That isn't going to happen. You would have to pay all the athletes as employees.  Title 9 will ensure that.

Agreed. I don't care for a lot of things he says or does, but there is no denying he is a great bball player and has done a lot in the Akron community.

The girl knows exactly what she's doing. She is a social influencer who just happens to be a college athlete.  The money she is receiving has nothing to do with her athletic ability.  Look up the basketball twins that have already signed with the WWE.

Sex sells.  Always has, always will.  She is just utilizing her assets for money.  Other girls do it a different way.  She is just doing it under the guise of being a college athlete.

Yep. And "all that money" helps provide sports programs and scholarships to underprivileged athletes who are going to get just a degree from school. Not millions like those who will go onto the NBA or NFL will make.

Maybe we should just ignore the men's sports for awhile since they are pretty much an embarrassment. The women's teams are carrying the flag right now and the men could learn a thing or two from them.

Did you want Hartline to stay or not? He wanted the OC job. Given his level of success to date, if a coach wants it, you reward him. I would much rather have Hartline on the team versus some other school.

I think he's a quality individual. But Ohio State needs a skilled basketball coach that gets the most out of his players. I have seen nothing over the last few years that suggests Holtmann was the right guy.  Giving him an extension was one of the worst moves Gene Smith has made in his career.  

Either way he is not at Ohio State next year.

This is why it was so stupid to give him an extension at the end of last season. Anybody with half a basketball brain could have told you that. But then there was the Holtmann apologist on here that said how great this year was going to be.

Columbus is a college town through and through. No pro team can compete with Ohio State. Hockey and soccer get by as they are in niche markets. The fans of those two sports are pretty avid.

I mean beating that vaunted basketball powerhouse Nebraska would be a first step. Or they can continue on their path to being irrelevant. At least we have the Lady Bucks!

Hartline's appeal is pro ready WR's at the next level. Ohio State has lost a step at some of those positions. That does have an impact.

I mean the best QB in NFL history went to Michigan. Is he remembered as a great QB there. No. Football is a team sport. Stroud, the other players, and the coaches had a chance to cement their legacy at Ohio State. They didn't get it done. They will now be remembered as other teams such as 2015. Great talent that really achieved nothing that year.

I find that way too early prediction pretty absurd. I have seen nothing yet to give me confidence Ohio State can beat Michigan next year. Corum is back, as is Edwards and McCarthy. Ohio State has to rebuild an offensive line and find a quarterback. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of their prediction!

If we rank by team accomplishments Stroud is at the bottom. He is a good player with all the skills.  I wish him the best at the next level. That is far as his accomplishments at Ohio State, he was on a team that failed to beat Michigan, failed to win a Big Ten Championship, and failed to win a National Championship or even a CFP game. Now not all that is his fault, but as a team on which he was a leader, they have failed the last two years.  That's just the facts.
