The penalties yes!!!! I don't understand (looking at you Gee Scott I believe) headbutting out of bounds. These guys should know better IMHO. I get its a rivalry and chippy but come on.
Pass defense played badly , run defense for the most part played VERY good for 3.5 quarters but you could tell the starting rotation was getting gassed on the DL
Because if he’s out walking on crutches and in a giant boot people will figure it out. Might as well get it out there now straight from the horses mouth
I hope this take is not controversial: why are amateur athletes playing through injuries? This surgery should have happened during the regular season to give Henderson an opportunity to be back to full strength for a run at the Heisman and 1st round draft stock next season. I refuse to agree that an injured Henderson gave us the best chance to win. I did not see poor running from Hayden and Trayanum.
I was saying all season that the RBs were not practicing and it showed early in games.
I will say it here again, Miyan Williams should not play. Let him get healthy for next season. Why risk or worsen the injury. It is not worth his long term career. Feature Chip Trayanum and/or Dallan Hayden the ball. It was clear that something was wrong with the way Williams and Henderson went down at the slightest touch at the line of scrimmage, because they were favoring injuries. The O-line will not block it all, the RB should defeat/break some tackles.
This game calls for healthy and hungry RBs. Trayanum and/or Hayden should tote the rock!
After hearing he had a broken foot bone I wasn't surprised. After following the Jackets all these year broken bones in the foot is minimally 6 to 8 weeks and that's with no activity. It's really going to impact us on having speed from the backfield on the outside. Seeing him catching screens or passes in the flats and allow.him to work in peace may have really loosened up the receivers coverage. Williams and Chip doesn't give me the impression that's their best utility. I would hope for Hayden to step in, but since he was under utilized in the Michigan game, well little hope there.
Oh crap that really sucks--was not expecting this much more bad news. Ohio St. and fans can use some good news any time now. Hopefully he fully recovers quickly but this hurts our chances.
I'm not disagreeing--was just more hopeful he would be fully healthy based upon Day saying the thought everyone but JSN would be back full force basically. Shoulda known better based upon other health updates throughout the season.
People need to quit listening to coach speak like it's gospel. He also said the only reason JSN came out of the game was because he was on a pitch count. This site even perpetuated that myth.
I actually think Henderson having surgery now is the best thing. The sooner he gets it over with, the sooner he can start rehab and be ready to go for next season. Even if he did try the play against Georgia he was going to be a shell of himself given the injuries he's fought through.
Should have been made in the 4th or 5th game imo. Why keep running a guy out there with a broken foot? Both feet are needed. Same with JSN you don’t let guys “give it go”all f’n season that are obviously not 100%. Pretty stupid imo. Corum gave it a go once, that’s it. Much better to have guys fully healthy despite talent level.
Not sure why they kept running TreVeyon out there with a broken foot. Training staff and coaches sure look like fools trying to run a race car with a flat tire.
Same with how the JSN situation appears to have been bungled. This needs to be looked in to. Major black eye for the program on how they handled two of our biggest stars’ injuries.
You do realize that they can only recommend what the players should do, they cannot force them to get surgery, etc. The only question is why they did keep trying to play them, they do control that.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Correct. They cannot force a player to get surgery. But they do control when they play or not. That call is usually made on the physician. If a physician says a player can't do any more damage, that's one thing. But you do have to question the medical staff given how two of these great players were put in situations that at best were questionable. Parents notice things like that. I think they're definitely should be a review of the medical protocols in place and see if changes need to be made.
Buckeye media covered up Treyveon injury status just like SCUM media covered up the SCUM players felony gun charge. Treyveon was hurt after the Toledo game with a broken foot, torn ligaments or some other injury. OSU doctors should have told Day and staff he was not able to play yet he was allowed to play in games exacerbating his injury. Day and Alford didn't listen to the doctors recommendations then it's on them. I want to know the protocol of injured players. They might have jeopardized Henderson's safety and well being by allowing him to play. Ohio State would have just been honest and disclosed he was unable to play during the early part of the season.
You can blame the entire media world, or you can blame the coaching staff (Mainly Ryan Day) that decided this season to never be truthful or forthright about injuries.
"Champions don’t do extraordinary things, they do the ordinary things better than anybody else" - Chuck Noll
Agreed. Henderson handled it like a warrior - he went out there and did everything he could every time they called his number. Why Alford and Day kept thinking it was wise to send a gimpy Tre out there, not only from an injury mismanagement standpoint, but from a strategic error standpoint, remains a great mystery. Henderson was hurting and ineffective for most of the season. Why were the two guys closest to the situation the only two who couldn't seem to grasp the obvious truth? A real head scratcher.
Not sure why they kept running TreVeyon out there with a broken foot. Training staff and coaches sure look like fools trying to run a race car with a flat tire.
