On a somewhat related note.... Clemson hired Garrett Riley as their new OC. Lincoln Riley's little brother who had been at TCU. It's a big hire for Dabo. Ryan Day needs to start training his new student. Play calling is appropriate in time.

Not sure how I feel about this. I love everything that Brian Hartline does to make our Wide Receivers and team so much better BUT Ryan Day doesn't want to lose or share his job. His job - Offensive Coordinator and QB coach at Ohio State His "Should be" job is: Head coach at The Ohio State University. I believe our last OC was told to keep quiet and stay out of the way. He will be nice to Hartline because he doesn't Want to Piss off a great position coach and the absolute best recruiter that we have. I am just not.convinced that coach Day is ready to share and to teach another to do the same function. Time will tell - We will see. It could be a major advancement for our team and personally for coach Day. Position coaches are tasked with development of their players. Head coaches need to strengthen and develop their coaches. Coach Hartline, you work incredibly hard and are very successful. 2,000 gets you a Hot Tub, 5k for a really good one, 10k for an absolutely great one. Your effectiveness is great, buy yourself what makes you happy. Winter time is the perfect time.

Don't forget that McCord has experience in High school throwing to MH. That's a fire that I would love to see rekindled. If the other young man has real talent in effective passing, he should get plenty of opportunity as well. We don't recruit high four star and five star receivers just to watch JT Barrett running 25 times per game. That's regression

So absolutely many young men are in the Transfer Portal. We have a Safety and a long snapper. I could see us giving serious attention to many many more. Offensive Tackle, Linebackers, Defensive Tackle, Cornerback, Offensive Guard or Center are a few that deserve some serious attention. Fear that someone might speak the letters N I L are foolish. Everyone is dealing with the same concept. We need to improve however and whenever possible. I can't imagine us being inactive with the portal because Gene Smith has his head buried in the sand. Get busy and get us back into the CFP again next year. Some additional help seems like a good idea since we missed on some key individuals - recruiting.

Like against NC. We melted like the wicked witch in Wizard of Oz. That weakness should have been addressed in preseason practice. Once you have a known weakness... Everyone will use that against us. Just watch. Bring additional players up to be capable of receiving the pass.
