Schoedinger or some funeral home chain should have ads at the Schottenstein (Morgue) Center. Have their ad slogan where cheering goes to die and have the 10 off percent discount coupon as Basket casket. I just hope Gene Smith terminates Holtmann from his contract in a week to a few weeks just to end the fans suffering.

He's a terrible communicator, poor offensive and defensive tactician. Holtmann and his players do not even know the simple basics of basketball especially at the end of game situations. When to foul in a game, when to press, knowing jump ball possessions, time management. This is basic middle to high school basketball 101 stuff. It was very apparent. Watch the Nebraska game in the last two minutes. Cut your losses fire him, put in Diebler and see if they can rebound. Holtmann will get handsomely compensated after these games. Ohio State is the worst team in the Big Ten conference and it's not even close.

Smith needs to terminate Holtmann now. Cut your losses and put in Diebler as interim head coach. Buckeyes have nothing to lose at this point you still have to pay Holtmann his five years left on his contract (three year extension was a three million dollar epic failure by Gene Smith) but Holtmann gets less money this season after this termination.  Buckeyes are the worst team in this conference.

You must not have watched OSU play. They struggled against Minnesota at home and they were a 14 point favorite. Betting on the Buckeyes to win is like winning at bingo. Living dangerously Jacksonville

Buckeyes are not playing together as a team. They look terrible out there and everyone is playing for themselves. It's the battle of two bottom dwelling teams.

@Buckeyeman17, Johnny Harbaugh carries Jimmy Harbaugh with his coaches. Day and staff need to get better with the red zone offense. Defense needs to eliminate half of those big plays down to 2-3 a game. Knowles philosophy allowing 5 to 7 big plays a game doesn't work against a good to great team. Ann Arbor will be a pain the arse to play next season. This might be a difficult year rebuilding the offensive line and new quarterbacks starting for this team. Buckeyes might need a more mobile QB next season to be successful.

Gene and the OSU athletics department would owe Holtmann 5 million dollars, his total base salary for five years. Holtmann's base salary is 1 million per year and he would have 5 years left on his contract. Holtmann's buyout is 2.5 million dollars before June 30, 2023 and it's 2 million after June 30th, 2023 according to the Columbus Dispatch article written by Adam Jardy. It all depends on Gene Smith and how much boosters are willing to pay. How much revenue is the Schott losing keeping Holtmann? The place looks at half capacity in attendance.

Etzler shouldn't have gotten a scholarship if he is unable to play at this level. This is year two for him, he has to show something or go to a smaller less competitive school and play ball. Holtmann needs to play him if the guy is really bad, he might as well find out now. Your veterans are already playing poorly might as well give him a chance. Buckeyes should just play the young players now. They have nothing to lose. Okpara and the freshmen just need time to develop. It's sad it has to be trial by fire with these guys. Hardman is undersized right now, he needs a year to develop his body.

@NWOBuckeye It all depends on what the OSU athletic department and the boosters are willing to spend on a top tier coach. Holtmann makes anywhere from 3.5 million to 4 million a year and what his current buyout is. An elite top tier basketball coach is going to draw anywhere from 7 to 10 million a year when I mean elite top tier I am talking an Izzo, Self, Wright. They aren't going to get these guys but they need to make sure their buyouts are pretty reasonable. You might try to convince Jay Wright and Chris Beard you could get at a reasonable rate.  OSU has enough shrinks at that school he could get the appropriate counseling 7 days a week for his alcoholoism and anger issues. They could offer Sean Miller, everyone is buying players in this new NIL era so it's not a big deal now.

Holtmann could have won this game with 18 seconds left to spare with one timeout left at the end of regulation to call one last final play. He didn't use the timeout and the team choked in the end. Why do you have Sueing take three shots when he is seventh on the team shooting percentage at 27.9%. Key has a higher 3 point percentage at 30% which isn't great either.

New word for today Holtmann "Tip Drill" They don't know how to do in games

Holtmann will be here next year. Gene Smith made this worse by giving him a 3 year extension so this guy has five years left on his contract. Gene Smith needs to retire and become the next Big Ten Commissioner at least to get things back in Ohio State's favor from a conference standpoint.

Buckeyes have Sueing who is the SEVENTH best 3 point percentage at a whooping 27.9 percent and he is taking three point shots. Game was lost in regulation with 18 seconds left in the game. Piss poor coaching.

True knowledgeable fans experienced their own Circles of Hell having to watch Holtmann teams for six season now seven seasons. Full Access was very refreshing and very truthful about how this "coach" communicates the game of basketball to his own players. I feel sorry for his players having him as their coach. I cannot imagine being a player under this guy.

Ayers was a bad coach and he had Williams players for the first few years but at least he reached a Sweet Sixteen and almost an Elite Eight during his tenure as coach. Holtmann will never get to a Sweet Sixteen as a coach here. The only reason he went to the Sweet Sixteen at Butler was due to the higher seeds losing and he played no competition to get there. Jim O'Brien went to the Final Four his second year with Randy's team with James "Scoonie" Penn.
