Sixteen Buckeyes won't suit up for Ohio State's spring game Saturday.

Neither veteran wide receiver Kamryn Babb, who suffered a short-term injury during camp, nor USC transfer linebacker Palaie Gaoteote will play in the intrasquad scrimmage at Ohio Stadium.

However, Buckeye safeties Josh Proctor and Kourt Williams both appear to be active after dealing with injury issues this spring. Proctor continues to work his way back from the season-ending leg fracture that cut his 2021 season short, and is expected to play during the thud tackling portion of Saturday's scrimmage. Williams has dealt with a hamstring issue over the past few weeks, but will be available to play in the spring game.

Joining Babb and Gaoteote are on the unavailable list are a number of players that the program ruled out for the spring back in early March, with Marcus Crowley, Tyler Friday, Jantzen Dunn, Josh Fryar Lathan Ransom, Cade Kacherski, Ryan Batsch and Mitch Rossi all being unavailable Saturday.

The other six Buckeyes listed on Ohio State's status report are Ben Christman, Zen Michalski, Corban Cleveland, Elias Myers, Zak Herbstreit and Trey Leroux.

Ohio State also announced its scoring format for the exhibition, which will see the Buckeye offense go head-to-head with the defense this year. The offense will be able to score via touchdowns, field goals and extra points, but the defense can earn points with takeaways (three), three-and-outs (three), sacks (two) and forced punts (one), along with six possible points for defensive touchdowns with the extra point also going to the defense.

The contest is scheduled for a noon start at Ohio Stadium, and you can check out our full preview of the spring game right here.