You have zero clue about the injury and what was going on behind the scenes
The next decision that needs to be made is to ban field turf. The NFL players are already calling for banning the exact turf Ohio State just installed because of the increase in these types of injuries on it. Football is made to be played on grass. It looks better and it’s safer.
I want grass too, but I was at OSU during the last grass season (2002), and it was a mess. They had to replace the field (or at least the middle part of it) twice during the season and it never fully rooted. They have argued that the stadium could no longer support a grass field after the 2001 renovations.
I’ve heard that too. I don’t necessarily buy it. I’d like to see the athletic department actually come out and say it if it’s true. I’m guessing that there are many strains of grass that require less sunlight at this point.
If it was a mess, then they need to figure out how to not make it a mess. If the Arizona Cardinals can use a rolling field that sits outside in the sun, why can't we? If we are to believe we are starting to fall behind in recruiting due to NIL ( I am not convinced we are but..) we don't need ANOTHER reason for recruits to spurn us for a team that uses a real grass field.
Disclaimer - I’m not a college athlete, but I understand delaying surgery. I suffered a bad sprained ankle several years ago. X-rays showed no break, but I was in a brace for a couple weeks. 3-4 months after that, I started on a much needed health kick. I started walking religiously every day, averaging between 13-14K steps every day for 14 months (I dropped 85 pounds).
During this time, I noticed ankle pain if I stepped the wrong way, sometimes intense. My ankle also felt “off” when walking on uneven surfaces - like when cutting the grass or looking for my golf ball in the rough (a common occurrence lol). About 13 months into my walking journey, I’d had enough. I went to see an orthopedic doctor, who ordered an MRI. Turns out I had a torn perineal tendon, cartilage damage and ligament damage. I thought before the exam that if I iced the ankle and took some Advil for the occasional pain, I could just push through. Not the case. My ankle never got better, and wasn’t going to ever get better without surgery.
Why did Henderson wait? He thought he could push through. He got hurt against Toledo. He came back and played the next week against Wisconsin and had a good game - 21 for 121. He sat out against Rutgers, then came back against Sparty, again having a good game - 19 for 118. After the bye week, he tried again against Iowa and Penn State, but didn’t look like himself. That play/rest/play thing seemed to work at first, but going consecutive weeks showed he needed more than just rest. He tried again in the MD game, and aside from the one long reception, didn’t have it.
Nobody likes to have surgery. You do what you can to avoid it. I commend Henderson for trying to push through, and I don’t blame him one bit for trying to avoid going under the knife. You never know what can happen. Truth be told, my ankle surgery didn’t go flawlessly, and I have issues to this day.
"You ever hear of the saying "you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." - Raylan Givens
Including the threat of CJ. Most games I'm ok with him not running but we needed him to in The Game and he faltered. Time to make up for it. Time for this team to be tough instead of talking about it.
Every living OSU fan has a winning record against TTUN.
Throw in Xavier Johnson too. X-Man does good things with the ball. I'd like to see a wildcat formation with him. I wonder if he can throw the ball. I know, I'm crazy. Let's throw everything at the Dawgs. Why not? Could be our last game.
I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to win football games-- Woody Hayes
We would be the team to run a formation and there only be one possible play out if it too. DEFENSE: " They're in the wildcat again, time to crash the safeties, its is going to be a run for sure."
It’s the smart move. Get right. Fighting through this all season is dragging production down and stopping him from hitting his potential. I respect him trying to play through this all season but if you can’t plant your foot, you can’t play RB.
Fitzbuck | Toledo - Ohio's right armpit | "A troll by any other name is still a troll".
It’s the smart move a couple months late. If it was that bad (that he wasn’t practicing) he shouldn’t have been playing. Other players could have had valuable game reps and we could be talking about whether he’d be back post-surgery for the playoff instead of finally being pulled before it.
Yeah, you don’t generally come back quickly from foot and/or ankle surgery very quickly. I had ankle surgery 4 years ago - tendon/ligament repair and micro fracture for cartilage damage. For 6 weeks after, I did nothing other than sit in a recliner with my foot (in a cast) propped up on 2-3 pillows for 23+ hours a day. That was followed by wearing a boot for another month and a brace for a month after that, along with 6 weeks of PT just to get back to walking. My leg was noticeably atrophied when the cast came off.
Henderson was well enough to go for 120 yards against Wisconsin a week after getting hurt, and 118 against Sparty two weeks later (after sitting out against Rutgers). After Sparty, his production started to deteriorate (look at his first 5 games). Apparently, before then, doctors and coaches felt he was well enough to play. I can’t imagine Day and Alford going against doctors and playing Henderson if they said “no”. If they waited until after Sparty or Iowa to consider surgery, he’d likely be looking at mid-late January before he’d have been cleared. As it is now, I’ll be surprised if he does much during spring practice.
