2023 will be a pivotal year, in Buckeye football history.
April 15 and May 15 (The secondary transfer portal window deadline) are de facto pre-season votes of confidence for Ryan Day, who will be in his 5th season as head coach (though, first season as such, in his mind).
To be fair, I think the weight of the Spring Game in terms of QB battles is way overblown. Sure it's a great way to get the fanbase behind one of the two, but other than that, I think the day-to-day practices are more important. I would be shocked if this battle ends in the Spring, odds are that this thing rolls into the fall. McCord is the odds on favorite to win the job, but we'll see.
All of the defensive breakdowns happened because our secondary lacked fundamentals on key plays. Why are you not mentioning our secondary coaches? Why does no one mention them? Why does Knowles get the blame when it's fairly universally accepted that he made the correct call by basically everyone who knows what they're talking about?
Nobody is questioning your fandom or right to express it. Many are just tired of you bringing up the same point and graphic repeatedly. We get it, you don’t think Knowles has lived up to expectations. That’s fair. We get it.
And none of that was on Knowles. He didn't take the bad angles. He didn't slip in coverage. He didn't miss any tackles at safety. He also didn't coach those units.
This had to be Gene reading the fan base and saying we need something to distract them from the misery that's being inflicted upon us with the men's team tailspin. But glad to see it is the 15th! Has fell on Easter weekend a few times. Should be able to make this one with no issue. Go Bucks!
Great stuff! You can only read so much into the spring game but there are many interesting things to watch for-QB battle, O-line competition, new look secondary etc… Looking forward to it!

Very eager to see these new QBs. IMO MHJr shouldn't even play in the spring game. A. he doesn't need too and B. whichever QB has MHJr is at a MAAAAASSSSSSSSIVE advantage, dude would catch any ball thrown anywhere on the field. Take him out so one QB isn't handicapped over the other and let's have a good ole fashioned QB battle.

I am just glad that OSU was smart enough this time NOT to schedule the spring game the same damn weekend as Easter. Much easier to get fans and recruits on campus for the whole weekend when it is not Easter weekend. About time they scheduled it correctly.
Lol.. It’s been on the same Saturday in April since Day took over as head coach. He changed it from the Saturday of the NFL draft. It’s Easter Sunday that has rotated every year..
No matter what the defensive stats were from 2021 to 2022 the defense was still terrible.
They played 4 good offenses- PSU, Maryland, Michigan and Georgia and gave up over 30 points every game. The defense was awful when it counted. If your defense lets Clifford throw for 370 yards you know you suck.
2 most important games of the year the defense folds and gives 28 2nd half points to Michigan then loses the Georgia game by giving up 18 in the 4th quarter and pissing away the NC.
No one ever should be saying Knowles is any good. He hasnt accomplished anything.
I felt things were better and looking for more improvement going forward but Isee your point that giving up 87 points and 1063 total yards the last two games is unacceptable.

My expectations for 2023 is the lowest in 20 seasons. Too many questions to be answered and too many holes to fill.
