Sonny Styles will be the Marvin Harrison Jr of the defense in 2023.
Thanks captain Obvous
Burrow did step up under those ridiculous circumstances in last year's playoffs so at least he's shown he can do it. And this year's defense has even more resolve than last year's. So why NOT us? (Again)
Day's been offering alot of QBs lately, just Sayin'
After that bone-crushing hit the Bills put on Miami's receiver, I hope Lou Anarumo shows the Bengals defensive room what the poor ole' Bills are out there doing and encourage Vonn Bell and company to LAY THE WOOD. fast, hard, and with bad intentions. Make the Bills sorry they ever screwed with us.
And if our O-line can somehow give Burrow an extra half-second more than last year's playoffs, we go back to the SB.
Jackson Carman keeps proving to be absolute ASS.
Every time I see his jersey on the field it pisses me off they would waste a 2nd rd draft pick and a single dollar on that piece of shit.
I THOUGHT I TOLD ME TO SHUT UP!!!!
Won a medal?
And bring lots of Toilrt paper!
Don't forget about Creed
Football in a nutshell nowadays. NFL and college
Yep. Wisconsin's gonna be legit, and not just a threat in the B1G, but in the playoffs soon!
Agreed
"A little stouter defense with a more consistent ground game will have tremendous effects on the outcomes."
...as long as the play caller (whoever it may be) handles it properly. But yeah, that would be successful formula, especially against other quality teams.
As for the big ST plays, I bet Xavier Johnson takes multiple to the house in '23.
"Uga, sic balls!"
I enjoyed the whining by Saban. Fox probably did too;)
True. Case in point:
In the movie 'Soul Man', C Thomas Howell turned out to be a terrible basketball player after the captains fought to have him on thier respective teams...based on his 'color'.
Knowles came in thinking his defense just needed to be marginally better than under Coombs while Day's offense continues to crank. Problem is, with such a porous defense, no amount of offense will be a guaranteed championship. To make matters worse, Knowles' philosophy of risk is based on (helping) the offense score more, when in the B1G it needs to be toned down for bleeding clock and/ or preventing big plays from neutralizing our offense. Of course, with a healthy RB room, we'd have been able to accomplish that goal this year.
As usual it's about Finebaum manufacturing the outrage of his SEC callers and critics. Nothing new, just generating ratings and clicks.
Beginning in 2024, the Bucks will have a bit more leeway with the 12 team playoff. However, just like the NFL , there is a wimdow of opportunity for Day to get it done. He needs a top-notch defense Pronto to pair with his elite offenses amd leave no doubt about a championship team, which I still believe Knowles is I nching his way towards. The window closes more every year with coaches leaving for the NFL or bigger roles elsewhere.
"You caint hurt me if you caint touch me" was the reasoning behind Stroud's 'historic' TD run vs Michigan State. Once he realized the Buckeye O-line can protect him, he scrapped his legs until the Peach Bowl.
Plus Eliano recently developed a pretty good CB also named Kobe;)
The B1G won't do anything about it, the conference and most schools act like championships don't matter, only academics and acting 'superior' to the Southern schools.
Georgia's defense was once again loaded with savages, maybe not as much as their '21 team but they seem to be better offensively now. What the Buckeyes need as much as improved defensive coaching and schemes is some physically dominant, nasty junkyard dogs on defense (and interior O-linemen for that matter). As the leader of the team, whose philosophy and attitude trickles down to the assistant coaches amd players, Ryan Day needs to create a culture of being a bastard. No more of the nice-guy stuff. Of course a healthy offense would've gone a long way this year as well!