Well. Probably for the best. To put a player out there less than healthy is never good. Trey got too side to side and 3 19 and 5 are all better at north and south. Heal up 32!
Poor guy. He definitely didn't deserve all the vitriol thrown his way about his performance this season considering he was playing on only one functioning leg...
"There is a force that makes us all brothers, no one goes his way alone." --Woody Hayes
Yeah, I wonder if it was a combination of all those factors. He probably had the desire to keep playing and the coaches wanted him out there because of his reputation and ceiling. The injury seems to have been a cumulative one too, where he didn't start out as a fracture/torn ligaments, but all the premature returns to the field kept aggravating and worsening the initial damage. This one's on the medical/training staff for not just putting the kibosh on the whole thing to let Trey heal, but as a healthcare provider myself, I know it's tough to tell somebody "absolutely not".
"There is a force that makes us all brothers, no one goes his way alone." --Woody Hayes
To be clear, Henderson's health matters the most and sounds like he has definitely tried doing what he could but what could have been with a fully healthy team this year....our O-line opening up holes for the other RBs is going to be the key aspect. Will need to play their best game as a unit all year.
He gave it his best shot even if it wasn’t appreciated. Heal up young buck. Man I hope miyan is full go along with Dallan and chip. Injuries made this year challenging to say the least.
Props to Tre for battling through it this year. Overall, it's what he needs to do and this is ABSOLUTELY the best thing for the Buckeye's chances against UGA. A hobbled Henderson wasting downs and eating up snaps that could be used on a (hopefully) healthy Chop, Dallan, and Trayanum. I don't care what combination we use but those guys need to build momentum throughout the game. Slobs get out there and make holes, RBs gash north /south!
Let's go Buckeyes! For the pride of Ohio, B1G, and all Northern schools...KICK GEORGIA'S ASS
I had a bad feeling this is what Day was alluding to with Trey in his press conference earlier today. It had the same JSN sound to what he said. Not surprised by this and feel for him. Hope Trey has a smooth surgery and comes back even stronger next year.
"Enjoy every Buckeye victory, cherish past Buckeye championships and look forward to future Buckeye victories and making special memories" -Chad
The hits just keeping coming for this team. They are injury prone, soft and poorly conditioned. It is going to take an effort never submitted by this team all season to beat Georgia.
When a HUGE person falls on your foot and breaks bones and tears ligaments in it, that has absolutely nothing to do with being "soft" or "poorly conditioned." TreVeyon shouldn't have played in another game after the Toledo game so he could have healed properly without having to be surgically repaired.
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. -- Michael Jordan
Maybe he should have had surgery when he was first injured. Perhaps he could have returned for the end of the season. If not, he would have at least been 100% healthy for Spring ball.
Second, who is clearing these dudes to play? If he was never the same since Toledo, why on earth is he carrying the ball 21 times the next weekend?
You can say the same thing about JSN being rushed back..,,
Toledo was Sept 17th... next game where we would need our starters wasn't until Penn State, Oct 29th.. could have been healing up and instead carried the ball 50+ times before the Penn State game....
You raise an excellent point, TCM (love your moniker, BTW).
I want our guys properly healed, recovered, maintained, trained, and PT/OT'd.
I'm at a loss to figure, who is more responsible? Is it S&C? Is it Medical? Is it both?
The lesson here is that you let the men heal a week or two extra, because nagging injuries libger longer, and these men will feel it a decade or two later. That, and we want these men at best, feeling their best, each and every game. You don't get "Nine Units Strong" nor "Macte Virtue" when they're rushed out like fresh meat for the slaughter.
He isn’t soft at all. I’m not advocating for that. I have mad respect for him.
Side note, this is the second mention from you of “Say it to his face”. Let’s not pretend he’s an offensive lineman here. No one is pretending to be an internet tough guy here I hope.
Well said..however you are looking at a crud load of whiniers on this site. That is ALL they do from behind their keyboards - big blustery chest bellowing comments. Do better people! Go Bucks!
Always seems like we go into our playoffs games with our offensive playmaker banged up or not playing at all. Fields and Dobbins in 2019, Fields and Sermon in 2020, and no JSN and Henderson in 2022. And It always seems like the other team has all of their guys completely healthy
Get well, as running back you need your wheels. It was clear he has been hurt all year. I give him credit for trying to fight through it. But the smart thing to do was sit out and get 100% healthy. I'm a human being first and a fan second, players trying to tough it through major injuries do no one any good. We are the Ohio State next man up the bottom line. Hayden you're next, run Hayden run to the end zone.
I'm sorry for Henderson. It really is hard when injuries hit, both for the player, and for the team. Hope he comes back strong and fully healed next season. It probably would have been better if he had shut everything down right after Toledo.
I'm curious: is your hatred strong enough that you're happy Coum is hurt, and hope the same thing happens to Edwards?
