Even though it is a QB award, some of those above Marvin Harrison JR haven't proved themselves to be great nearly as much as he has. Unfortunate for him that the nation's best WR doesn't have much of a chance to move up significantly.

My Browns are in need of some D-linemen depth, and there's some Buckeyes that should be available in Rounds 2-3.
2 of the worst things about a 5 game losing streak is that the 5th one was to Nebraska, and another one was to Minnesota at home.
Devin Smith of the 2014 National Champions........33 receptions for a whopping 28.2 YPC!! Scored on a long TD pass from Cardale vs. Alabama.
If he performed that well against Alabama, then the skills are there, but probably just lacks the consistency. Still, a good pickup for the Buckeyes and Coach Frye.
I, too, was surprised by no TO by Bickerstaff but some coaches don't like to call a TO because it gives the opposing coach time to set his defense. Still, a great effort by the Cavs without Mitchell but it was maybe the toughest loss of the season, considering how good Memphis is and playing on their court. Isaac Okoro I believe was a perfect 6 for 6 from the field, including 3-4 trifectas. Best shooting night I've seen him have.
28-18, with Golden State and Milwaukee back to back Friday and Saturday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
Good hire by the Browns.......Schwartz is well respected around the NFL, and he has some talent to work with. Under Schwartz, the Browns' D should be very capable of giving up under 20 PPG.
I think CJ will find his way onto the field for meaningful snaps. Too good to play only special teams for 2 years.
Coming back with all that experience is a huge plus for the Buckeye D and Coach Knowles.
A close competition for the QB job should make both McCord and Brown better. I have no idea as to who the better QB is, but I do know that Coach Day has done well in choosing the right fit for his offense. With either one, we should put another elite passing offense on the field in 2023.
Cavaliers now 28-17 after a loss at Minnesota and a win yesterday vs. New Orleans. Hopefully Donovan Mitchell's groin injury won't keep him out long. Darius Garland's 30 points vs. NO led the Cavs, while Jarrett Allen had 24. Great to see Ricky Rubio doing what he does.....fun to watch, and gets everyone around him involved in the offense.
Hartline deserves the chance given what he has done for the program thus far. I'd rather have someone for OC that's on the staff right now than some outsider who may clash at some point with Coach Day. Hartline and Day will have a harmony between them.
Cot's Baseball Contracts projects the Guardians payroll to be just south of 90 million for the 2023 season.
The Guardians have avoided arbitrations with the following players: (source: Cleveland Guardians website)
Shane Beiber: 10.01 million
Amed Rosario: 7.8 million
Cal Quantrill: 5.5 million
Josh Naylor: 3.35 million
Zach Plesac: 2.95 million
Aaron Civale: 2.6 million
James Karinchak: 1.5 million
Cleveland hasn't had an arbitration case since 2019.
A survey was conducted among MLB executives who voted the Guardians as the #1 best organization for developing pitching. Since 2007, Cleveland has had 5 Cy Young winners, more than any other team (CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Cory Kluber twice, and Shane Beiber). The current staff has 3 solid starters (Beiber, Triston McKenzie, and Cal Quantrill), and a lockdown closer in Emmanual Clase. Could be another Cy Young winner coming out of that group.
Despite 50 points by Damian Lilliard, the Cavs won at Portland 119-113. Ricky Rubio made his debut after over a year off and scored 9 points and looked like the player before his injury. Him being back is HUGE for Cleveland. Jarrett Allen had a double double, and as usual Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland had good offensive games. Mitchell especially came up big late with some clutch buckets.
Cavs 27-16 and have one road game remaining on this trip at Minnesota.
Great that he's coming back.......he had an outstanding 2022 season and 2023 could be even better!!
The defense can't give up 87 points combined in the 2 most important games of the year (Michigan, Georgia) if Ohio State is going to get to the top of the mountain. The D doesn't have to be great, considering how prolific OSU's offense is, but even a great offense sometimes just can't score enough to overcome a defense that gives the opponent 40+ points.
