Last night was it for me.  It was coming, but last night shattered me.  Holtmann needs consequences for what he is doing with this team.  I have been a big Holtmann supporter.  He is a great guy to mentor kids, has done very well recruiting, and fits what we want as a head coach.  But a couple weeks ago this was one of the highest scoring teams in the country.  For the past few games, we are watching an offense that consists of one guy dribbling the ball, 4 guys standing and looking at him watching him dribble the ball, and then throw up an off balance shot late in the shot clock by trying to win 1 on 1.  Last night was just more of the same, stagnant plays followed by low effort.  Once you see low effort pop up while on a 5 game losing streak, it's time for Gene to step in and ask what the hell is going on.

It's NFL playoff Sunday, finding a place with the sound on is already going to be limited, taking campus out almost completely eliminates that requirement.

You have to walk from outside to go inside to any place in Columbus, so being able to smoke seems like a non-issue.

Your beer/liquor choices are just about the most basic, find at any establishment with a liquor license, types of drinks...non-issue.

Showing up with enough time to find a seat at a TV that has the game on is going to go farther than trying to search out a bartender who knows how to immediately get the B1G Network on TV.  Service is hit or miss anywhere, especially with bartenders, and can vary from bartender to bartender within the same establishment.  Good luck on finding the perfect storm where you don't have to ask for refills and wait.

Other Buckeyes shouldn't be hard to find, but again, NFL football will dominate most bars around.

Overpriced is the name of the game these days....so if not paying up for food is your thing, eat lunch before you go, it's a 2:15 game.

Not sure where to go in Grandview any more for a sports feel, not really what the places there are about.  But I will warn you that last Sunday (not near Grandview) I got a late jump on finding a spot to watch the early NFL games, and it took me walking in/out of 6 places before I found a place to STAND at a bar and watch the games.  That was the last week of the regular season (granted the Steelers/Browns game was not on here), so whatever you do if you are going out to the bar to watch, go early.  I personally don't plan on moving off of my couch because of my experience last Sunday.

Ate MW as a young kid because it was the choice of the house.  Had actual mayo one time and asked what it was.  Was told it was actual mayo, so that stopped me eating MW for good.  Ate Hellman's until I tried Duke's one time, only eat Hellman's now if it's the only choice.  Nothing beats a spread of Duke's on a sandwich, add some black pepper to it.

Great post.  There is a hungry group of young kids on this team, and more coming in.  Talent everywhere.  Playoff expanding.  We are in a great place right now.

A while back I saw AJ and Bobby together in public.  Won't say the circumstance, but it kind of soured me on Carpenter.  He may be a great coach, I don't know.  But I got heavy frat boy vibes from him, which was surprising for his age.

I don't think people understand what culture means.  Culture is having Kamryn Babb tear both his ACLs multiple times and never seeing the field his entire career, but his teammates voting him for the block "O" and voting him captain.  And then going wild when he scores a TD.  Culture is a coach, teammates, and medical staff give Harry Miller the opportunity to still be speaking today.  Culture is following through when you sit across from parents and tell them that OSU will do everything in the best interest of their son no matter what happens on the field.  Culture is having a teammate step into a domestic situation, get shot in the face, and come back and have his best season ever as a captain.

I'm annoyed with the losses to TTUN just like everyone else.  But I'll take Day and the environment that he has created at OSU over anyone.  I want to see the team win a NC.  But it will ring hollow to me if it is done in the way that aTm or Miami have.

The aTm example is the exact example many of us were trying to point out when NIL was put into play and people were freaking out.  You can throw Miami in that bucket as well.  Donors all over are seeing these situations and are not going to be as willing to throw money at teenagers because of it.  We knew some schools would go all in on NIL and prove that it isn't that easy to build a contender by signing checks.

If anyone is pushing the idea that OSU should chase that trend of just throwing money all over, I think the OSU donors (not most of us, the real players) are smarter than that.  Obviously some other schools have donors that make stupid monetary decisions.  I'm sure they are happy that their check that cashed in the offseason to obtain those classes ended up with half of them in the transfer portal after finishing dead last in the SEC.

