At the end of the day, everyone wants an ROI (return on investment) and the risk is VERY HIGH that there is absolutely NO "ROI" on these NIL deals. None.

This x100. for most companies/businesses, NIL makes no sense (except on the small scale, like a couple $1000's to show up at an event, an opening, or doing a commercial). For rich people that can throw money around, its a matter of time before they are unwilling to do that any more. What doesnt help the case is the disaster at TAMU -- a huge negative ROI is not going to leave a good taste in most peoples mouths.

Maine, my best guess (based on half a career working at a University and have seen 'computer access crimes' come up a total of two times during that span) is that its related to unauthorized access to one of UoM's student data bases -- could be registrar information, or it could be grades, or something along those lines. Emphasis on 'could be'.

It hasnt been mentioned here (yet), but before it does -- very highly unlikely its the worse kind of internet crimes that some could imagine, because campus police were investigating (rather than state police or FBI if it were CP or something gross like that).

I give it a couple more years, I think once boosters see that they are just throwing money away without getting the results they want they will stop

I have the same question about this, and just cant wrap my head around it. The money stream can not be endless, unless there is significant return on investment. And that's the question -- how and how-much are the boosters making money on these 'investments'? And, how long are they willing to throw money out there if there is little-to-no return?

Last night was a damn rollercoaster of emotions for sports. I knew NOTHING about rally until late 2000's --  Ken Block introduced me.

Shockingly, I didnt know he was a cofounder of DC until last night too.

RIP Ken, the Gymkhana vidoes and your impression on 'alternative sports' will live on forever.

Mr. Dill, you are saying this as if Ron's friends have some reasonable and possible way to stop UGA and Bama from cheating -- I going to go out on a limb and assume they do not have that power.

Would love to see how much NIL $$$ was paid out just for the one year those guys stayed at A&M, et al. I literally know nothing about the contracts these guys are signing, but it would be amazing to me if they basically just looted A&M and ran.

This is so comical to me -- who didnt see this coming?

Seeing a few familiar names in there (Tunmise Adeleye) and it could be a good time for Day to go shopping if he so chooses (not sure these are the characters we want on our team though, regardless of talent).

If you and your kid want to really excel, you need more exposure than that, even at a young age.

Again, abbreviated observation (I'm new here) -- but this is true. The talent and competition level even at U8/9/10 between club and rec is astounding.

FWIW, many of the club teams in Cincy have an assistant coach whom is a parent volunteer -- possibly one of the Dublin/Cbus clubs offers the same. That way, two birds + one stone -- you get to coach and spend time with her, and she gets exposure and experience with better competition/training/etc. Lol, I'm sure you know -- but also make sure your wallet is fully prepared too.

Club Ohio (very limited observation, but this was the more talented and better coached of the two, at least for this team/U9 age group) and Ohio premier.

I'm toying with the idea of taking my daughter out of rec in the next year or so and moving to a club team in the area.

If you are in Dublin, you have a lot of good choices for clubs though! (we're from Cincy, and my 8 year old girl just played two Cbus/Dublin clubs over Halloween, and both were very impressively coached)

Thanks for making this thread. This is my first year with any level of interest in the world cup (kids just got involved in club soccer-- age 6 and 8, holy cow had no idea how involved soccer is at a young age), so I will be using this as a learning opportunity.

O.K.I. and MGP pulled a fiver here and I was an easy mark.

Ironically I have a new MGP (non-OKI) bottle that I was planning on enjoying this Saturday for this game, good choice!

Wins over Bama and UGA -- I'll admit, will be impressive if Hooker and UT are still undefeated.

If I was an NFL GM, I'd still 100% want Stroud -- but for the body of work this year (only because of the schedule), I think Hooker has a real shot here for the Heisman.

He was a bit high and wide with some throws that got tight end Cade Stover whacked a few times

I was really starting to wonder if CJ was upset with Cade, and was punishing him.

But wow -- you guys, we have a TE and we are using him. Its really spectacular to see (especially when you have another option on top of EE/Marv/JSN/etc)

Have to give a shout out to Caffey for his long run

Yep, I'll double that. Dude ran hard. Still a little shocked he didn't have more offers (even from MAC schools) coming out of high school, but happy he landed where he did. .

College football is a semi-pro league.

Dude literally made a nonsensical comment in a thread about a college basketball recruit, making his comment a double nonsensical.
