And none of that was on Knowles. He didn't take the bad angles. He didn't slip in coverage. He didn't miss any tackles at safety. He also didn't coach those units.
All of the defensive breakdowns happened because our secondary lacked fundamentals on key plays. Why are you not mentioning our secondary coaches? Why does no one mention them? Why does Knowles get the blame when it's fairly universally accepted that he made the correct call by basically everyone who knows what they're talking about?
The problem is that after all these years, these morons still don't understand the meaning of "incontrovertible video evidence" when overturning the call on the field
No one forced us to take 3. We took 3 because we stopped being aggressive, which we couldn't afford to do.
It's incredible to me that Knowles' name keeps getting mentioned whenever the DBs are criticized for their technique. I don't even remember the names of our secondary coaches at this point with how under the radar they are flying.
It didn't matter. They couldn't stop the pass. We just stopped being aggressive whenever we got up by a couple of scores and let them back in.
Just because you've been yelling at your TV for more years doesn't mean you know anything about what you're yelling. Your takes are all very surface level, elementary analysis that a 3rd grader could come up with. "I don't know what went wrong but someone scored on us and _____ is the coach so I'm going to act like I would have made a better call."
If you're gonna blame anyone for the defensive failures, look at the secondary coaches. Either way, it's their first season with the team. We improved vastly from the year prior.
Just to be fair, those two games were against two of the other teams in the playoffs. This isn't like those years we gave up 40 to Purdue or Iowa.
Not when you had the #1 team in the nation on the ropes and lost it.
Yeah but they could have won if they threw one more pass instead of trying a run with less than a minute on the clock.
A run on first down with seconds left in the game is NOT perfectly fine, especially considering how the run had been going all night in comparison to the pass. Day called an amazing game to that point, but that point lost the game.
We* commenters
It can, and it would have if we would have kept using that dimension. That run call gloriously screwed us over- we were passing at will all night. Just keep throwing the ball. Get into chip-shot range, or maybe even score a TD. The run with 19 seconds left made absolutely zero sense.
It's why we need to stop paying attention to the Heisman
Bennett looking like he's 42 years old
Throw the fucking ball down field
His brain is more important. Hard to believe I know
Scoreboard
Throw the ball they can't stop it.
Go root for another team
We didn't lose
Throw the ball
They need to keep throwing it. That little run was a fucking waste of time.
Bullshit
