Not to mention that Georgia and Alabama also lose their QBs,
First I've heard of the role of "president" of a professional team. I mean, you got the head coach, and then the general manager is his boss. What the hell does the president do anyway? Seems largely ceremonial. A player on the team would likely not interact with him much at all.
Fought well against the number #1 team in the country on their home court.
If any of Utah, Kansas State, or LSU had only two losses, there *could* be a case made for jumping us. But they all have 3 losses, so I think we're in.
Now let's get our damn RBs healthy. JSN would be hella nice too.
Prepare as if we're a 20-point dog. Beat them by 60.
Ramzy deserves a Pulitzer. How do we get him nominated?
IMO the best outcome for Ohio State at this point is essentially chalk, meaning Georgia wins out, Ohio State wins out, TCU wins out. We'd be #2 in the CFP and the committee would have to put TCU third. That would be our easiest 1st round matchup. Almost any other outcome (for example, if LSU beats Georgia), we'd have to play Tennessee and Georgia in some order in the playoff. While Tennessee is not a complete team, they are more dangerous than TCU.
It was actually a bit of a "meh" game, by CJ's standards. 60% completion percentage. The fact that that still represents the best of the Big Ten just reminds me how spoiled I am, and how great CJ is.
I'll go so far to say it was one of the greatest moments I've ever witnessed in Ohio State football, and I've been watching for 52 years.
Can we just relegate all the bitchers and whiners to their own thread, so that they can complain to each other, and the rest of us don't have to see it? Better yet, maybe mgo would welcome them.
Clarett certainly didn't use his eligibility up.
We're going to need to be, as I expect the offense to take a step back next year.
Back-to-back top 6 classes is an impressive feat for Holtmann. Not being talked about enough. That is better than every school in the country other than Duke and Kentucky.
ND rushed at a 5.6 yards per clip. Ohio State rushed at a 5.9 yards per clip. So ND "imposed their will" but Ohio State got stone walled? OK.
Um, so we should always hand the ball off from the pistol formation? So that the defense can know exactly what we're going to do in advance of snapping it? Good plan.
Mr. McCullough, since your daddy isn't in Bloomington anymore, perhaps you'd like to try an upgrade to Columbus for the 2023 season. We'll need a few LBs next year.
Michigan's strength of schedule is the worse among all the undefeated teams, by a significant margin.
I guess I've been mispronouncing his last name as well. I've been saying "too-ee-MO-low-ow". 5 syllables, with the emphasis on the 3rd. But I just listened to him pronounce his own name (about 20 times), and it's "TOO-ee-mo-louw", 4 syllables with the emphasis on the 1st. Oh well, I guess I'll just call him JT.
Agree, several one-loss SEC teams is possible, but undefeated Clemson, TCU, and winner of OSU-Michigan are all in. As long as Clemson and TCU don't drop a game, the SEC is only getting one team in.
Been saying for awhile, if TCU and Clemson manage to win out, they are both in, along with the Big Ten winner and the SEC winner. No SEC team with a loss will get in over either undefeated TCU or undefeated Clemson. We should all be cheering for TCU and Clemson.
Agree that TCU should be 6th or higher, but the unbeaten team with the best SOS is Tennessee. https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume
There was a small chance for the Big Ten to get two teams in, but *ichigan's crappy non-conference schedule eliminated that before the season started. If they lose to us and finish 5th, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Advanced metrics (SP+, etc) is probably why we are in front of Georgia. But you have to admit that Tennessee has better wins than we do. I have no problem with them at #1. It will all sort itself out in the coming weeks.
Stock Down: The Playoff Committee's easy decision
Go back to week 9 standings from last year, and you'll see the same number of undefeated teams we have now. This happens every year. Five more weeks of football, including many relevant head-to-head matchups. Lots to sort out. Just win.