Sift though the Georgia schedule and results.  They blew out Oregon in the first game of the year.  Since then they have played 4 quarters in an actual game with Kent State, beat Missouri on a fluke, and their past three games were a tighter than should have been game with GT, the aforementioned 16-6 UK game, and gave up 500 yards to LSU passing with a backup QB.  I guess they blew out Vandy and South Carolina.  Is that champion level?  Had the Missouri game had one play end differently and they lost, would that still be champion level?

My point?  You are correct that OSU has not played at champion level.  But to act like we have some steam engine that has blown everyone off the tracks lined up on the other side is also not accurate.  Both teams can be beaten.  Saying OSU is going to lose by 4 TD's is emotional typing.

Less than 3 weeks ago GA beat UK 16-6.  Emotions cloud logic.  OSU can beat GA, GA can blow out OSU.  But making an all knowing prediction based off of the results of one game only makes you look like a genius if it actually happens.

Congratulations Joe!  I wish you the best going forward.  Work is just a means to an end.  10 years ago I was given basically a red pill/blue pill scenario for work.  Lots of money with a huge commitment or work during the day and then spend time with my family.  I'm not monetarily wealthy, but I'm glad I made the choice I did.

I sat in the north end right behind the field goal one year a while back against Indiana.  It was frigid cold, on and off snow.  Somehow, a vortex of wind got caught over our section only it seemed, and was dumping snow directly onto my lap for a solid 30 minutes straight.  I've never been so cold in my life.  Weird stuff happens on  the north end.

While mentioning the TUN non-conference schedule, we must remember that they were scheduled to play UCLA and they cancelled it to keep the non-conference schedule they ended with.  They have done this with Arkansas and Va Tech as well.  They decided to go full cupcake out of conference.

17-3 vs Nebraska
14-17 vs Rutgers
13-7 vs MSU
16-14 vs PSU
10-10 vs IU
13-0 vs Iowa
17-13 vs MD

These are the halftime scores for TTUN in all of their games this year (the first 3 don't count at this point for them).  The only way they control the narrative that they are "dominating" teams is to play their guys the whole game to open the score up and make it look better.  They can't do it quickly with no passing game, they have to grind it out, which takes time.  The only game where they weren't puckering walking into the locker room at half was Iowa and that's only because a 13 point lead on Iowa is like a 35 point lead on Maryland.

I'm not a guy that can go finding these types of stats, but if you took out names, and just subtracted the top 10 longest rushing plays from either team, there would be a great variation in the adjusted YPC for OSU and much less for TTUN, simply due to volume.  Again, their YPC is more accurate.  Yes Corum has long rushes, but he also consistently picks up 6 yards when he is handed the ball.  If you can't see it, I can only assume you haven't watched any of their games.  The guy is good.  Just because he plays for that team doesn't mean he isn't.  Currently CJ Stroud has a 9.9 YPA and JJ McCarthy sits at 8.2.  Say OSU runs all over MD and Stroud doesn't throw much in this game, and in the Illinois game Harbaugh miraculously unleashes the passing game and McCarthy hits 5 50+ yard throws, and he and CJ end up close in YPA.  Is JJ as good as Stroud?  No.  You would say he went nuts in one game when Illinois couldn't defend a fart and that doesn't change the reality of who is better.

I agree, I was watching the game against Nebraska thinking, why is he in there in the 2nd half?  Their problem is that because he is the vast majority of the offense, they can't rest him and risk losing.  This week, Illinois has a solid run defense.  They have to use Corum again, they can't risk Illinois shutting down his backups and forcing them into a game.  So I wouldn't expect much to change this week, he will probably get north of 20 carries unless they hit a couple big plays and get up quickly which has not been their style of play.  The only thing going for them, he hasn't been hurt.  So if he gets through this week unscathed, it works out for them.
