Matti, you make some good points, but some of us are loyal to a fault.

As much as this was a throw away season it really sucks to finish last in the division.

Hope is limited

I dunno about that. Roddick was super fun to watch and could dominate with his amazing serve, but I don't think he was quite at the level of Pete or Andre.  Just my subjective opinion.  Sure miss the days of having an American male at the top of the game though.

3 Sweet Sixteens in the past decade, the worst decade in a long time for the program.  They are still a national brand in basketball even if they aren't at the very top currently.

Anyhow, the entire athletic dept isn't garbage.  More my point.

There will be no decrease in my passion for the Buckeyes.  I just will have a warm spot for Indiana once/if my daughter attends school there.

Maybe it's age and what comes with that, but I can even find myself feeling happy for family/friends when their favorite team does well even if I have no other reason to care about the outcome of a game.  At least it made someone I like/love happy. I mean even with teams I have historically disliked like the Steelers (cousin and Aunt are season ticket holders)...........ugghh these sensitive feelings of middle age.

Although certainly true for football, there are some legit national powers on campus (ie. men's soccer and basketball) and women's hoops are in the top 10 right now.

She considered smaller schools, but "big time" sports are something she would have missed too much.

I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was at Texas Tech.  He sure knew how to work a room of donors and turned the MBB program around in Lubbock immediately.  Certainly an enigmatic man, but it's hard to not have a soft spot for such a successful Buckeye despite his flaws.
