I think we are finally at a place where people have to stop defending him. What has he done to earn your loyalty, above just being your favorite school's B ball coach?
And if the 2020 tournament was actually played, they would have lost before the sweet 16, just like always.
If I was Gene Smith, I would have a shadow operation looking at a replacement, to be announced by season's end.
Is Bama elite? How many loses and titles do they have in the past 2 years? Four loses, zero national titles.
Yes they have multiple titles in the past, but you used the lens of the last two years in your Georgia comparison.
Roah Ruggles missed a 50 yard field goal attempt, in a game where he made a 48 yard attempt, in the fourth quarter. That's how close OSU is to Georgia. And on that topic, is there any doubt OSU could have beaten TCU by a bunch? Maybe our defense gives up more points, but our offense definitely puts up 50 on them.
Some of us never turned it on. For some reason, fellow Buckeyes kept texting me the scores. Then halftime happened, and even they stopped sending updates.
If your offense scores 41 points with no turnovers, there is no need to "what if," even if points were left on the field. Even in 2023.
Gotta develop your player, no matter their recruiting stars. Chris Olave was a 3 star. K'Von Pope was a 5 star. Zach Harrison was a 5 star.
Michigan State??? That is more puzzling than Miami twice. LOL
To add to the "not ready for a raise" discussion. Look at Toledo scoring 21 points. Then go look at their scores against the likes of SDSU and other MAC teams where Toledo scored 24 or less points.
30 to Maryland? I expect better. Watching that TTUN game wasn't much different than watching the 2021 version. Sure the first half looked good from a running game standpoint, but their 21 points through wide open receivers in 1-on-1 matchups was not a good look.
One more from the peanut gallery: Tight End play has stunk since the bye week, yes that included Farmer Gronk. In most of the post-bye week games we have had trouble running the ball in short yardage. It seems like whenever the TEs come down the line to block on the edge, one of them misses. Gee Scott, Mitch Rossi, Cade Stover all have been whipped on the edges. Every time the RBs run wide and get tackled, look for that one missing block. Similar with the Bubble screens on the edge.
Funny that Brohm didn't know about the position being open until he was given an interview about Purdue's bowl preparations!
Garret Wilson could easily have been selected as the Pro Buck of The Week, but it's cool to show some love to the defensive guys every now and then!
The second overall pick, folks. I have no idea how someone would pick him of Justin Fields, on potential alone. Not to mention the stuff in the pre-draft scouting report.
Normally I would agree, but a year ago they said it would be ready next year, and implied they were already working on for bit. So basically 2 years from that announcement with a head start. Now they need an additional year? Disappointed. You know it's based on the Madden engine, anyway.
How many times have we heard that PSU's Sean Clifford was too hurt to play, only to have him play?
The answer is 2 for 2.
Assume Corum will play.
but if there were literally any other good games across the country on Saturday, GameDay would be somewhere else.
USC v UCLA ?
Utah v Oregon ?
So these two games are worse than Montana on Montana action?
This past Saturday in Ohio Stadium, one team had LEO printed on its helmets and lost by 42 points. The other got a delay of game penalty for too much LEO.
Pure gold, Ramzy!
0-4 Mike Hart disagrees with you.
Probably a good translation, but you gotta be able to play in the cold if you want to play in the NFL!
Right? Who doesn't expect near-freezing weather in any of the northern states, in mid-November? Sure there might be the occasional 60 degree Xmas every few years, but otherwise expect cold November through late March!
I remember Jamaal fondly, as a student and fan at tOSU, at the time. Man, when they got that #1 seed, I thought they were going to win it all.
I also remembering the only game he did not start, as it was viewed as "strong discipline" for Randy Ayers, at the time. I think JB was up studying for a test, then skipped a class because he overslept. Or at least that was his story back then.
Can’t run with DEs crashing down all the time.
Fair points all around, but we should be able to get whatever yards we want against Northwestern's crappy run defense. Like line up in the Wildcat and get 3rd and 2 or 4th and 1. And if we cannot, do not practice anything else besides this. Put the wide receivers on the practice field with the backup QBs, and just practice running. Sub out the entire O-line for the second line and wear them out. Then sub in the third stringers.
That guy is not reliable, I'm surprised he hasn't been traded away.
It really isn't hyperbole to say that Fields had better receivers in college. Which shouldn't really be possible. In theory, poor receivers should be pushed out of the league by attrition.
That PSU/NW game was in a hurricane. PSU had 7 turnovers and won by 10.
In 2017 James Franklin was quoted as saying, "J.T. Barrett has been at Ohio State for over 15 years." I guess then Sean Clifford has been at Penn State for over 20 years?
What is his buyout? Maybe ND can pick up one of the half dozen of fired coaches before everyone else does?
