Until he gives up a sack. Then half of the fanbase will demand that his scholarship gets revoked.
For years, any criticism of Holtmann was met with downvotes and insults. It didn’t even have to be mean..you could simply point out that the man had underperformed with the talent on the roster and you’d be public enemy #1 and told you didn’t understand basketball or weren’t a real fan.
This is the result of having such a mixture of expectations for the program. Some people are happy to finish 7th in the Big 10, while others expect a championship every year. No one could define how successful he was until now when it’s blatant the man is failing.
I like Holtmann as a person. Got to meet him and he was really nice. But his performance is not what OSU should be expecting from its basketball program.
If only we had all given Brian Schottenstein $25 per month, Chris Holtmann could win a few January games.
In past years, this was a gimme game. Now we’re on par with Nebraska. Thanks Chris.
Its been a long time since the Holtmann defenders came out to tell us all how uneducated we are in basketball.
I remember someone on here saying we were a final four team last year if Sueing was healthy lol
They’ve played so bad and they’re still winning. If the shooting can revert to averages, they should have a chance to walk out with a win.
don’t worry guys..just one more year and Holtmann will have it
Hopefully that means we can be done with having to hear from Brian Schottenstein
This guy is doing it right..get a free graduate degree and gets to play for THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Welcome aboard sir!
Would be an ideal coach. He has the tenacity needed and provides an example of resiliency under extreme frustration that all young men could learn from. Best of luck.
The issue with crowd funding is that it’s not sustainable. The year after osu won the national title, donations would have flown in like crazy. Would you donate today? Most wouldn’t..and it’s because expectations aren’t being met. If the best they can do is $100k after back to back Big 10 titles following a 17 year drought, there’s nowhere to go but down for that fund unless they can somehow win a national title. Expectations in AA are rising and soon they won’t be met.
I’d place Haskins above Stroud because both dealt with horrendous defenses and Haskins had a bit more success overcoming defensive shortcomings. With that said, Stroud was a great talent and will go down in the history books as one of the best. Wish he could have walked out with some hardware, but now it’s time to go to work with an NFL team. Hoping he isn’t thrust into a savior role immediately so he can adjust to the NFL.
At this point, OSU is just burning cash keeping Holtmann. It’s sad and pathetic. 4 straight losses!
Losing McNeil hurts..his 3 ball is going to be needed. Can’t lose Zed here.
It’s amazing to me how Big 10 officials go from “hey, let’s have everyone play and call nothing” to “ok, don’t you dare even look at your opponent”
Sueing is so careless with the ball
That ball ABSOLUTELY hit the rim. Not once, but twice.
I don’t even know what a foul is anymore
Sometimes, it’s best to keep certain thoughts in your head.
That was an ugly first half for both teams.
Rutgers shooting 15%..need to keep piling on points before that reverts
With all the bad calls we’ve seen and the Big 10 has admitted to, what is the corrective action?
Calling out parts of the fan base for being pro Holtmann or anti Holtmann seems like a bunch of toxic bull shit to me.
You’re spot on with this comment. Appreciate your thoughts.
