Wow this kid has offers from everyone already after just his freshman season. He threw for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns playing against the best competition in Georgia

I love the odds on Harrison. Some regarded him as the best pure football player in the country last season and he will certainly be in the running for that again this season. He obviously has the name recognition and pre-season hype coming off of a unanimous all-american year last year. He is a highlight reel waiting to happen.

I also expect Day & Hartline to spend all offseason scheming up how to move him around to avoid double teams when possible. If he can stay healthy all year and keep catching TDs at a high rate I think voters will give him a legitimate thought over a QB.

Agreed, this spring will be huge for a number of guys and the staff will have some tough decisions to make. It isn't as simple as a LT vs another LT for the open spot. Jackson, Jones, and Fryar are the only penciled in starters in my mind but even their positions are not set in stone.

Jones can be C or RG, Jackson can play LG or LT, Fryar could be RT or LT. It all depends on how well guys like Michalski (LT), Cutler (LG/C/RG), James (LG/C/RG), and Vimahi (LG/RG) perform at their respective positions.

My best guess as of today would be Michalski, Jackson, Jones, Vimahi, Fryar

Winning a title is hard. Us buckeye fans know that better than anyone. But man it just seems like we have let so many chances slip and are due for one. It hurts a little more when you are one-point away from a title as opposed to going 7-5 on the year and never even dreaming of making the playoff... We are definitely spoiled but with the way recruit and how good our teams have been it feels like we should have more than 2 in the past 20 years.

The good news is that 2023 is our year!

They didn’t bury the lead, but they said Ohio State is already aware of his decision and he has just not made it public. Then they found a way to make the video 15+ minutes since they are creating content, but my take is that they made it clear in the first few minutes that he’s gone without outright reporting “CJ declares for NFL”

The latest Podcast Daily with Austin ward and Birm pretty much confirms he is gone. I am on my cell phone but here is the link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rNSgdjdhEh0

They did say Ransom is back which is great news!!

Well we will know one way or another tomorrow. After the Peach Bowl and throughout the season I was in the boat that he was 100% gone. I am still fully expecting to read a farewell letter tomorrow, but my perspective on this has certainly changed in the 2 weeks since the game ended and we've all had time to ponder it (probably too much time lol).

At first I was putting myself in his shoes and know that I certainly would be going pro if it was me. I was using common sense and historical precedent since he is a phenomenal talent that NFL teams are drooling over. He's a surefire top 5 pick, which means you go pro early.

However, it is impossible to actually get inside someone's head and in their heart. This is a life-changing decision that has many emotions at play. Like many of you, I have followed CJ closely ever since we offered him in recruiting, and if there is one thing that I know about him it's that he is a unique individual and a deep thinker. Even if he decides to go pro, it HAS to pain him the way his career ended. 0 wins over TTUN, 0 championships of any kind, 0 first team all-american/heismans, etc. His OSU legacy resume is honestly as bad as I can remember with how dominant we had been in the Big Ten and in The Game. He is also a man of faith and I am sure is using this time to pray on it. There is a lot to consider.

Again, I think he will go pro. But I do believe there is a greater than 0% chance he returns. I am glad he announces tomorrow because I am about done talking about it lol

What would you like to discuss in the middle of January Brah Zhole? The early signing day slows down this entire month so all there is to do is speculate about next year’s team. I fully expect CJ to leave but do find the betting odds shift and silence interesting

Kind of like how Dallas Gant at Toledo knew the inner workings of our offense and held us to 77 points this past year? Or in 2020 when Brendon White at Rutgers stonewalled our offense to scoring only 35 points in the first half?

Some of us worry about the X's & O's and sign stealing too much (me included). Scheme certainly matters some, but this game is mostly about the Jimmys and the Joes

We are close to having enough information to project a pre-spring ball 2-deep. Can't wait! Really hope Ransom returns.

Comment 10 Jan 2023

Can a mod just correct the post since it has incorrect information and has led to a number of comments about it?

Mod Edit: Answer, yes.

Not a buckeye draft decision but relevant: Blake Corum has decided to return to TTUN for his senior season.

Getting Tommy and Steele back would be huge.

Comment 09 Jan 2023

Why do you doubt he returns? I think he stands a lot to gain by a full healthy offseason of workouts, spring practice, etc. to have a great senior (4th-year) season. He missed all of that last year due to injury.

I would love to see Ransom and Styles roaming as the 2 deep safeties next season.

Good point - I don't think we've heard anything for sure but I would assume Henderson would be able to and Pryor would not.

To be clear, I'm not saying I think Henderson or any other RB will transfer. I am just saying that based on the speculation from the tweet above (which we have no reason to believe is true), I would be shocked if Marv is the one who leaves. I would not be TOTALLY shocked if a RB looked around a crowded room with 5 legit guys returning and saw an opportunity to make more money elsewhere or be the lead back.

Comment 06 Jan 2023

Marv is the least of my worries. There’s this quote along with him wanting to be “greatest WR ever” and we all know (and he knows) Hartline is best suited to develop him over this next year.

Not to mention his family is already more than well off and I’m sure he’ll be making 7 figures+ at OSU anyway.

Now someone like Henderson? I could see that with miyan returning. There aren’t enough carries for all of our RBs to be satisfied next year.

More or less yes this is correct. We have a great class, but it seems we got hurt from NIL as much as anyone.

For context, imagine if in 2017 we lost Chase Young to Bama or Georgia for NIL reasons. A superstar player like that can change a ton for a program both on the field and for future recruiting. It definitely is valid to be upset that we may have lost a superstar or 2 from all of this.

I get what you’re saying but it’s hard to say he “underutilized” his legs when Fields had some sort of injury in every big game he played in (TTUN ‘19, Clemson ‘19, Clemson ‘20, Bama ‘20). That’s the risk/reward of running the QB
