Do we care if the backup punter enters the portal? Reminds me of the Dr. Pepper commercial where Fansville got a punter in the portal. They didn't want a punter, lol.
The punt the most important play in football once said by Tress but so untrue. Like any other play as a field goal would have been very important interception blocked punt the list is endless. Sorry I know the guy and not a fan.
Ohio State ran something like 6 plays outside of their own 20 yardline in the 4th quarter of the 2015 Sugar Bowl vs. Alabama courtesy of the Tide's punter. 4 of them came after recovering an onside kick. Thank God for Evan Spencer's block or Ohio State likely loses that game.
Your average offense is the first issue and your coverage is another no matter how great or bad your punter is. Every part of the game is important to say the punt is most important is not so. How important is the punt when you don't in a game or getting beat by 40.
Don't waste your breath. He is back on an anti-Tressel tirade for no reason right now because he has a personal axe that he has been griding for years, which has nothing to do with a walk on punter leaving.

More like O’GONEssy, amirite?
I believe it’s pronounced “O-Shaq-Hennessy” but I’ve been wrong most of my life. Clearly it’s Polish.
O’Well… What current OSU player am I supposed to celebrate now on St. Patrick’s Day?
Maybe O'Shaughneseeya

We could celebrate 614 waterworks!
We’ll always have O'Shaughnessy Dam.
Damn, O'Shaughnessy, but good luck to you Michael! Dam, we love ya still even though you’re gone as I see, O’Shaughnessy.
I wish him, and all the other players that I've never heard of, the very best.
Nothing is too difficult for the person that doesn't have to do it.
Is he related to the OSU donors with the same last name? I think their names are displayed on the Southside of the Shoe.
Package deal with Arnold.
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever.
Was he on scholarship?

Complete chaos in the punting room.

This will never get the appreciation it deserves.

Try having an average offense with a bad punter or a bad punt coverage unit. A great punter & coverage team can cover a lot of offensive ineptitude.
Hmm
Just ask the Music City Bowl Champions: Iowa Hawkeyes!
I think Coach Tressel was speaking broadly about a play when the play goes as planned.

If you are not on a scholly, do you need the portal, shouldn't you be able to contact other teams anytime you want?

A well executed punt (kick & coverage) forces the offense to drive the entire length of the field no matter how good/bad your offense might be.
A poorly executed punt (kick & coverage) will cost you points every time you punt.
It’s the single most important play because you only get one chance.

Every play unless a penalty there is no do overs. Lets agree to disagree.
Denny
This is great! People disagreed and no one is calling another Buckeye fan a pejorative! We have turned a page. There is hope for 2023.
Pejorative?! I represent that remark.
Hmm
Turn a page? Not yet douche ... FIFY
Jefferson is dead wrong lmao
Denny
Is that you, honey?
Hmm
Indeed it is chicken wing!
And, it turns out, Marcie was more into Peg than Jefferson.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!

Jim Tressel is now sad after hearing this news.
Trust me! I'm an Engineer.