Honestly, I don't recall a single post that didn't wish Corum well -- or at the very least, not wanting Michigan to have any excuses for our GAME. Oops. He seems like a great kid - I hope he has a nice NFL career. It's a cold world out there.
I’m glad he’s getting this done. He was clearly playing in significant pain and wasn’t himself. He sure is a tough dude. Hopefully he recovers well and can come back healthy and can play to his potential.
Trey, you've done almighty work, as banged up as you are. You owe no one any explanation, as we mere mortal men would wince at just a hairline fracture.
The surgery option is a smart choice, given time and healing. We all pray for a speedy recovery, great rest and PT/OT.
About the only other thing to say, is that I hope you still travel with the team, and enjoy the Peach Bowl (and hopefully The CFP Championship after).
Not surprised that there were people questioning his heart because he was ineffective. Only for the exact opposite to be true. This fanbase continues to show its ass.
Dude battled all year on one foot and some fat dork with a man cave had the balls to say he was soft this season. I bet you were sick in 98 when you played for Lucasville Valley.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
That's fans for you: they love it when players "play hurt," but they also expect those hurt players to show absolutely no loss in effectiveness. And if they are (predictably) less effective, they get called "trash" and have their desire questioned.
I'm disappointed to see this, but I'm not surprised. That's how this season has gone for this Buckeye team. I don't know, but how would a healthy JSN, Trey, Mattew Jones with DBs who had gotten to play regularly have changed this season?
I'm hoping the guys who are being asked to step up do so and we beat those damn Dawgs.
Taking a step back, we made the freaking CFP:
1) without our #1 WR,
2) with our top 3 rbs either injured or playing through severe injuries, including RB #1 playing on a broken foot,
3) with injuries to our starting RG,
4) with our starting LBer playing with two broken hands
Didn’t Day just say he expects the team to be near 100%??? Come on coach seriously.
We have a guy 5’11” and 230 lbs of down hill running freight train.
And here we had geniuses on this board calling him soft and a pussy while trying to play through this stuff. The dumbassery on this board just never ceases to stop.
I'm not defending people who called him soft but this is on Day. If people knew what he was really going through then we all would have said he was tough as nails for even trying. Day is unwilling to be honest about the reality of the injury and that only puts the player in the crosshairs. Day needs to be real about injuries and not hang his players out to dry.
Correct, "Player X has a foot injury that won't be completely healed until after the season, Doctors don't believe that playing will cause further damage but it's going to decrease his effectiveness" With the other injuries at his position, player X is going to forgo any season ending treatment and attempt to contribute as much as possible"
It’s hard not to be frustrated to hear at the end of the season and into the playoffs that Henderson was this injured. He should have been benched long ago and managed better. This is a failure by our coaches. Had he been treated at the proper time and appropriately, he might be coming back now instead of being OUT. Somebody has to answer for this, and that starts with Day. Playing hurt is one thing, playing injured is different and dumb. Get better soon, young man. Sad that your coaches let you down.
I thought the lightbulb really went on for TreVeyon in last year’s Rose Bowl. He ran tough, didn’t shy away from contact and was getting yards after contact. I distinctly recall Herbie saying he was playing at a next level. This year at Michigan St. he flashed that promise - about 120 yds on 20 carries. All in the first half. And from my vantage point - 45 yd line behind the MSU bench, he took a couple of cheap shots, including a targeting that was ignored. The fact that he did this on a damaged foot tells me if he stays healthy, he’s a potential 2000 yds/season back. Heal up, be an inspiration to your team in the game against UGA, and see you next year.
Yes, and he absolutely made key plays to help win the Penn St game. Without that were probably not in the playoff.
Don't forget Dobbins had a rough Soph yr then came back and ran for over 2000 as a Jr. Trey has all the physical tools to be a great back, props to him for trying to tough it out and hoping he heals up quickly from his surgery.
AKA the Horseshoe, the Shoe, and the House That Harley Built
It's the right move by him and the program. He was not going to help this team being banged up, especially on a bad wheel. Georgia's run defense is elite, so we need healthy guys toting the rock.
We saw it all year TreVeyon - you have not been yourself with the ball in your hands! Get yourself healed and let's try it again next year! Dallon and Miyan will carry the load with the help of Chip and the X Factor!!!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
It’s a shame Henderson is hurt, but he and JSN have been hurt the whole season. I wonder why Day played these guys in meaningless games early this year rather than letting them heal? Major errors made by some combination of Day and our Medical Staff.
Has to fall on the medical staff first and foremost. They're the ones that are going to clear them the play first.
Then it falls on Day. He ultimately has to make the decision whether they play or not.
I agree it is a bad look for the medical staff, and the coaching staff, let two of the starters on the offense this year had season ending injuries and coming back to play in games most likely contributed to the severity of the injuries.
Get better! A lot of this years Team struggles coming to light. Kind of crazy we made the CFP without our best receiver and a one footed RB1. Beat Georgia.
