Everybody will have some question marks for next season, but stepping back and looking at the situation OSU is loaded going into next season.

Great post. While the loss to UGA stings it feels alot like the last loss to clemson where the team knew one slipped away and put an edge on the blade for the next season. Also one thing i keep thinking about is the Alabama team we lost to in the NCG had a ton of key players turn down the draft and come back for one last season to win a title with a first year starter at qb. I am feeling some parallels and feel very bullish on the Buckeyes next season.

Totally fair point, we dont truly know how OSU stacks up to other schools with NIL. The recent articles have been about other schools offering more than OSU and that may be skewing perceptions. I think over all we will have to be or continue to be competative with NIL to consistantly win at the higest levels.

My proposal for NIL. Make all endorsment deals official and track them against a 'soft cap' for the team/season. Money over the soft cap will be subjected to a progressive tax that goes to fund NCAA executives lol jk other less lucrative sports (water polo) in an overall NCAA fund not just to your school. I think it will flatten out this melt up as people wont want to spend $1,000,000.00 if $500k is going into a general fund. This will require the school to broker the NIL deals between the sponsor and athlete to manage the cap but i think they are probably already in the middle anyway. Just an idea.

I cant argue that the gentleman does seem to have an affinity for UGA and Bama, and i cant argue that he may also be a glass half empty guy but he does make a fair point in the original comment. If we expect to compete year in and year out with the nations elite we have to have a competitive NIL package in my opinion. I dont think the sky is falling but i do think the landscape is evolving. I believe we will evolve. In the buckeyes i trust.

I can see where you are coming from but I am betting the over on us. Defense has to get better and i think it will. The defense was deeply flawed this year but undeniably improved. Knowles track record suggests another junp forward next year. Also this is the new college football world, Georgia's vaunted defense gave up 41. And for the QB i think that Day has proven he can develop that position at an elite level, we have recruited that postion really well and the WR/RB rooms should make it easier for whoever is throwong it. You could be right we could go 9 and 3 but I think will be right back in the thick of the championship chase

Really remarkable how this team competed. This will be a all time what if year for me. What if JSN is healthy all year 2, 18, 11 all on the field at one time....yikes. what if Henderson was healthy this year. But it wast in the cards. Looking forward to the future the tho. The WR room is loaded. The RB room is loaded. I think Frye will develope the O line. And i do believe Knowles is the right guy. I am banking on the defense being better in year 2 under Knowles.

Who should we be contacting? If this is going to turn into an open market for employment lets start marketing. I wonder if NIL deals will start having penalties for transfering to lock kids into staying at a school

I am amazed more people are not bringing this point up. M seems to be taking an intentionally different approach to recruiting. They dont seem to be chasing many 5* kids but building their classes with 4* and 3* kids that they develop for 4 to 5 years. They appear to have taken a get old stay old approach. It seems to be working for them now.

I am not sure i am ready to surrender mentally to 'success rate be damned'. In my untrained eyes it looked a lot like high stakes gambling - hyper aggressive defensive call results in big hit or big misses. It seems like M hit the soft underbelly of some big gambles on a few big plays. I think Knowles put a game plan togeter that hit more than it missed but unfortunately the few misses broke the bank.
