This story sort of struck a nerve.
I don’t have any sympathy for anybody who makes $9 million a year to coach football. If you have to work 24 hours a day from August 1 to January 1, take a nap and then get in your car and go recruit… well, that’s the job. You’re getting $9 million. Suck it up buttercup.
Now, that said, I saw Ryan Day in the team hotel on my way to breakfast before the Peach Bowl. He looked like if you shoved a lump of coal up his ass it would come out a diamond. Tired? Yup. Pressure? Yup. $9 million.
On NIL, I’m sick of hearing about money grubbing 18 year old kids. The idea was to put some spending money in their pockets, not to mint a new set of millionaires each year. They will never get the toothpaste back in the tube. Should have structured it from the start to give every athlete $10k from the university, and I mean all athletes. Pay for it with those enormous tv contracts and have the collectives send their money direct to the university for disbursement.
Good luck young man. Glad you got that score this year.
7th year senior? Will his NIL deal interfere with his social security checks?
Glad that Jimmy is back. His awkwardness, fear of chickens, sleepovers with recruits and dedication to khakis makes him the perfect villain and foil in our story.
Is the double bird the best photo you could find?
This team is special. Anything short of a B1G championship and a Final Four appearance will be a disappointment.
There’s nothing left in Columbus for CJ. He had his shots and it didn’t work out. Time to go get paid. Thanks for a memorable Rose Bowl and a tremendous effort against UGA.
If I have to pick one guy to win one game for me, I’m riding with Fields
This team just isn’t very good this year. They are not able to close out an opponent in the final minutes.
I’m not on twitter. I don’t care what the players have to say, much like they don’t care what I have to say. I don’t send them messages and I think people who do should check themselves. I try to only say positive things, though I’m sure I have said something on here at one time or another that would make me cringe. Digital is forever.
On Stroud looking for a NIL deal to come back… if that’s the deciding factor, he ought to head for the league. I want guys who love being here, love their teammates, love running out of that tunnel on Saturday afternoon. If that’s not you and you’re just looking to get paid, then go get paid. Now get off my lawn.
George Halas is going to haunt whoever made this decision. It’s hard to believe Da Bears could be a bigger dumpster fire, but Kevin will give it the old college try. Hope they have an office big enough for all his plaques and ego.
If ya ain’t first, you’re last, so none of this matters. That said, who the hell is Dino Bubbers and Nick Satan can eat a bag of dix.
1 UGA 2. TUN 3. tOSU 4. Bama 5. TCU
Yeah. TCU was that bad. Winning the semifinal game does not entitle a team to second place when they get smoked by 58. Seriously. If somebody lost March Madness by 58 in the title game (eg 90-32) do you think they deserve to finish second?
Yes. One targeting call or one more firstbdown on the final drive or one less bust on defense and we’re hanging another sign from C deck. It didn’t happen. Don’t dwell on it.
Screw Hairball. Hope they make him eat chicken and drink beer.
If you ain’t first, you’re last — Ricky Bobby
I think the final poll will be 1. UGA 2. TUN 3. tOSU 4. TCU
If this slaughter continues, I don’t rule out Bama at 4.
Lost to a pair of top 5 teams, one of which was by 1 point in the national semifinal to a soon to be back to back champion. Pretty good season.
I think most folks are used to tOSU having a punishing defense that doesn’t get torched all over the field. If they had that this year, they’d be hanging more signage from the north end of C deck this summer. The offense did enough.
Knowles gets one more year to figure it out. At $2M a year, nobody has to be patient.
Okpara leaned on this guy all night. Proud of his effort. Edey sucked in the first half. He couldn’t throw one in the ocean if he was standing at the end of the pier. Okpara made him work for everything he got.
Will the Buckeyes win the east, return to Indy and take back their rightful position as B1G champions? The playoff will take care of itself if the Buckeyes win the conference.
There’s a chance this socially awkward douchebag just gave 1 or 2 word answers because he’s incapable of more. Find the clip of Colin Cowherd hanging up on Jimmy for his terrible interview responses.
I’m torn. I’d like to see Jimmy get a show cause, but I can’t bear the thought of him leaving TUN. I mean, what if they hired a competent person?
This loss is not to be laid at Noah’s feet. A 50 yard FG in that situation is at best a 50/50 proposition. The game should have never come down to a long FG. Bucks had a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter that should have stood up. 3 plays to lose a yard after CJ’s scramble was not acceptable either.
Both of those targeting calls look like the definition of targeting to me. Refs and the replay booth can’t swallow the flags at this time of year. Perhaps need to look at making targeting a 15 yard penalty only with a second infraction resulting in DQ.
That was a hard result to accept. You just can’t give up a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter of the national semifinal. I think if that targeting call isn’t wiped off, the Bucks punch in a score to go up 42-24 and it’s over.
The offense did enough to win. The defense did enough to win. I don’t blame Noah Ruggles. This loss belongs to Jim Knowles and his cover zero coverage bust and a few horrible play calls in the last few minutes. Needed to get 5-10 more yards for the kick. The 48 yard kick looked like a line drive brick minutes earlier. Didn’t hold much hope for a 50 yarder in that situation when I’m not sure one was kicked all year.
Saw this and thought 11W was recycling stories from last year. Would the Broncos really be dumb enough to hire Jimmy after the train wreck they had with Hackett. That dude was not ready to be a head coach. Presume the Broncos would be able to sniff out Jimmy’s douchiness if the actually interviewed him.
