I know this guy got Illinois turned around defensively but his MIzzou Defense were for the most part mediocre to bad with only 1 ranking in the top 50.
But part of his success this year was due to Illinois playing a ton of terrible offenses, so exactly how good is this guy?
I for one would like to play Purdue and Illinois every year. Personally I don’t give a shit about Rutgers or Maryland. I went over to Purdue in 1984 for a game and then to Illinois in 1985 and I have gone there many times since. They are BT schools. I get it and I don’t want to sound like an old fart yelling “ get off my lawn “ but fudge playing those two division opponents EVERY year while it took five years to get Iowa “across the field “ is frustrating to me. When we go to 16 teams (or beyond) I will forget their colors and fight song. Boiler Up! Means something. “ fear the turtle “ is bullshit. Thanks. Sincerely, an old fart.
Oh, and I like that big drum and the gold dusters and the twirling corps and the silver twins and the girl in black and that mascot is a hoot. Okay enough of the nostalgia for Purdue but they do add some color and pageantry in the BT and Len Dawson and Bob Griese and Drew Brees are HOF quarterbacks. More of my above comment- I wish we could play more games against real BT teams and less against non-entities like Nebraska and Maryland and Rutgers. Call me a traditionalist. Go Buckeyes.

Glad Brohm has moved on to Louisville. His teams were, sometimes, dangerous.