I'm quite confident that as long as Ryan Day is our coach, he will have one of college football's best offenses. Losing players to the transfer portal or the NFL draft has happened every year at OSU. Despite this reality, the Buckeyes' offense has remained elite.
Ohio State will have a good O-line and I'm not really worried about it.
Going forward, not looking back, the B10 is in an excellent position for the next commissioner with USC and UCLA coming on board in 2024, a new TV contract with CBS, a widely expanded recruiting base, and a 12 team playoff starting in 2024. There's a lot to like for Warren's successor.
Tough loss for the Cavs and especially Caris LeVert, who was called for 2 fouls on Jordan Clarkson's 3 point shots late in the 4th quarter. I'm not the most knowledgeable fan on NBA rules, but those 2 fouls to me seemed shaky at best. How else is someone supposed to guard a 3 point shot? You have to get close enough to close out on the shooter, but you have to give him space to land? Evidently that means you can't really get that close to him. Again, I'm not a rules expert, but that rule seems contradictory. And to call it a flagrant on top of that.
Cavs are now 26-16 with a trip to Portland next.
The Bears get the first pick but already have Justin Fields, so the Texans, who pick 2nd, are in need of a QB unless they feel Davis Mills is their guy. I like Young because he is a playmaker in various ways, but I don't feel biased at all to say that I would rather have CJ. Taller, with the ability to make every throw necessary. He showed vs. Georgia the ability to run and also was able on numerous occasions to move in the pocket to avoid sacks. He also seems to have an even keel emotionally.
Both should go in the first 5 picks of the draft.
I'm not as down on the Browns as some........looking back at the 7-10 season, 2 games that the Browns should have won cost them a winning season. One, the disastrous Jets game, blowing a double digit lead in the last 2 minutes. Second, the New Orleans game where the Browns were supposed to have a big weather advantage over a warm weather/indoor team and instead blew a 10 point lead to lose 17-10. If those 2 games outcomes' were different at least Cleveland would have been in the running for a playoff berth to the final week. Instead, they're in Pittsburgh with the only hope is to ruin the Steelers playoff chances, and they couldn't do that against a rookie QB.
I'm glad Joe Woods is gone......there were too many games that the Browns' defense underperformed and didn't come up clutch when it needed to. Too many times they couldn't get off the field on 3rd down and it showed again yesterday vs. Pittsburgh. They gave up way too many big pass plays and statistically they weren't that good against the run. There is enough talent on that side of the ball to be better than what they showed.
Offensively, I thought DeShaun Watson started to show his talent the last several games. He only got to play 6 games which isn't a big sample size trying to get used to working within Stefanski's offense. Nick Chubb is one of the NFL's elite RB's, but Kareem Hunt to me took a step back this season. He looked slower than what he used to be and was tackled for loss more than he ever was. I would have liked to see Jerome Ross or D'Earnest Johnson get some touches. The WR corps is good with the addition of Amari Cooper, but could stand an upgrade. David Njoku and Harrison Bryant are solid at TE. The O-line is still regarded as one of the NFL's best, but depth could be better. Cade York needs to live up to the expectations that made the Browns use a draft pick to get him.
I expect the Browns to make the playoffs next year or everybody on the coaching staff and FO should be put on notice that another season without the postseason in unacceptable. There's still enough talent on this roster to at the very least get out of the cellar of the AFC North. The Browns went 3-3 in North play, and that's with 2 teams from the division making the playoffs. The Browns were not that far away from playing past week 18. They did beat Cincinnati, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh once each.
I just don't know how the Browns will upgrade through the draft or by FA. They are strapped for high draft picks, so the FO had better do their homework for the lower rounds.
Glad he's coming back........I hope he is utilized even more in 2023.
Cavaliers pick up a good road win over Phoenix with a strong 4th quarter. Devin Booker and Chris Paul were out for the Suns, but it was still important to get another win out West. Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland had 22 points, while Jarrett Allen had a double double. Cavs now 26-15 at the halfway mark, on pace to win 52 games.