How on Earth does a Young Man with frigging Broken Foot and Torn ligaments make it back onto the field in the 1st place? Who made this decision? ....WOW! So you have to wonder with other injuries. Or maybe it's just me that thinks no way on earth a "different" pair of cleats will help and that sometimes you have to save the players from themselves. With advice like Henderson received no wonder JSN shut it down.
There is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself.” -Miyamoto Musashi
This is very disappointing. I hope his surgery and recovery goes better than expected and he can bounce back fully healthy next year!
Coach Day has really done a disservice to his players with his philosophy of not giving injury updates or when he does, just flat out lying. I don't know if his point is gamesmanship or just reminding everyone that he has authority. But, the reality is that the fans and media really have no idea how injured the player is. If what Treveyon and JSN have revealed is true, then they both were severely injured all year. Tre and JSN took heat and were accused of being soft or just interested in getting to the League. Day needs to change his injury update. I think he either needs to absolutely say nothing or give an honest update. The way they are doing it now is helping no one. Also, he mentioned in his presser today that he really didn't know how healthy Tre was. Really? If that is true then he is completely aloof and disconnected from his players and medical staff or he was lying. I'm assuming he was lying.
Down to RB 4 and a converted linebacker, no JSN, O-line injuries, LBs and DBs with broken hands - the injury bug deprived this team of its full complement of talent for a season, the combination of which could have been incredible. With that said, it is next man up, no excuses, and Go Bucks - beat UGA!!!!
Mr Williams sir. I've been a fan of yours before you ever got to Columbus. You played highschool ball not too far from me. I'm a fan of your violent nature. Your instinct that tells you "if you're going to hit me, I'm going to hit you first". Your desire to be more than what others think of you and your game. It is now your turn sir. To put those cleats and pads on. To drape the colors over your body. To carry a team on your back, to the promise land of sweet and horrible revenge. My Williams take your place as the most violent runner in college football and show them it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.
Absolutely nothing good would come from him playing any more this year. Expecting him to come back with a vengeance next year when he’s fully healthy and ready to kick some ass.
I still feel confident in a three headed monster of Miyan, Hayden and Tranayum. All three deserve play and can keep each other fresh. If one gets hot, lean on him a little more. I think our “pair and a spare” might surprise. We played behind the chains a lot against Northwestern, Maryland and Michigan because of bad penalties, questionable play-calling and poor execution. Cleaning that slop up and coming into the UGA game with a commitment to the run game is what we should happen. We can’t beat them as a one dimensional team. Nor Michigan.
And when we win the game, we'll buy a keg of booze!
And we'll drink to old Ohio 'til we wobble in our shoes!
I'm curious to know what his actual injury is, and how much it evolved with him playing on it. I'll give the medical staff the benefit of the doubt, though with or without saying, it looks bad. I can't imagine they'll say much, as that will open them up to significantly more criticism than staying hush and hoping people forget.
Heal up and come back stronger than ever. We love you and know full well what you can do when you are full strength. Its pretty impressive what he accomplished considering the injuries. You gave it all you had and then some. Looking forward to full beast mode next year.
I appreciate Treveyon Henderson trying to play this year in spite of the physical limitations he was dealing with. That shows toughness and grit. Let's hope the surgery is successful and Treveyon has a clear bill of health going forward. Go Bucks!
Sorry for TH. There's a GAP between his own description of his injuries and his continued attempts to play in the regular season. His description is career threatening, and yet he kept trudging out there week after week ??? hmmmm
Non-disclosure of injuries by the Coach I get...other programs do the same...but asking a guy...or even counting on a guy to play with an injury this severe is bad coaching and the next man up mantra is BS...JMO!!!
Bummer, but as always it's next man up. I like the clarity that comes with some of the decisions by players to move forward on getting healthy vs. the uncertainty of wondering if they are available or not.
He's a special talent, look forward to his 2023 season.
It seems to me that in other leagues, both JSN & Henderson would have been shut down for 3 months to heal their injuries so they could return in the playoffs. Instead, Ohio State kept running them out there hurt and destroyed their ability to contribute in the post-season.
My only question is why not have JSN and Tre keep a bit more quiet before the UGA game? No reason not to wait until January for both these inevitable decisions. Seems even if UGA has to spend a little bit of time thinking one or both may play it is better for OSU
I think we have good players regardless and can win. However, 2 of the best 3 playmakers going into the season are now out for sure
Not really a surprise here. Tre was a warrior this season and tried to go without being 100% healthy on a tough injury. Heal up, man, and come back and kick some ass next year!

Heal up Henderson. Miyan & Dallan, you're up.
Throw Chip in there while you're at it. He played well enough against Michigan that I think he's some carries going forward.
11 Strong.
And Day gave up on Chip in the TTUN game way too early. Has become a negative theme with Day.
