I really wish other positions received as much consideration as QB for the award that supposedly goes to “the most outstanding player in college football.” Yes, the role of the QB in a team’s success might be (or appear to be) the most obvious, but arguments can be made for the presence or absence of certain RBs and WRs being critical, and much the same for defensive players who are absolute game-wreckers (ie, Suh in 2009).
It speaks volumes that QBs who have seen barely any snaps (don’t take it as a knock on McCord specifically - it’s the system that’s the problem) or have shown such high ceiling/low floor potential (see Milton and Rattler) are already “favorites” over many RB/WR who have already demonstrated that they are outstanding players.
Very true. There’s a reason most teams near the top are there. So, I should say that I hope he lands in one of the better team contexts (ie, Seattle rather than, well, anyone in front of them).
I like this addition. A seasoned lineman whose slate of transfer options suggests significant potential to contribute at OSU. Worst case, he offers experienced depth. Best case, his game improves further and he grabs the starting center job. Nice lottery ticket.

Anyway, this was a great read. The Spider-Man movie series analogy was spot on. But while I can understand why people did not like Spider-Man 3 because it was overly ambitious, I've never quite understood the anti-Stroud crowd. There is no disputing his talent, and he showed more than once that he could rise up to carry the team. The four losses that OSU suffered during his tenure as starting QB aren't on him - those are team losses (mainly looking at the defense here).
