I honestly don't understand why when Day says "we gotta come out fast and strike fast" and we come out just the opposite...how many times did we come close to, and even let the time clock run out and get penalized for delay of game?!? IMO, you should play fast like you do in the 2 minute drill and then back off once the game is out of hand, just to manage the time clock..for me it's really frustrating, but I'm not the coach lol
Well, Gus and Joe commented on the crowd noise disrupting OSU's play calling. Yet you are correct that the Bucks are more effective offensively when playing with tempo.

Someone said yesterday, and I can’t help but nod my head, that they think it’s because tempo removes a lot of the “check with me” second and third guessing from the equation.
I think there is some issue they’re having with relaying plays to CJ. A few uncharacteristic screw-ups with that against Iowa, and then yesterday. That’s inexcusable and should’ve been worked out 5 minutes ago.
As for the low first half scoring, Day needs to be more aggressive with the passing. Marvin and Egbuka are great WRs, so give them passes where they make the catch on the defender. I know he’s trying to stay faithful to the ground game, but it clearly needs to be used as more change-of-pace against good defenses. I’m starting to wonder if Day is turning into Urban and playing it way more conservatively than we expected from them.
There is no greater moment in The Game’s history than giving the full one-finger salute to 107,601 Michigan fans at the same time.
I can see where this is headed. TTUN success is predictable. First down is the key to their offensive success. Doesn’t matter if it’s a run or a pass they always get yardage on first down. On defense it’s tackling and getting to the ball fast. One of the best tackling teams in college football. I watch the Buckeyes and never know what to expect on either side of the ball which leads me to believe that this team is still finding its way and has yet to play great on both sides of the ball. This Buckeye team is definitely difficult to figure out.
The only concern i have is that it took us an awful long time to get the run game going. With the talent we have this cant happen again. GO BUCKEYES !!!

Seems that early in the game people try and stuff our run game…i believe its just a numbers game…seven in the box run eight pass…with our team we need to pass to back up the linebackers and safety's….been the case early on last two games….

Yeah the crowd noise is tough, but still it shouldn't take the whole 40 seconds to snap the ball..

Try not to suck
The entire college football season rests on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as nature intended.

If Iowa puts up 33 against NorthWestern that means the Buckeyes should have... 141?
The Excellence of Execution, the Best there is, the Best there was, the Best there ever will be!
The run game could benefit by WRs in jet sweeps - this will make LBs sensitive to the edge. Less likely to pressure or stuff the box.
Urban did this with Parris Campbell or Michael Thomas. Not a lot - but SOME.
If CJ can't run, FFS someone in the backfield besides Treveyon or Miyan MUST occasionally gain the attention of the LBs.
You can also use this precedent to play action a jet sweep and hit the opposite receiver with a slant or post.
I yell this at my TV, but never see it on the field.
