The ONLY thing to stop this team is overcomplicating scheme, personnele, gmae sitautions...etc. Ryan Day has been an amazing coach for us...however he has struggled w/ his stubbornness and game management.
-11 Delay of Game Penalties in the last 4 weeks. That is CLEARLY on Day getting the play in too late to stroud.
-It is excruciating to watch when the team gets quickly to the LOS and everyone stops and looks to the sidelines and Day tries to find the perfect play. This takes away all momentum. Sometimes its better to be good then just be perfect. This impacts CJ the most and causing him to overthink.
-Situational Football- Everyone Remember the Ruggles FG attempt with 10 seconds left in the Rose Bowl instead of 3 seconds? So we had to kickoff to a dangerous return man. Has Day ever challenged a call on the field... Do we think challenging the horrible spot on Cade Stover on that key 3rd down would have been good idea? Why are we so bad on all 2 point conversions? How many timeouts do we burn in the 1st and 3rd quarters?
-Playing injured starters ( treyvon, matt jones) over proven backups is baffling. Stubbornness
-Its ok to throw the ball on 3rd/4th and short. Coming into the Maryland game we ran the ball 22/26 times on 3rd/4th w/ 2 yards or less to go. We all know the struggles there. Let CJ be CJ
With our obvious talent advantage there seems to be a "Just get out of our own way" and these games wouldnt be close like this. Especialy w/ michigan this week...lets let our players play and its a 2 TD game.
