Can't argue with Bama being number one at this point. Recency bias or not, their run of dominance is unprecedented.

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.

Not even recency bias.  Alabama was historically great prior to Saban, and even then they certainly had argument for the top spot even then.  They have the two greatest coaches in the history of the sport now.  They’re Everest and the rest are The Rockies.

Georgia below Penn State and Tennessee.  Sounds about right,

Historically, yeah.

The poll is just point system of final AP polls since 1936.  Bama and OSU overtook Oklahoma because OK sucked this year. "Take all the AP final rankings and use our simple scoring system – the AP national champion in each season gets 25 points, the No. 2 team 24, No. 3 23, and so on down to the bottom."  So if OSU finished 1 next year and Bama finished 12, OSU would move to number 1 all time. https://collegefootballnews.com/2023/01/ap-college-football-poll-ranking...

What is more likely: OSU finishes number 1 next year or Bama finishing 12th? I’d say the Bucks winning the Natty and ending numero uno is much more likely.

That's a huge dropoff from Notre Dame at #5 (1036 points) to USC at #6 (851 points). That's basically the equivalent of ND being #1 for seven seasons that USC is unranked.

TTUN at #4 and ND switched spots from last season.

LOL at A&M. Look at Iowa showing up in there. Credit to the Hawkeyes. Auburn too high. Arkansas too high, Minnesota (on page two) is too low,, as technically they should be ahead of Wisconsin.

This is not someone’s subjective rankings; cannot say “too high.”  Its just how the teams have been ranked by all final AP polls ever.  No one “should” be ahead of anyone else.

Haha true but in essence these rankings as voted on by human beings are all subjective.

All hail the Blue Blood Chart:

You could add: No. of Heisman trophies per school, no. of All Americans, no. of 1st round NFL draft choices, no. of players ever in the NFL and you would still get the same schools on this list, perhaps not in the same order though. OSU may be no. 1 if we added all these factors. But this is the definition of blue blood.