Every living OSU fan has a winning record against TTUN.
Big mistake in my very humble opinion. This is how Day let Michigan off the ropes.
Plus the defense played badly.
That was, in my opinion, the biggest reason for the L. Next was the stupid penalties.
No, by missing 4th and 2 to keep the drive alive and make it possibly 17-3 hurt them more.
Go Bucks!
I’m a card carrying pessimist but Chip gives me Sermon vibes. Let that man hit his groove.
Not sure why the heads up for Georgia I would say game time if I would say anything at all.
Denny
Because if he’s out walking on crutches and in a giant boot people will figure it out. Might as well get it out there now straight from the horses mouth
THIS
All season, a veil of secrecy…will Trey play, will JSN play, will Miyan play, etc., etc.
Fast-forward to the playoffs…everything is out there!
Go Bucks!
I like transparency. Thank you TreVeyon. Call me crazy, but I have complete confidence in Dallan Hayden and Miyan Williams.
I hope this take is not controversial: why are amateur athletes playing through injuries? Oh crap that really sucks--was not expecting this much more bad news. Ohio St. and fans can use some good news any time now. Hopefully he fully recovers quickly but this hurts our chances.
A gimpy Henderson playing on a bad foot is not going to help us at all against Georgia. This was the best decision for him and the team.
11 Strong.
Great points BO.
Honestly, not sure why he didn't have surgery a month ago... or at least weeks ago. Big time to get him back & healthy next year!
Agreed, I've stopped taking in what he says about injuries this season. The secrecy is annoying but I have the patience to wait for game day. :-)
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
If he's not 100% he won't do us any good...heal up and come out swinging next year....next man or men up.
Bbc11
Definitely the right decision to make. I'm surprised he waited this long.
"The minute I think I'm getting mellow, I'm retiring. Who ever heard of a mellow winner?" - WWH
Not sure why they kept running TreVeyon out there with a broken foot. Training staff and coaches sure look like fools trying to run a race car with a flat tire.
BobnTX
Well said. This was very poorly handled from where I’m sitting. Cheese and rice.
BuckeyeYankee
You have zero clue about the injury and what was going on behind the scenes
The coaching staff has done a lot of questionable things this season and last.
Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!
This secrecy thing on injuries drives me crazy. Transparency is best...in my humble opinion.
Natural grass in 2006 in the Shoe.
Go Bucks!
Heal up TreVeyon!
"You ever hear of the saying "you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." - Raylan Givens
Running game needs to be a three headed attack vs Georgia. Use all your bullets
Stay gold, Ponyboy.
I hate the wildcat if the guy cannot throw.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Heal up 32.
"Life is not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. THATS HOW WINNING IS DONE!!" - Rocky Ballboa
Well. Probably for the best. To put a player out there less than healthy is never good. Trey got too side to side and 3 19 and 5 are all better at north and south. Heal up 32!
I’m sorry, I can’t hear hippies. - Ron Swanson
Poor guy. He definitely didn't deserve all the vitriol thrown his way about his performance this season considering he was playing on only one functioning leg...
"There is a force that makes us all brothers, no one goes his way alone." --Woody Hayes
He could have easily rested and tried to heal for post season? Evidently the fear of falling on the depth chart was too great.
Why the coaches put him out there is the real damn question.
Send it.
I mean I’ve been in the position of having to stop people due to injury, it’s not easy but that’s why you get paid to do it.
I hope the best for him but damn, it would have been great to have him back for the run in the playoffs.
Send it.
At least we know. Not that it was a surprise. Curious if he returns as a starter.
More Dallan. And more cowbell.
I've got a fever!
Wow. Another gut punch in a season full of them. Hope Trey heals up soon and gets back to 100%.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Pulling for you young man. Hoping surgery goes well and after healing, he will be 100% himself.
It showed. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Tough as nails for trying to play through it. Heal up and get that Heisman 2023.
You think he moves to QB? They’re the only players that win the Hiesman
no surprise , he said he was having surgery weeks ago but yet Day thoufht he was going to play lmao
Ya mean, the guy who didn’t know it was going to be windy in Chicago? Shut the front door.
"Put ya' weight on it"
I had a bad feeling this is what Day was alluding to with Trey in his press conference earlier today.
Love Trey - Total warrior for battling through all of his injuries this year. Need him right for next year.
Time to unleash Miyan, Chip, and Dallan on Georgia!
Ryan Day's coachspeak for "the kid is done for the year."
Heal up and come back better than ever, TreVeyon!!
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. -- Michael Jordan
Also might be his way of saying "I know what they're going to do, but I'm going to let them break their own news."?

or perhaps the University has an uber conservative lawyer who does not want the coach making medical information of the players public.

Get well, Henderson. Hope to see you healthy and ready to go next year.

Get well, Henderson. Hope to see you healthy and ready to go next year.
