Many factors in these national awards. Tennessee had the total spotlight then they had a double meltdown. We have the 12/31 playoff game against Georgia. They have a consolation game against Clemson. While you were absolutely the best, that young man played great on the biggest stage. We have something great ahead and he doesn't. So, they gave him the award.
You can win it next year and in about 3 Weeks you can hug and lift a national championship trophy above your head towards Heaven. Do that and you and your brothers / teammates are the real / big winners.
You are loved and certainly respected.
Hyatt has opted out of their bowl game to chase a dollar. That's not a winner in my book.

Screw the Biletnikoff! You got a tree in Buckeye Grove and you are the FIRST unanimous All-American wide receiver at The Ohio State University!
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. -- Michael Jordan
As seen in the past, the best player doesn't always win the award. Awards can get political, especially when ESPN is running the show.
Silver to Silver: There may be more than one deserving player to win any position award, sometimes several.
Marvelous Marvin Harrison has the right attitude-- he was deserving to win, he had proven himself worthy to win, and another worthy player got it.

Is Marv the only consensus all American WR in the country ?
No. Jalin Hyatt (TN) is also a unanimous All-American winner.
P.S. You live in Nashville and didn't know that?

Reading the entire quote, he doesn't come across as bad as 11 Warriors makes it appear with their header.

No shit. What did you expect him to say. "I didn't play well enough to win"

That might not be a bad idea, go and ball out and leave nodout!!

There seem to be a lot of pissed off Buckeyes heading into the CFP Semi finals. Lets focus it towards UGA!

He isn't wrong. He stats were slightly lower, but he routinely made circus catches look easy. He has an incredible set of hands.

Remember when he kept sliding down recruiting ranks because he "was too tall" and couldn't camp because of covid?
Well he's right. But he has this year to go out an do it again. Should be as a repeat winner but SEC bias is disgusting

I agree. Just take it out on Georgia and score 6 TDS……. because that’s what we may need to win. Then, on the The Game Redux!!!

TRUE. Marvin Harrison Jr does deserve the Biletnikoff.
I'd like to see him show any doubters against the Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl.

I think these individual awards get way too much attention. It's a team sport. We win or lose as a team, and that's all that matters.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who’s the top WR in the draft and future hall of famer, and who is Jalin Hyatt.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Pretty soon we'll have to change the name from WRU to NFL-WRU
"Put ya' weight on it"
Jalin Hyatt winning it would've been like Devin Smith winning it. Runs the best go route, but best receiver?
