He ain't SWAC for sure now.

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

I Believe In Ohio State.

Didn't he have a 5* on his roster? Where's that talented kid going and can it please be here? Our secondary has been terrible for 3 years in a row and we could use the help.

I think he battled injuries this year but he did have two picks.

Ha. I think this is part of "Coach Prime's Luggage" Otherwise known as "Louis". Dude is going to make an impact. Boulder is excited for some Coach Prime!

Love it tbh. It’s either going to be a home run or a disaster. But they’re already horrible, so the only way to go is up.

I'm not so sure. It could turn out to be both; horrible and a disaster. But, however it turns out, it's going to be interesting as heck to watch from a distance.

My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.   - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)

So say he is successful at CO.  Is the next stop FSU?

I could even imagine a crazy scenario where Saban hangs on another couple years and Prime replaces him at 'Bama.  Seems just as likely he flops as an FCS coach, but could be fun to watch either way.

I always thought that if he was going to take on a reclamation project, he'd take on GaTech.

As I think about it, that is a good reason to go to CU and not Nebraska. I lived in Colorado for 9 years, and the fandom is actually weak. This was the Neuheisel/Barnett time frame. Kids from Denver left to go to Lincoln, if they were good enough. Not the other way around. They were winning from McCartney on for a while, but the fans just didn't really tune in unless it was something big.

And a stepping stone is a great reason to go to CU, than risk getting Nebraska on track again.

Brilliant hire, and good move for him. Colorado has nothing but upside, no way to be worse. Deion gets a power 5 job where if he gets bowl eligible, he's only moving up.

Question for Deion over time will be whether he can hire good assistants and develop players into NFL talent. He can definitely recruit. Power 5 is largely about hiring and managing a staff, though - that's a different skill.

Personally, I think the USF job would have been a better opportunity for success, though it might seem like a lateral move for Sanders.

Colorado, and Prime Time, will have to be patient. You're not going to win overnight in Boulder. I'm interested to see the staff he puts together.

Wonder if he will get Inniss to flip to Colorado.

He may find that recruiting to Colorado is going to be harder than recruiting to Florida. Just the way it is with kids and weather these days.

Does Colorado really have the NILs backing that he will need to get recruits in?

He is a recruiter for sure but NILs will out recruit him.

Coors family will ensure that if they like him.

I thought for sure he'd stay in the South but Colorado could be a good opportunity to revive a program that thrived in the 90s.

Get dumped then

I think this was a good move for the Buffs but also do wonder as others above have... his sales pitch needs adjusted for the new environment. Football players tend to not be also skiers or rock climbers or triathletes. Boulder is a triathlete (world class trail running and road cycling), climbing (also world class), and ski (within a few hours...) town. Denver is fun for me but not necessarily for a college kid; it's no Miami, that's for sure. He'll need to figure out how to keep all the CO kids and then also figure out how to bring more from Florida, Texas, California, etc. than the program has been able to for the last decade. I would love to see him do that and then be able to steal a win or two from the Oregon States and Washingtons and maybe Utah or Oregons of the Pac, in the next year or two. The only way to go is up.

Update here after the local news reported on his first day tonight... Deion is very confident that he is going to change the program and will not be apologizing about his efforts. He basically told the team today that he's going to push them to either get better to the point where they're unrecognizably different than today - or to transfer.

Another talking point that has always been a bit of an elephant in the room for Boulder was that of race and affluence. [The following is the 9News' words, not mine, but in general, I don't disagree.] Not that Boulder is racist, but that it is not black. Potential black athletes simply don't see many people like them and have a hard time identifying with the socioeconomic and demographic makeup of Boulder. [Boulder is 99% white, hispanic, and asian, per wikipedia. It is also affluent and a bubble in that most people there are there intentionally and love it for what it is. People joke that it isn't actually real and I can't disagree. People outside of Boulder "love to hate" it, for context. Boulderites get eye-rolls from non-Boulderites.] He stated that while the socio/demo makeup may not change, he will do all he can to create a community for prospective athletes and make a home for them, since he intends to recruit from places he has in the past and wherever he can draw talent from.

My initial impression is that he is going to be very good for the program and I am excited to see where he takes it.

I liked his speech until he brushed off the injured players. Not a good look imo. He should have said "all players that put themselves out there for the team and were injured are going to be kept on scholarship until they can get healthy enough to be evaluated for the roster fairly". We kept on Babb despite injuries, it's the classy thing to do.

Maybe he just got caught up in the moment but he needs to do better imo.

Ya, I'm guessing you don't know much about Deion then.

For better or worse, the guy who nicknamed himself Prime Time is going to ruffle a whole lotta feathers. This has to be one of the biggest reclamation jobs in the nation, and if he turns it around he'll be on top of every list everywhere. He's going to unapologetically recruit, he's going to make things about him, he's going to steal the spot light, and honestly after a year or two, he's probably going to beat the shit out of a lot of teams.

Lotta people in college football don't like people like Deion and I am REALLY waiting to see all the dander he raises. They're going to want to see him fail and its going to be delicious when he doesn't.

Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.

Exactly.  Boulder is a rich white (or non-black) insestual cess-pool of self-love.  A strange move to go from a HBCU to a place that ex CU football players refer to as "the plantation."

That's one hot take description I guess