CBus love
Heal up! Gonna need to lean on him big time next season with a new QB under center. Let’s hope next year is his year!
There’s nothing that cleanses your souls like getting the hell kicked out of you.
Also, so sad when a kid is so hyped up and so talented and gets injured early in his career,.
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game. -- Michael Jordan
Absolutely the right call. Thanks for being a warrior 32!
We still have the horses to get this done. Beat Georgia.
Best possible decision for him. He should be 100% next season then watch out !
The hits just keeping coming for this team. They are injury prone, soft and poorly conditioned. It is going to take an effort never submitted by this team all season to beat Georgia.
Soft? He played all year with torn ligaments in his foot. GTFO
I doubt he'd have "healed properly" without surgery.
Princess Buckeye
And some of us thought Beanie getting injured in a cupcake game the week before playing USC in the Coliseum was boneheaded.
I'd like to see you tell him to his face that he's "soft".
Princess Buckeye
Yeah, soft and poorly conditioned. You’re basing this on what. Nevermind, don’t answer. Just take a lap.
Yeah, they had a chance to coat his bones in adamantium and didn't do it, clearly soft and poorly conditioned.
Sani
Maybe he should have had surgery when he was first injured. Perhaps he could have returned for the end of the season. If not, he would have at least been 100% healthy for Spring ball.
Thank you Dr Arizona
I hope his procedure goes well and he’s back to full strength for us next year.
The past few weeks has been like Chinese water torture.
Frickity-frick. Get better Trey!!
Came into the year as one of top backs in country. Next year he comes back as big ? mark. Hopefully he can get his mojo back.
mtrotb
First, heal up..
11 carries since the PSU game.. ridiculous..
Go Bucks!!!

I remember having no hope when JT went down against Michigan, after Braxton had gone down in the Spring ... who knows who will step up?
Looking for all the whiners complaining that the team is "soft".
I'm inviting ALL OF THEM to tell this young man to his FACE that he's "soft".
Princess Buckeye
He isn’t soft at all. I’m not advocating for that. I have mad respect for him.
Side note, this is the second mention from you of “Say it to his face”. Let’s not pretend he’s an offensive lineman here. No one is pretending to be an internet tough guy here I hope.
Well said..however you are looking at a crud load of whiniers on this site. That is ALL they do from behind their keyboards - big blustery chest bellowing comments. Do better people! Go Bucks!
Go Bucks!
Get yourself right young Buckeye. You have a lot of opportunity in front of you, just waiting for you to gobble up.
Fuck Michigan
Always seems like we go into our playoffs games with our offensive playmaker banged up or not playing at all. Fields and Dobbins in 2019, Fields and Sermon in 2020, and no JSN and Henderson in 2022. And It always seems like the other team has all of their guys completely healthy
I want him to heal up for his benefit. The injury bug this year just blows like I haven’t seen sometime.
#walkaway
Best move for #32!
Next Man Up!!
TM OHIO81
I'm sorry for Henderson. It really is hard when injuries hit, both for the player, and for the team. Hope he comes back strong and fully healed next season. It probably would have been better if he had shut everything down right after Toledo.
I'm curious: is your hatred strong enough that you're happy Coum is hurt, and hope the same thing happens to Edwards?
Don’t think I saw anything but positive vibe posts regarding the Corum injury. People who are happy to see a kid get injured has some serious issues.
Honestly, I don't recall a single post that didn't wish Corum well -- or at the very least, not wanting Michigan to have any excuses for our GAME. Oops. He seems like a great kid - I hope he has a nice NFL career. It's a cold world out there.
Hopefully all the Henderson haters can finally shut up. Dude was hurt all year, yet gave it his beat shot.
I’m glad he’s getting this done. He was clearly playing in significant pain and wasn’t himself. He sure is a tough dude. Hopefully he recovers well and can come back healthy and can play to his potential.
T. Henderson you are are a warrior in my book. True effort displayed to help out your team even though nowhere near 100%. Get yourself healthy for 23!
Urban Cowbuck
Significant loss. May He heal up completely. Team needs to rally together and overcome adversity.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
It was pretty obvious when Day said he'd have info in a couple days same as he said re JSN.
I give him credit for trying to play through it all season. Hope the surgery fixes the issue and allows him to get back to full speed.
JWilly3
This is great news….. said no one ever. Maybe our 3rd string rb is like our 3rd string qb in 14. Let’s roll.
Fire Kevin Warren
Trey, you've done almighty work, as banged up as you are. You owe no one any explanation, as we mere mortal men would wince at just a hairline fracture.
The surgery option is a smart choice, given time and healing. We all pray for a speedy recovery, great rest and PT/OT.
About the only other thing to say, is that I hope you still travel with the team, and enjoy the Peach Bowl (and hopefully The CFP Championship after).
Thanks again for Soldiering on, Trey!
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
What an amazing team!
This is a message board, sir. Keep your rational takes to yourself, please and thank you.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Glass half full I see.
Conversely they failed to beat Michigan and they failed to win the Big Ten.
That's the glass half empty version.
You sound like ESPN talking about Alabama. Don’t you know we BACKED into the playoffs!? Cmon man!! /s
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Heal up and come back to win the Heisman in 2023!!
Crazy people were bashing him and he was fighting all season long. Hope he heals up and has a Dobbins like season 3.
Didn’t Day just say he expects the team to be near 100%??? Come on coach seriously.
We have a guy 5’11” and 230 lbs of down hill running freight train.
osuflash
Foot injuries suck and are hard to heal. Hoping for a good outcome for a loyal Buckeye!
Mountains
Correct, "Player X has a foot injury that won't be completely healed until after the season, Doctors don't believe that playing will cause further damage but it's going to decrease his effectiveness" With the other injuries at his position, player X is going to forgo any season ending treatment and attempt to contribute as much as possible"
Not, "It's a bitty boo-boo and he's day to day"
Sani
I'm only seen one person call him soft in this thread, and that guy is an idiot.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
“Holy Buckeye!”
Tough luck for him and for the team.
klusewski
Impressive grit but Day should’ve sat him down and did what was best for him.
It's the right move by him and the program. He was not going to help this team being banged up, especially on a bad wheel. Georgia's run defense is elite, so we need healthy guys toting the rock.
BOATS and HOES.
Good choice should probably have been done much earlier.
Class of ‘71
I would upvote this 100 times if I could.
If downvotes on this site are not for when one merely disagrees with a post, what are upvotes for?
Has to fall on the medical staff first and foremost. They're the ones that are going to clear them the play first.
Then it falls on Day. He ultimately has to make the decision whether they play or not.
I agree it is a bad look for the medical staff, and the coaching staff, let two of the starters on the offense this year had season ending injuries and coming back to play in games most likely contributed to the severity of the injuries.
I guess we’re not going to be completely healthy?
Spare a buck?
Shockingly predictable! His injury will allow him to play again. JSN not likely.
Try not to suck
Get better! A lot of this years Team struggles coming to light. Kind of crazy we made the CFP without our best receiver and a one footed RB1. Beat Georgia.
Fortune favors the bold.

Does the surgery include a “north/south” procedure that corrects his “east/west” style of running?
Ah dude. That's wrong but so funny!

I hope Miyan is fully healthy. It's hard enough to run the ball on Georgia as it is.

Give violence a chance
Absolutely nothing good would come from him playing any more this year. Expecting him to come back with a vengeance next year when he’s fully healthy and ready to kick some ass.
Get well brother! Appreciate your physical sacrifices for this team!!
Ohio, Ohio!
We'll win the game or know the reason why!
Get well soon, young man. Then give ‘em hell!
Heal up and come back stronger than ever. We love you and know full well what you can do when you are full strength. Its pretty impressive what he accomplished considering the injuries. You gave it all you had and then some. Looking forward to full beast mode next year.
How firm thy friendship
I appreciate Treveyon Henderson trying to play this year in spite of the physical limitations he was dealing with. That shows toughness and grit. Let's hope the surgery is successful and Treveyon has a clear bill of health going forward. Go Bucks!
Bad bad mojo for our Bucks. Recruiting and the Georgia game.
Sorry for TH. There's a GAP between his own description of his injuries and his continued attempts to play in the regular season. His description is career threatening, and yet he kept trudging out there week after week ??? hmmmm
O-H
Best of luck TH, looking forward to your 1500 yard season next year.
26 bones in the foot, some minor, some major. Ligament tear probably just as bad. Get well #32!
Non-disclosure of injuries by the Coach I get...other programs do the same...but asking a guy...or even counting on a guy to play with an injury this severe is bad coaching and the next man up mantra is BS...JMO!!!
I'm kind of tracking with you on this. It kind of feels like some part of the story is MISSING, given what is being implied.
O-H
This reality regarding TH makes his breakaway runs against Penn State all the more remarkable.
Bummer, but as always it's next man up. I like the clarity that comes with some of the decisions by players to move forward on getting healthy vs. the uncertainty of wondering if they are available or not.
He's a special talent, look forward to his 2023 season.
vacuuming sucks
It's time to question Day's handling of injuries.
It seems to me that in other leagues, both JSN & Henderson would have been shut down for 3 months to heal their injuries so they could return in the playoffs. Instead, Ohio State kept running them out there hurt and destroyed their ability to contribute in the post-season.
Cue the speculation and finger pointing when nobody here knows the details of the injury nor has a clue what goes on behind the scenes.
Rest up and come back strong next year young man.
Similar to JK Dobbins lackluster Sophomore year. We know what he did his Junior year. A healthy Henderson will ball out next year!
